Chatterbox: Inkwell

Every story has to end sooner or later, that is the truth of this world. But many stories told here on the Chatterbox, I'd say the vast majority of them, in fact, die out well before their time. Loose ends are cast aside before they can be properly tied up. Once a few people stop supporting the tower, the whole thing crumbles. I am of course speaking of the ingenious yet ephemeral form of literature: the roleplay.

The main focal point of RPs are the characters, but they often revolve around plot mysteries to keep things interesting. The example I'll use is General Waffleson's "Into the Nova RP", as it was one that I participated in earlier this year. The big mystery of that particular story was what we would find beyond the Nova, a giant portal at the edge of our solar system. Unfortunately, that question never came close to being answered and likely never will.

So tell me. What are some RPs you were invested in, that gave you burning questions that were never answered, or introduced mysteries that were never solved? And if you were the creator of one of these forgotten tales, what was your original plan for the plot line?

P.S: Admins, since you read everything that's posted here, I'm curious, are there ever RPs that genuinely interest you, and are you ever disappointed when they are abandoned?

Yes, I find some of the settings and plots really enticing. Chatterbox writers are so creative and skillful!

I was really interested in the Horror Hotel RP, but maybe just because it was my first.  I had a plan for my character and I knew a lot of other people did too.   In fact, each character was kind of their own private mystery with all the heavy focus on backstory!

Well, my original plan was to make it where the Nova was actually a portal that would basically teleport you guys to the other side of the universe, and you'd have to stop on an alien planet to regroup and stuff. Turns out, the Nova was created by a previous scientific expedition into deep space where somebody set up a particle collider and it exploded and stuff, yadda yadda yadda.

Sadly, I haven’t kept tabs on many past role plays, but currently, one RP I’d prefer not to lose is the ‘Cliche’ thread. That’s probably because it’s one of the few I’ve actually participated in. I mention it, because the last comment posted in the last 5 days or so is of the ‘Topping’ variety. That can’t be a good sign.

I made an RP called Lost Magic RP, and my plan was for them to find the lady who connected the two worlds, but she couldn't bring them back to thier world and their origional form- they still had the magic within them. Cheesy, I know.

I've always wondered what would have happened in BalletandBow's Redone Harry Potter RP (we were basically RPing Harry's fifth year with a Hogwarts only Triwaizard tournament.)  It was a cool plot idea, that died before the champions were announced, and I wish I knew what BalletandBow had planned for the different tasks.

There was also a RP that had characters from various fandoms trapped on a dessert island, that died fairly early on, which I wonder about.
