The Cliché RP

Well gee golly darn it, the Earth done goofed up and now there's a super evil baddie on the rise and wouldn't ya just know it, she/he's pretty much unstoppable!

BUT WAIT, WHAT IS THIS? A light on the horizon?  A new hope for humanity?  WHO CAN IT BE?

Why it's the classic team of RAGTAG SUPER COOL MISFITS WHO JUST AREN'T LIKE OTHER KIDS/YOUNG ADULTS!

*EXAGGERATED GAASSSSSSP*

Let's look at who we've got here! There's:

The TOTALLY NOT A MARY SUE main character with token flaws that don't affect or hurt them in any WAY!

The cool dark and brooding one who would be considered a jerk under any other circumstances but it's totally okay because he has a tragic PAST!

The genius who uses unrealistically long words (get out your thesaurus folks) and knows EVERYTHING (becuase that's how being smart works).

The comedic relief with virtually no character!

And anyone else imagineable!

...that's why it's subversive.

But whatever. Sure! They should be friends.

Also, though, Phoebe really needs some romantic drama, because that's what happens to that cheerleader stereotype.

if you're cool with it, we can have have Phoebe and Ceira start off as kinda of enemies and they don't get along very well, but they can slowly start to become friends, and then devolop feelings for each other?

Yes! Sure! Thank you for going along with my ideas for drama! That would be great.

oh, time to go to the archives of edgy villain characters! *gets extremely large book and drops onto non- exsistant table* let’s see here...

Name: Ffej, or Anti-Jeff (I’m so sorry)

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Cliche: big baddy who wants to rule the world

Additional Personality: Very edgy, and has exetreme galaxy powers, hates people who are named Jeff

Backstory: he use to be a part of the Jeff tribe, until he got bitten by the galaxy snake bear dragon mermaid and turned evil. His brother, Zen Jeff, needed to stop him, so they sealed him away into     -insert edgy evil demension-  Ffej got out, and now wants to take over the world

Skills: galaxy magic, and can move things with his mind. Has a AWESOME SUPER GALAXY sword and AWESOME SUPER GALAXY armor.

Good, evil, or neutral?: EVILLLLL

Ship: anything that lives and breaths.

Other: yes, this was an actual oc of mine, and he has a whole storyline. It’s called “elemental Jeff’s”

if anyone wants to imagine what Ffej looks like, um... think Max Griffin, from the Amulet series. (Google it-)

(November 24, 2018 - 11:12 pm)

Name: Brianna Who-Needs-A-Last-Name

Gender: Female; she/her

Age: Same age as her best friend

Cliche: The obligatory black best friend

Additional Personality: Generally just around to help out her best friend and get captured a lot. She makes fun of her best friend because she's a sassy gal, but would do anything for her, including set her up with her crush, prepare her for prom, and get captured by the villain. Repeatedly. Her own mental health is, of course, of no consequence.

Backstory: Backstory? What backstory? Does she even have parents? We're not sure.

Skills: Sewing, outfits, going "giiiiiirl" either disapprovingly or admiringly, being in distress

Good, Evil, or Neutral: Just trying not to die??

Ship: Probably has a crush on her bff's love interest. It's not going to work out.

Other: Needs to be friends with whoever the main girl ends up being! Let me know who that is, there seem to be some candidates?

Alrighty, let's do this.

Name: Nova Donniac

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Cliche: Comedic relief

Additional Personality: Very good at storytelling, can spin tales that make people react in whatever way he wants. Has told about twenty five different versions of how he lost his arm and leg (he keeps tally).

Backstory: When he was five, he was visiting his gandpa's farm and accidentally unlatched a gate while chasing a farm cat. When he caught the cat, it scratched him across the face, which made him scream, which startled the cows in the pasture, which made them stampede through the open gate. Nova was caught in the stampede of cows, and lost his left arm and his right leg. (For more details, see "other")

Skills: Making other people laugh, making other people cry, storytelling, and false complements that are really cleverly hidden insults that you don't understand until quite some time later.

