The guests mill around the room, eating, chatting, and bouncing apparent grapefruits on various objects. Baroness Teal, who was rather new to the group, went around introducing herself.

Nobody seemed particularly out of place- except for two. One was Prof. Gamboge, who seemed to hesitate a bit before giving his name. The second was the Knight of the Royals, who hastily introduced themself with a "Salutations, m'lady" before dashing off to inspect the bowl of grapefruits.

Royals plucked a grapefruity object from the bowl, bounced it a few times to ensure it was real, and then sliced it in midair- spraying juice on the disapproving Dr. Mauve.

"You're lucky I'm wearing such a dark color," she snapped, brushing herself off and moving to a different seat.

Mint, Malachite, Crimson, Ebony, and Alizarin were drifting in and out of conversation with each other- mostly about the weather, how delicious is this cake!- thank you for inviting us, your mask is lovely, what in heaven's name is Royals doing with that grapefruit, whyever did you bring so much yarn? As you'd guess! Just your basic typical ordinary conversation.

Maroon, Lilac, Violet, and Gamboge had known each other since their years in university and were sitting comfortably in a group of chairs in the corner, catching up with each other's lives. Outside it began to sleet.

Baroness Teal, meanwhile, was looking through the grapefruit bowl. Most of them were clearly wooden as soon as you touched them, but one as the bottom of the bowl was a bit softer. Glancing around to make sure no one was watching, she took out the softer grapefruit. It was real, and leaking quite a bit from a rough hole in the side that had been lying against the bowl.

Teal looked at the hole. There was a dark grey chunk of metal inside, as if someone has quickly jammed the thing into the grapefruit to hide it. She stuck her finger in to try to pull it out...

"Hi!" said Cerulean, carrying her cheese tray and a raspberry tart. "Would you like some ch- Wait, is there a hole in that grapefruit?"

Huh, the courtyard? Ok! I was... merely getting a breath of fresh air. And also maybe running away from the screams.

I see Madame Lilac walking back into the house out of the corner of my eye. I yell "hello?" but I don't think she heard me.

I'm a bit suspicious of Mauve. She looks like she has the habit of people-watching to a weird extent.

I pull my scarf a bit tighter around me. (is it still sleeting?) Maybe there's lightning or something too.

I start to look around the room for any sort of hidden weapons. I also eye my comrade Cerulean a little suspiciously. I want to trust her, but I wasn't too sure if she carried, or carries, any weapons of some sort.... so cautiously I ask: "Umm.... pardon me for asking, but do you know anything about um, sword techinques?"

"I wish!" I reply to Maroon. "Fencing is such a beautiful sport. Do you know anything about it? Maybe you could teach me! Oh my goodness! That would be so much fun! When are you free?" I realize what Maroon is doing. Somehow, I've made myself so suspicious that TWO people suspect me. I guess I'll just have to be so friendly that nobody would suspect me. "By the way, would you like some cheese?"

I am disappointed by the unchivalrous words of Mauve. *Hands begin to glow gently with magic* Magic is not something to be taken lightly. Being a knight, I use my magic, my weapons, and my armour only to protect. As for the story, I have no accusing fingers to point, I shall only watch for now.

I'd like to make it clear that the reason I went to the Parlor to investigate the grapefruit and see if there are any more objects hiding inside of them.

Since I have deducted that Violet is innocent, I would like to coerce her to become my assistant in solving the mystery of murder. (For all of you that don't know what that means, here is a translation: I am going to force Violet to team up with me, most likely through threats or intimidation. And NO I did NOT have to look up "coerce" on Google to see what it meant. Violet, dear, do try to keep up with me.)

I am unimpressed by the Knight's glowing hands (even though I technically can't see them because we aren't in the same room) and remind him that I am of a high class than he and that knights are meant to serve thier betters. I am not freaked out by the glowing hands. Most definetly not.

Out of Character:

Violet, you can do whatever you wish, Mauve is just a little overwhemling to write and that was what she wanted to say.

Knight, Mauve is mostly just mad about the grapefruit incident. She holds a grudge. Sorry. And she is totally freaked out by the glowing hands.

@Alizarine, can you post a few clues every once in a while, such as where Madam Alizarin was killed? Otherwise, it is just us making (grape)fruitless claims with hardly any evidence.

/Violet notices some footprints and, exploring, enters one corner of the hall

/madam Alizarin is hunched over in the corner.

/'hello?' Violet calls. Alizarin does not answer.

/'are you--'

/a small something whizzes past her head and sticks in the wall. Violet quickly grabs it, dodges.

/a second dart is thrown, which pricks her shoulder. she pulls it out, sees a drop of black liquid from the tip- but most of the dart's poison is gone.

/violet catches a final glimpse of black hair shooting around a corner before falling to the floor.

(Probably another update coming soon because I have no plans of abandoning this)

AHA! AHA AHA AHA! It's all adding up now! The weapons, the fact they were the first to post a full length RP post, the name itself--

I suspect Madame Lilac. I will accuse her, not yet, but I am very close to certain.

HOW DARE YOU KILL MY ASSISTANT! The murderer shall pay for this! Also, Violet, dear, this is the time where you reveal your identity. Assuming you really are dead. Is she dead? She was poisoned, so she is most likely dead.

I still suspect Royals, of course, due to his uncouth behavoir with the grapefruit. (And NO, I did NOT have to look up what uncouth meant on Google!)

Clues do seem to be pointing to Lilac, what with the weapons and all. By the way, if the poison darts were Lilac's, she only has two left... However, her location was in the courtyard and Madam Alizarin was almost definetly killed indoors(she could have been moved). She could have done it when going to the library or the parlor, to which she declined Prof. Gamboge's escort. BUT a scream happened while she and Gamboge were talking. And she was also not on the rooftop when the footsteps sounded. But did Madam Alizarin scream when killed? Did Violet?

Teal could possibly be pointing fingers at Lilac in order to cover up her own tracks. If you didn't notice, she has both weapons and a mask. And she covered up the grapefruit key. By the way, was her search for a secret passageway or something to fit the key (grape) fruitful?

Cerulean, Teal, Malachite, and any others who suspect me are falsely distrustful! I am obviously the only one here who knows what they're doing! I do have a degree in psychology, you know.
