Empty Seas RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Empty Seas RP!

Empty Seas RP!

I know. *sigh* Another RP . . . more responsibility for me and others. But hey, they're super fun right?

---

The ocean is everlastingly empty.

No gently waving anenomes, no flamboyant fish with all the rainbow trapped beneath their scales --

Perhaps it was here once; it's gone now. And they, that is, the children, have never known it. All they know is straight blue and dark rock under their scaly feet. That and the white-stuff, the only living thing besides them, that clings to the rocks. On this they and their families feed.

When the serpents come, as they know they will . . . . . There will be no hope for any of the tribes, not Kolet, not Brayza, not Taxad, not Jae.

Some of their children, their finned, sclay, but still humanoid children (not merrows! Akwin knows not merrows!) must depart, go far to the east, and seek the serpents' lair -- ask them not to come.

Or seek the shore. But which of the Ocean Ones would dare do that?

---

Heh yeah whatever I came up with all that just now . . . hope it's OK.

First of all, THE RULES (yeah this RP has rules, yo!)

1) No swearing, of course, even in small ways (but you can make up pretend swear words especially for Ocean Ones to use; "sharkscale!" "fishbite!", etc.)

2) A maximum of 2 characters from each tribe, and they must be between the ages of 10 and 18.

The sheet is as follows:

Name:

Age:

Gender:

Tribe:

Appearance (I hope what I gave above is enough for how they're supposed to look):

Personality:

Other:

And here's my charrie:

Name: Ashva Orll

Age: 14

Gender: Male

Tribe: Taxad (which means only one more charrie for Taxad!!)

Appearnce: Light green/white scales, in fact almost minty. Long red wavy hair (it's hard to see he's a boy at first). Deep blue eyes, pointed chin, thin, large fins.

Personality: He doesn't like to let his feelings show. He can be pretty sharp, even among friends, and at other times he's really nice. He is quite proud and considers Taxad the best tribe of the Empty Seas.

Other: He would rather search for the shores of didtant lands than beg for help "from wretched sea stalkers!"

So long. See you in the Empty Seas.

@Jith I'm not starting the RP I was just thinking I'd put a little blurb of how and when Serpent got her name... Maybe they could give her a nickname when they find her? OOH COULD I WRITE THAT PART WHEN WE GET TO IT I HAVE AN IDEA THAT WOULD BE SO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE

Serpent~

I was young when I got my name. Very young. It couldn't have been more than a few hours after I hatched from my egg (*How are they born?). It was when I opened my eyes for the first time. There was a glow circling me, protecting me from the dark water and the creatures that lurked in it. It's face was serene, happy, majestic, noble, and somehow troubled, sad, and tragic at the same time. Such was the face of a Serpent. I could feel its essence, its soul, so to speak. I watched it, and it watched me. I remember that I was laying in my eggshell, which was black, matching my scaley hide.

To this day I marvel at the power of the Serpents, as they can detect and interact with the souls around them. They are practically mortal gods... Except there has been no evidence as to how they die. They heal wounds instantly, and they don't seem to age. They only "reach maturity', at which point their appearances stop changing. However, they continue to grow in size.

This Serpent was very large, at least to me, who, at that time, was very small. Suddenly, I heard its voice. It didn't actually talk, and its jaw didn't move, but there was no other living creature around.

"Hello, Serpent." It said. Somehow, I communicated back in the same way; through my soul.

"But you're the Serpent."

"It's your name, and for good reason. We are the same." I remember I tilted my head as the Serpent swam closer. A sudden blinding flash forced me to close my eyes. When I opened them again, the Serpent was gone, but I still felt its soul. That's when I looked down. My scales, each and every one of them individually, were glowing with the Serpent's Rune. It was in the middle of every scale. The glow faded slowly, and then I was alone in the dark. I remember I smiled that moment.

Thanks! I have a few design ideas fo the Serpents... I could draw and upload them if you'd like! Then, you could pick the one you like best, and I'll draw a Serpent's Rune to go with it!

I made a bit of a history for them.

About 50 years ago, all the tribes were one. Then, their king was killed. The people all had different views of the matter, so they split.

Brayza-against king; happy

Jae-thought that merrows (merpeople) killed king; wanted peace

Taxad-suspected Brayza; attacked them

Kolet-family and close friends of king; wanteed to grieve in peace

Kexlae-originally part of Brayza; broke off when leader of Brayza was accused of theft. (They were against the leader). Fought Kolet.

So, this is how the tribes get along:

Tribes that are friendly:

Kolet & Jae

Kexlae & Taxad

Brayza & Jae

Tribes that are not friendly:

Brayza and Taxad

Brayza and Kexlae

Kexlae and Kolet

All is peace now, of course. And it turns out that the Jaeans were also right in their assumptions about the king's death! So all nearly all the tribes except Kolet and Brayza don't really like the Jaeans, but they still get along.

Could I possibly do the makings of the tribe that Kaifu used to be in? I have some ideas on the topic that I'm dying to write out, but I won't do so without permission.

Certainly!

You can make them a sort of subtribe that branched out of one of the others if you want (like Kexlae) or just add to the history thing I did above.

A note on merrows:

Merpeople. Thought of as Barbarians by the Ocean Ones; very unciviized. They left with the marine life, but the tribes couldn't cuz they were, like, having a small war, so now they're just stuck here . . . .

Do you think of the Serpents as gentle divinity or rugged majesty?

Rugged majesty; they're planning to attack soon, ya know!

OH and I had this funny idea in mind that Serpent loves Ashva back but hates - legitimately - his long hair. Like, since she was born into survival, she wants to have a 'strong mate' and doesn't think Ashva's long hair made him look very masculine. That would be so funny to play with! HA what if she occasionally tried to cut his hair with the blades of her spears or something?? OH THIS GOING TO BE SUCH FUN! *Evil laugh*

Hmm. . . .

Oh, to Snape with the charries. They might be uneven, with 3 people in Kolet and 1 in Taxad, but whatevs we can still do this. Ella DOES need to turn in her charrie though.