Good, Evil, Neutral: Good, I guess. At least, he hangs around with the good guys. But, to be honest, if one of the bad guys had a good point and/or a plate of cookies, he'd might go with them.

Ship: Open to shipping with anyone.

Other: Due to his backstory, he has three scars below his eye, from the cat swiping at him, and since he's in a wheelchair sometimes when he doesn't feel like walking, he never gets tired of telling people that he "paid an arm and a leg for this wheelchair".

This is a very irresponsible decision, as I most definitely do not have time to contribute frequently. HOWEVER...

Name (probably super unique and exotic): Birk Backstab

Gender: Male.

Age (probably unrealistically young): 32. (This type of character is sometimes older than the heroes.)

Cliché: Anti-heroic, wisecracking mercenary.

Additional Personality (not too much of this beyond the cliché):

Realist, disillusioned with life and the universe overall. Lives for today, thinks of himself first. Sarcastic, funny with a dry sense of humor. Acts as antiheroic foil to the heroes, is often discouraging and makes fun of what he sees as naive positivity.

Despite his philosophy of realism, he undergoes an unexpected (and unexplained) change of heart near the end and returns at the last possible minute to support the heroes in their optimistic battle of idealism. Despite this epiphany, he never entirely relinquishes his dubious lifestyle or his sense of humor.

Backstory (probably very tragic):

Birk bears the burden of a turbulent past, but we don't know much about it because he's very secretive, and, more importantly, because it doesn't matter much to the story. All we need to know is that Birk's careless ambiguity is obviously a coverup for his guilt and emotional hangups. Since his present and future, as well as his past, are largely composed of things to be ashamed of, it's really a pretty messed-up situation that nobody in the story has time for, and wouldn't be so easily navigated in real life.

Skills (lay it on thick!):

Birk is a jack-of-all-trades, handling all manner of weapons, from knives to home-made tank missiles. He's a master inventor, cobbling together unbelievably superpowered mechanisms at the drop of a hat. He's strong, quick, smart, and survival-oriented, and never drops his guard.

Good, Evil, or Neutral:

Neutral.

Ship (let's get ourselves a love triangle):

Probably not. If he's attached, it's to a relatively minor character, or someone from his secret past.

Other:  Dirk is of medium height and build, with dark hair and a 5-o-clock shadow. He wears makeshift armor and really nice boots (don't ask me why). And probably an eyepatch.

Hmm, I can’t decide whether to do the one who’s always been wronged but is still always super nice and supportive or their counterpart, the one who will! Not! Stand! For! It! Are we allowed to do two?

Why not two? (just my idea, so no pressure) but you could have them be twins, one boy and one girl, and one of them could be really optimistic and the other pessimistic just an idea though, so...yep.

If you haven't already reserved or posted, I'm going to close off submissions.  I'm having SO much fun reading all of the characters :)

Anyway, here's mine!

Name: Professor Seshat Germaine, MD

Gender: Female

Age: 39

Cliché: The hardened older (but not too much if we're going by YA novels here) and wiser mentor who is infuriatingly indirect and witholding of information.

Additional Personality:  Seshat has visions for a "better future" like the days of the past (because she's SO OLD, right? *cough cough sarcasm*).

Backstory: In the early days of the resistance, Seshat was one of the forerunners.  Ffej's army found out about her, and came after her while she was teaching a class at a college.  They made the classroom go BOOM, but wouldn't ya know it, Seshat escaped just in time!

She's wracked with guilt and a lust for revenge about the students who didn't make it out, thus totally justifying her to be completely distrustful of and cold to everyone because she doesn't want them to become targets by giving them too much information.

Skills: She knows medicine inside and out, has a military background (because why not) and thus she's well-versed in weapons handling, and also knows plenty of chemistry.  Because all science is the same thing, right?

Good, Evil, or Neutral: Good

Ship: None

Other: She'll pick an obvious favorite, one of the hero types. @Annabeth, either or both of your characters would be really good for the favorite.  Is that okay with you?

@Esthele, want Seshat and Birk to have some sort of history?  Maybe a feud, but mutual respect or something?
