Sanvri. It may

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Sanvri. It may

Sanvri. It may seem a strange world to you, with many known things being flipped upside down as it would seem. Nevertheless, you live here. Mayhaps you are a human, an elf, a dwarf, a gnome, perhaps a halfling, or one of the dragon-kin. No matter who you are, or where you have come from—you will shape the world.

So. Who are you? Are you an elf? The elves are a horse people, and can speak to their horses. The horses live as long as they do—about 300 years. High elves live in cities, raising powerful lines to be the horses of heroes; viri horses. Wood elves live in the wilds as nomads, raising the fleetest, most sturdy horses to walk this earth. However, some high elves speak of splitting: they want to live in mountain halls, as if they were dwarves. They want to breed what they call ‘draft’ horses and smaller, stronger horses. All grown (45 years or older) elves have their own horse, a true friend and partner to them. Chosen from their parents herd, this is how they will start their own line of horses. They tend to live in western wooded Dekita, Tamren, and Hanye.

For each of these, they move to a new island, and take part in a new ceremony. The Ka Moku Moku are always on the move, with most of their livelihood in their canoes. You people of this "inkwell" could call this a 'solo write' crossed with a 'simulator'. I will tell you what happens to your people. At times, you will be required to answer a question in order for me to tell more. Otherwise, that person will be stuck in a time loop. And that’s not fair to them.

I will need the following information to be able to find this person you speak of to track them. Please give me as much information as possible. Some of your answers may end up needing to be adjusted in order to find the person, if you have been accidentally misinformed of a piece of culture, etc, etc.

What is their name?

Race?

Age?

Male or Female?

Where are they from?

Where do they live now?

Who were their parents? (Please, do not be afraid to tell me of half-race heritage.)

What did their parents do for a living?

What relatives of theirs are alive, and which are they in contact with?

What does this person do for a living? (If applicable.)

Do they enjoy their work?

What does this person look like?

Are they married?

Do they have children? (If applicable.)

What is the one thing they want most?

How would you describe their personality? (A trifling detail, if you do not answer, their personality may change and you may not recognize the person, even if I do.)

What skills do they have?

What do they think about magic?

Additional information would be appreciated, but I do not think necessary.

Once this message appears, I will give you the map of the world, so that you might have a better idea of where everything is located. Please, excuse me for giving almost too much detail. I will begin telling you of the history as soon as the first person fully appears. Additional people will be added until I say that’s enough. The tale, too, ends when it ends.

Turns out I still exist here. I have said that your chance to write a reply would expire. I am revoking this (not that I think anyone actually noticed this ...). Anyways. I still exist, but the time which I was using to write this was lost. So I am trying to find a new time, and I am here to promise that I will post, and I have one part which is almost ready. Many thanks for topping, friends. I will return shortly.

Pyferni stepped through the crowd, keeping one hand on Nofi’s head in order to keep track of her. “I honestly have no idea what sort of a friend you might be looking for.” Pyferni said to Nofi. “I’m not very certain either.” Nofi whinnied. Pyferni sighed, but smiled. No one knew what a friend could or would be like.

"Do you just want to walk around and talk to the horses as we go by?” Pyferni asked, glaring at a High Elf male who had just bumped into her without apologizing. “If you don’t mind …” Nofi nickered softly. Pyferni shrugged. “If that’s the best way you can tell, then it’s fine."

"Thank you.” Nofi neighed. She pulled in front of Pyferni, prancing through the crowd. “Fresh buns! Hot, fresh buns!” A hawker cried. “Beautiful Akaribon silks!” Pyferni tried to tune the noises out. The wilds could be loud, but she was used to them. Not—this. A noisy crowd, screaming about senseless things—very different from the forest. A crowd of young men stood around the same enclosure as Nofi was. Nofi had begun to speak to a handsome ebony stallion, and both seemed to like the other fairly well.

There were a good ten or fifteen men crowded around, speaking to the stall owner or examining the horses. They all looked to be just grown, or not quite. One of them hung back, as if wary of the group, and yet part of the group. An omega of the pack. She couldn’t help it. Her mind flickered to the analogy, and she knew it fit perfectly. It didn’t necessarily mean that the other men were bad, but she didn’t feel safe around them.

Especially not when she saw their weapons.

