Realm smiled as he watched the CAPTCHA dive away. He was going to leave. This day couldn't get better.

His smile melted when he saw the horrified look on the girl's face as she stared directly at him. She was normally supportive of him--she even wanted to go with him, to a world where she could be free and not subject to the horrifying reality of the fact that her naming had failed. Then why was she--

Wait. She wasn't looking directly at him. She was looking over his shoulder.

He whirled.

Capture was standing there, his bronze-colored eyes flashing with anger and horror as he stared down at Realm.

Realm stumbled back. "L-loook--it wasn't wh-what it seemed like! I didn't--" Realm stuttered.

Capture reached forwards and grabbed Realm's collar in an iron grip. "All this time. We blessed you with your name. We trained you to be one of us." Capture growled, his features contorted with rage. "And still. Still, you're a traitor. Still, you. Never. Listen." Capture snarled. "We thought you were a prodigy. We thought you were special."

Realm couldn't come up with an answer. He just listened. "But even the gifted have to be disposed of sometimes." Capture said, with finality.

The girl ran towards Capture, trying to do something, anything, but he batted her away with his free arm and stormed off through the halls, dragging Realm behind him.

"Hey--let--" Realm spluttered as Capture dragged him through the seemingly endless halls of metal plating and wires.

They ended up in a round room, with the metal plating of the walls rusting from age and revealing wires. There was a podium at the center, much like the one the CAPTCHA had appeared from earlier, but larger, and covered in golden runic designs that snaked around every part of it.

Realm breathed deeply. The portal room. It had only been used a few times--when the beings called 'Admins' came in to discuss things with the glitches, and when a few CAPTCHAs that chose human forms came in for codes.

Realm had only been there once; when his Naming occurred. He didn't remember; the Naming occurred when glitches were newborns. None of their parents had chosen to take them in for Naming at any other time. He only knew that he had been blessed with a powerful name (Realm); nothing more.

Capture glared at Realm. "I didn't want to rid this world of you...but I think it's time. You've taken your gift for granted for far too long."

Realm recalled that this room wasn't just a portal; it was also used for important events, such as Naming and...and executions.

He writhed away from Capture as Capture drew a dagger, smiling. "This is one lesson you'll never forget." Capture hissed. The doorway slid shut, obscured by a metal wall. Realm immediately writhed away, but the older man was faster and too experienced with the knife.

Realm yelled fiercely and darted for Capture, trying to wrestle the knife from his grip, but Capture merely batted him away, onto the platform that served as a portal. If only Realm knew how to activate it.

Capture grinned. "Try all you want, Realm. The portal can only be used by the ancient ones...and those entering. Good luck escaping." Capture purred, stepping towards Realm slowly. Realm scrambled away, but tripped, falling again onto the platform... The gleaming silver knife came closer and closer to him...

Realm, a voice whispered. A voice far away. A voice that had spoke repeating it's CAPTCHA's words. A CBer that had no idea what they had unleashed.

Heat pulsed under his skin as his name was said. Suddenly, the platform exploded in a burst of light, heat, and sparks...taking Realm with it...taking Realm into the unknown...taking Realm...to the Chatterbox.

This story can be whatever you wish. A story to read idly, a single write, a roleplay. It is your choice. Simply know that I will be actively posting here.

Warning: lots of fragments/odd things ahead.

Realm had never seen fire, but he had heard tales of its flames. The girl had even drawn it once, based on the description of a CAPTCHA, who passed it to Realm, who passed it to the girl. He imagined pulsing color and heat and flickering shapes.

That was exactly the type of thing that engulfed Realm...but blue, in shades of odd cyan color that changed with every blink of his eyes. Colors swirled around him, colors with no place to go, things that had not been yet imagined, things that were ready to emerge. Sparks and lights twisted around him like a million fireflies (well, he had seen a firefly CAPTCHA in the dark a long time ago) swimming through the air. Was this the portal? It must be..

The heat continued, underneath his skin, through his body, in his mind. He could feel it growing stronger with every heartbeat. It was intense...the way the other glitches said using your Name should feel. Magical. Powerful. Like a burst of adrenaline...that simply wouldn't end.

