The Sunshatter.

Chatterbox: Inkwell

The Sunshatter.

The Sunshatter.

It was a name whispered one direction and another, on the smallest scraps of paper hidden about. It was so hated, so illegal. So unknown, so despised. What a pity for them.

Tirian's smaller government had quickly outlawed the group after their third 'mishap'. That was for the best, too. Word about what they were doing would spread more quickly that way. Nobody was quite sure what they really called themselves...Sunshatters? Sunshatterers? When in reality they had no real name other than the name of their group. The Sunshatter. Moon's children, they all were, relying on one thing or another to keep hidden...

~Lara~

Border of Lira-Eril counties. Midday. Weather cloudy. Slight effects of rain on streets.

I smiled, throwing my backpack over my shoulder and waving at the inside of the bus. I don't bother to look for someone waving back at me; I just hop out, my sneakers hitting a pudde.

The city around me incorporates tall, gray buildings. They're not used often, most of them awaiting further government assignment, or in use as occasional office space for the wealthy. A few of the buildings in this area had been abandoned completely. The Lira public library, my destination, was one of those places.

I glanced down at my reflection in a puddle for a few seconds, wondering if I looked like someone who should be wandering these streets. Probably not. I have auburn hair that borders mostly on the brunette side, and greenish eyes that are really more light brown than anything. I wore a regular light green hoodie and black leggings. Nothing there that says rich or assigned.

Then again, nobody walks these streets anymore. I turned a corner, spotting the old sign. Lira Public Library. It had been painted to look old-fashioned, but still held an ornate sun emblem under it. I pushed the door open, stepping inside. The room is cluttered with debris, but I don't care.

I know what I'm looking for.
