@Esthelle; Welcome and thanks! Something tells me that it's going to be fun writing about you.

@Shy Peacock; thanks and welcome! It's great to have you here. I wish I could just write about all these characters already!

Some advice for y'all crazy theorists--I copy and pasted the entire list of CBers that joined onto a Notepad (I believe the app comes on all Windows computers). It's nice to have the list at my fingertips, and if you see a mysterious character, you can browse descriptions there without going through page after page on the CaC thread each time you want to.

@Viola--Generals! War! Sticky Notes! And more inspiration for me to keep writing! Thanks for always being so kind and inspirational with all of your posts!

Sorry if I missed anyone's posts; I can be quite forgetful.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

You're welcomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

*falls over*

Thank you. Bury me in a marble tomb, please, in a step pyramid with a nonspecific columned open-air temple at the top, and pink sandstone patterns around the edges of it all. Maybe plant an almond tree? No roses, they're pretty but cliché. Or, well, maybe roses. If you want. Anyway, I'll resurrect in a few minutes to read the next part. Thank you so much. I think I'll die again every time I remember being told I inspired you. *dies*

"We're completely cut off from the outside world!" A younger glitch yelled, still frustrated. "A single protest helps no one." One of the older Glitches, suitably named Wisdom, commented. The younger glitch fell silent.

The girl with no name struggled, but to no avail. She couldn't leave the room. She couldn't do anything. Rays of light had twisted themselves around her and held her in place--she was held still by the brightest and most stunning prison ever. Light itself had wrapped itself around her. All she could do was glare mutinously at Capture, who was leaning against the wall and listening to the conversation.

"How did he leave then, if Capture's dagger destroyed the portal?" A teenager--the girl with no name paused to wonder how he was invited to the council--asked. "He used his Name. We've been over this before!" One of the wisest Glitches--even he had grown impatient--snarled.

"Okay...so we just need someone with a similar Name, something weaker that still gets the job done." The teenager commented. All of them stared--they had been outsmarted by a teenager. He shrugged. "Hey, I'm here for a reason."

"We have no one." An elder intoned, then dropped his gaze to the ground.

Silence reigned supreme in the council room.

It was only broken when 'Wisdom' began to laugh. "Except..." His gaze turned to the girl with no name. "We do have someone who can be named."

Thank you! Believe me when I say I know the honor done me. *bows again*

I'm intrigued by the current story thread, following the Girl With No Name. Is it possible to enforce a name on an individual? Are names given to reflect the inherent natures of their bearers, or are they arbitrarily assigned? O THE SUSPENSE!

Speak up, No Name! Tell them they can't! :(

Oh, no. The girl with no Name, who is Realm's friend, will be used against him! What an evil plot twist! What will her name be, though? Portal? Jumper? *bites nails in an attempt to be patient until next post*

What about Tracker? Then they could find Realm.

Or....

Hunter.

Ominous indeed Galazy. Ominous indeed.

BUT SERIOUSLY ISN'T THERE A LAW AGAINST NAMING A GLITCH A NAME FOR SELFISH REASONS?!

Really, Galaxy, just throw a giant lawbook at those Glitches! (Also, why doesn't she have a name? It would be an interesting subplot if there was a important backstory note in there...) No, wait, No Name Girl should do it! Literally. *THWACK* *THUD* *Faint groans*

I wrote this in the second post, I believe:

"Over the course of their relationship, there was always awkward moments where Realm began to speak her name, then remembered she didn't have one. Her naming had failed. She was lucky to be kept as a servant instead of instantly unceremoniously executed. "

I began thinking about the names, and I was thinking: What would happen if a glitch was named Null or Void? Would that mean the glitch would have the power to nullify other glitch powers?

Though I think a Null would be a bit OP, unless there’s a catch...

Hmmm, that's a great idea, Storm! I might have to think that one over.

Thanks Galaxy!

Just wanted that mystery for me to be cleared up.

Ooooh, I like Null. It hints at being dangerous without clearly stating it. Like saying Null instead of Destroyer or something. Hunter I geuss is kind of obvious.... better than Tracker though, because hunters usually kill their prey afterwords rather than just tracking them.

The tension! AAaaah!

I'm going to join the ranks of crazed speculators:

I wonder how they're going to re-name her then, if having a failed naming is so serious then re-naming must not be a usual thing. (also, I want to know more about this naming, and how it could fail - there must be some magical or random component so it's not just a "this is your name, you may now go on with your life" ritual. Perhaps it failed because she was given the wrong name?) Maybe they have to do some kind of forbidden re-naming magic? I hope that doesn't do anything like turn her evil, or take away her free will (I hope they can't do any sort of magic that would do that, although they can probably still make her use whatever new powers she gets by threatening her...) - she must have a chance to escape and try to save both the Glitch and CB worlds (and Realm!) from the evil Glitches! Did I miss something, or is the reason for the glitches being evil still a mystery? And we still don't really know what happened to Aspen... If she was captured by the Glitches and taken back to their world, then maybe she can escape and help the nameless girl escape! I can't wait to find out more!

I'm having attention/focus issues right now, so I won't be able to answer all of your lovely comments. However, I'll be dishing out replies when I have the time. But, in any case, here's the moment you've all been waiting for--

Realm fleeing the Sticky Note Palace. *Evil laughter*

*   *   *

Realm had been running for too long. He was tired, too; more tired than he had ever been before. But still he didn't stop.

The roads of the Chatterbox were picturesque; floating lanterns took to the sky at night, as numerous as a flock of geese, and during the day, large, gnarled trees towered above them, with small and well-designed wind chimes made of precious stones and materials hanging from every branch.

He had asked a CBette in the palace about it. He had read that other nations seemed to treasure precious metals and coins--even the Glitches had a liking for them--, but the Chatterbox didn't seem to value them or use them for anything but their beauty.

She had smiled uncomfortably, adjusted her black glasses, toyed with the end of a yellow-and-black striped scarf, and tried to be as useful as possible in her reply. "Well..." She began, then, rather sheepishly, attempted to explain it to him. He had continued around the palace, asking anyone he could that day, until he got this explanation:

"Things that have great value because of their worth in money and their rarity underground have little to no value here, because we value the things that really matter. Kindness, loyalty, bravery, most of all intelligence--those are what really matter. Besides; we have enough magic that these things are easy to get."

Other CBers had talked to him about 'Ski Lodges'--a world of illusions that felt perfectly real, except for deaths, which occurred often in Ski Lodges. Deaths were painless. Every illusion was masterminded by a Ski Lodge Owner, and wouldn't end till the Ski Lodge did. They could create worlds of perfection and worlds of darkness with illusions. They enjoyed using their talents for the sakes of others.

So this was the Chatterbox. A world full of magic and happiness. And also the world that was currently under attack.

Realm continued across the road. His thoughts wandered through the Chatterbox much faster than his feet could. But one thing can distract you from the wondrous worlds of your thoughts, and that is your vision. And, in this case, Realm was distracted by a wolf.
