It's 8:30 P.M. You're in the bathroom brushing your teeth when you here a tapping at the window. At first you ignore it, but it keeps on going, so you go over and look out. A little owl is making a dent in the window your dad just had replaced last summer. You open it to shew the bird away, but it flies in. It drops a sheet of paper and leaves.
You pick up the note and open it. 'Dear Cber,' it says in beautiful, red calligraphy, 'You and several other very extraordinary people have been chosen to form Project K. Project K will be a highly trained spy team. If you wish to join, be at Four Corners Farm at 3:30 on Saturday, March 28. Pack a suitcase and anything else you may want. Sincerley, Miranda Hawkins. "I don't know," Gale says, wincing at how uncertain her voice sounds. "I mean, I might be better at research, but field operative is an interesting choice. What would I be doing, as a research operative? Besides the obvious, of course..."
*I think her final answer is probably/maybe going to be research operative, given her skills set/personality. Just so you know :D*

I hope I can help you make the right chioce, so, think about your character's personality. Research operatives will still get plenty of stuff to do and exitment, but, as we all know, the more glamourous job is field operatve. If your character is willing to head write into danger, they will be wonderful feild operatives. Oh, and guys, you are free to be whatever you want, but I do need a research operative or two to really make the story good.

but if everyone else wants to be a field operative that's fine. I'll just go with the flow ;)

"T-The research would b-b-be fun.." I say again, trying not to draw attention, but how can I? I'm wearing all black, and I have black hair with white tips. Of course I stand out.
Just keep your head down, they won't notice how disusting you are, Orchid.

A hot tear fell on my hand, and I wiped my face, mascara all messed up, I looked worse. I ddin't have to look in the mirror. No one had seen my face yet. Since I always kept it down.
My shoulders shook, and soon enough...
I was crying.
"I'm worthless..." I stood up and walked over to my room, and opened the door.
"Orchid?' It was Lan's voice. He knocked.
"Go away, please," I said pressing my hands on the door harder. "JUST GO AWAY!"
I heard footsteps trailing off.
Slumping on the floor, I just laid there. And cried. I fell asleep on the floor, my hair covering my face. I didn't want to be seen.
My mother was right.
I was ugly.

People start calling out their decisions, while Miranda nods and makes notes. Through the chaotic, excited mass of people, I notice a girl walking quickly away, crying quietly. Orchid, I think her name is. Wanting to make her feel better, I jog after her, following her down the hall to her room. As I near her door, I notice Lan walking away from it, shaking his head.
"She wants to be left alone," he says to another girl behind me, who I guess also wanted to help Orchid.
I get that, sure. I mean, when I'm angry, I get kinda violent, so I've learned to keep my distance from people when I feel mad. But... I feel like there's something else going on with Orchid besides anger. I don't know how I know that. I've not been known to be good at dealing with other people's emotions. But somehow... I don't know, I just have a feeling about this.
I walk up to Orchid's door and knock. "Are you okay?" I ask quietly.

"Ooh, I'll be a Research Operative, please." It doesn't sound quite as awesome as being a Field operative, but hey, still cool. Plus, most everyone else went with field.
One of the girls next to me asked about gymnastics, but when I'm responding to her, I notice another girl (Orchid, I believe) getting upset. She runs to her room. Ash and another girl come after her, and I excuse myself and go join them. When I get there, Ash is knocking at her door. "Are you okay?" she asks gently.
"Go away," Orchid sobs, "please."
"Orchid, we don't want you to be upset all alone," I say quietly. "You don't have to tell us what happened. We just want to make sure you're alright."
