...and it was wondering if it had a brain.

"Do you think I have a brain?" the sentient squash politely asked his pumpkin kin around him in the field.

They did not reply.

...But the only reason they did not reply was because they wanted to fool people around the patch into thinking he was dumb.

With an idea like that, maybe they were!

But since the people didn't know, when October came, they went into the peaceful patch to carry all those silent pumpkins off and make pumpkin pie and jack-o'-lanterns out of them.

Then when the people ate the Jackolanterns aka pumkin pie , they felt something in there stomach ...like , voices...

They said:

-Being in a persons stomach is kinda cool right ?

-Yes , said the other  jack - o lantern ., and they stayed in the stomach .
