again. The boy's eyes were all-black, glistened like reflecting sunglasses or, in a term more fitting to this world, giant beetles. There weren't sunglasses here. The guards pressed them into a cell facing the creepy boy, much to Sophie's horror. YUTOA!

Kia trudged along the dirt road, looking for a nice place to sit. Oh! That looks like a good spot. She slumped under a tall tree that cast a lot of shade. She pulled out a granola bar and nibbled at it, scanning the road. She hadn't seen a soul since falling through the lake and ending up here. "Hey. Can I have one?" She looked up, startled. "Huh? Oh, sure." She handed a tall boy with ears like stillettos a bar. "Ah, thanks." He settled against a tree and bit into it.
Kia stared at the fairy as he brushed crumbs from his clothing and stood to leave. "Hey. Aren't you gonna give me something for my generosity?" She claped her hand over her mouth in shame the minute the words crossed her lips. "Would if I could, kid, times are hard." He limped away.

Ah, sorry 'bout that.
Avra brushed her fingers lightly across the tome to clean the dust off.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" She screamed as a gut-wrenching pain pulled her across the sky.
When she woke up, there was a boy looking in her face. He turned and spoke to someone Avra couldn't see. "The girl's awake. Now can we leave?" Avra pulled herself into a sitting position.
"No, brother, can't you see how weak she is?"
Avra couldn't see the speaker.
She looked around, sending a wave of pain through her head.
"Cleaning something off. Classic. You should be more careful, girl."