The flames changed color around him, and an Aurora Borealis of lights (again, something that he had never seen, but had the girl try to draw based on the description of a CAPTCHA he had translated for her) hung gently around him. There was a light touch, like mist on his skin....

And creatures suddenly glittered around him.

A small red dragon, with ruby scales. He only got glimpses of it's powerful muscles and wings until it joined the formation of the rest of it's kind. Four cats, kicking through the whorl of colors as if swimming. Some sort of dog with white, feathery wings unfurling from it's back. Some sort of mole-like creature with a red bow tie (did they call them....Nifflers? Ah, yes!). A sloth lazily paddled through. Another dragon, with its scales shifting colors as it moved. Some sort of...large gray cat joined the group. A wolf that thrust it's head up in a howl as it's wings flexed. And a fuzzy, small, dark red creature.

The CAPTCHAs were here.

Realm gasped as the portal's aura tightened around him and he began to fall through the lights and colors, falling away from the end....

Suddenly, there was a tug and he could see it. In the distance, there was green. There was a tree...a tree...

Realm summoned the last of his strength and kicked through the portal's aura towards the chatterbox.

The portal melted away, revealing the Chatterbox all around him just as the power around Realm intensified and everything went black.

Okay, this is really cool. I never thought about the CAPTCHAs' life and stuff before. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Oh, and Onyx says onfy.

Correction; Realm is not a CAPTCHA. He is a being known as a Glitch, but his species assists and takes a major role in the lives of CAPTCHAs.

"Think he's alive?" A voice thought aloud. "Y'know, Somebody, when people are dead, they're usually not breathing." Another voice responded. Although the type of their message was sarcastic, they still somehow seemed to convey cheerfully. "Hmmm, Kitten--" 'Somebody' began to make an equally toned reply when a Realm felt a light touch on his wrist and gasp drowned all of the other voices out. "He's not breathing!" A third voice reported.
Realm slowly opened his eyes. Figures were standing over him, casting odd shadows into his blurred vision. The heat under his skin was slowly fading.
"No pulse? Still alive? Yeah, I think I'll leave before the apocalypse starts." Somebody commented. Footsteps echoed in Realm's ears.
Realm tried to sit up abruptly. "Woah, woah, easy there!" The third voice said in what was clearly supposed to be calm and slow, but had ended up sounding almost too serious, as if it was imagining this scene in a movie.
Realm felt hands entwine around him and slowly sit him up, giving him a view of two teens, standing side by side above him.
The one to the right had dark pink hair that cascaded down her shoulders and provided a perfect contrast for her long forest-green dress. Vines had seemed to embrace her and trailed behind her. Rosebuds protruded from the vines, some in full bloom. Her clothes were even embroidered with the pattern of graceful vines. Something silver glinted behind her ear, but Realm couldn't focus. He had met a Chatterboxer. His first Chatterboxer. They were the warriors of old, the defenders of peace--
The girl next to her adjusted her light purple glasses, sending a glare of light into Realm's eyes for a brief second. Cat ears protruded from her head, twitching slightly as she studied him. As he watched, a starburst of colors burst through them--fur in shades of oranges and yellows, changing to whichever shade it preferred. Her ears finally settled on a light lemon yellow, leaving him to focus on her other features--dark brown hair, her glasses, the handle of some sort of...rod sticking out of her back pocket.
These were the Chatterboxers...defenders of peace...protectors of their kingdom....unfallible...
"So, where did ya take us?" The one with vines asked the other. She blushed. "Well...I'm not quite good at apparating yet...I think I took us to Lucy's place." The girl said, shrugging and staring at the ground.
A vine twisted around the other's arm. She threw back her head and laughed. "Not good at apparating? You took four of us, Kitten, four!"
Realm stared at them, wondering if this was how the great defenders were supposed to act. They certainly weren't acting...noble. More like...normal. Too normal. They didn't act formal like the other Glitches Realm knew.
Suddenly, 'Kitten's gaze darted over to Realm, meeting his stare for a second. Her eyes widened as she stared at his, then scrambled back and screamed.