Or as they began to speak to Nofi. Nofi’s ears flattened back, as her gaze flickered back and forth between the stately ebony stallion she had been speaking to and the group of men. A tall, rather lithe elf seemed to head the group and their rude remarks. He had black hair, dark grey eyes, and lightly tanned skin. Pyferni guessed that he was half wood elf, half high elf. He glanced towards her, and Pyferni realized that he had the same facial structure as the runt in the back. Pyferni stepped forward, lips tight, placing a hand on Nofi’s back.

"Is this your little brute?” The man said, a grin on his face, indicating Nofi. “Leave the poor mares alone.” Snorted the black stallion. "Yeah, listen to the horse, Rafen!" One of the other men called, and their group erupted with laughter. Nofi stepped back, and nuzzled Pyferni’s hand.

Sorry for the tardiness! And I also apologize if the following piece sounds an awful lot like Sarah J. Maas, whose books (the Throne of Glass series, namely) I've been reading a lot of lately.

"Nofi," said Pyferni in a cool, harsh tone, stroking the horse in question, "is not a brute. And neither are any of these other horses, none of whom could ever do anything to deserve being owned by you jerks. Speaking of which, who are you?"

Who's your favorite character? How far are you into the series? Have you read A Court of Thorns and Roses yet?

Sorry for the explosion, I'm just happy that someone else likes the same series that I do.

Faolan nodded at Zita’s words. The guild sounded interesting. Lately, more and more people had creating and joining guilds. He was glad to see that there were now so many ways that people could be helped—and that the guild was willing to help Isaac find a job which he could do and enjoy despite his physical handicap. Faolan felt more than willing to allow his brother another chance at the life that had been stolen from him.

"It’s fine, Zita!” He said, cutting through her words. She sighed, but smiled at him, a lopsided, chiding grin. “If you’re sure that you’re not busy …” She offered. Faolan barked a short laugh, throwing his head back. “Honestly, I’ve got very little to do now.” He said, grinning at his sister-in-law. “Thank you, Faolan.” She said, her eyes shining. “I’m sorry for the short notice.” She said, nodding her head, then turning to Finnegan before Faolan could say anything. “Finne—who are you talking to? Come on, it’s time to go home!"

Finnegan was speaking to a girl who looked to be somewhere around the boy’s age. And a rather pretty girl at that. Faolan stifled a chuckle. “Don’t go! Not yet!” The girl cried, as Finnegan turned to follow Zita. Finnegan compromised by walking backwards. “I’ll be back!” He cried, then ran towards his mother, putting an arm around her to hug her.

Only Faolan saw the crumpling of her face, a split second of almost despair, then a forcing back of the tears, but one glinting in the sunlight. Faolan stepped towards his workbench, grabbing his satchel, then hurrying to the house, where the wagon and horse were.

Then it was a short ride through the busy streets to the outskirts of the town. The airships would float or land in a large meadow nearby which was expressly for the airships, or as the locals called them, the beasts. Normally, Faolan enjoyed the ride. To a certain extent. There are certain smells which don’t go away easily. He found himself thinking about the girl. There was something strange about her which he couldn’t put his finger on.

She had worn fine clothes. The world had seemed new to her. She had been glancing around as if seeing everything for the first time when she had been speaking to Finnegan. And she had strange eyes. Ice blue, only a shade removed from being white. Faolan shivered, then chuckled to himself.

He was being silly. That was all.

When he arrived, there were no beasts in the field. It couldn’t have been the wrong time. Zita was especially good at keeping time straight.

(March 29, 2019 - 1:27 am)

“Confound it!” Faolan grumbled to himself. He had rode all the way across town... but possibly something was wrong. The beasts weren’t hard to miss and Zita was fully reliable in her estimations. Though everyone makes mistakes. After a few moments of contemplation Faolon decided to ask around.

Excuse me, Ara. I know that it is unlikely that you would have read through all the back pages of this (game? story?) thing. In which case, I must say that I am no longer allowing characters unless they are male. The story is growing, thus making it harder and harder to insert new characters. I'm awfully sorry, but I will not accept Kiari.

However, I do not believe I have seen your name floating around the site. If this is the case, welcome! I hope you will stay awhile and enjoy some of the other games. Here is a link to help you with your journey: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/chirpatcricket/node/204967
