DIFFERENT WORLD ROLEPLAY

The world was chaotic. Everyone screamed and ran around, hands waving… the King laughed. Typical, silly humans. He turned away from the mirror and placed his hands on the crystal diamond on his desk. The clear surface swirled with dark power, purple energy snapping and crackling, and the mirror behind him showed a giant purple vortex opening in the middle of the city… the King laughed, clear and cold, channeling more energy into the diamond. The vortex grew, swallowing buildings, people… The King had achieved his goal.

Hazel screamed, clutching to a section of a broken building, her lower body flailing from the pull of the vortex behind her. She had to get away, but she was stuck, if she let go of the building, she would get pulled into the vortex… but if she didn't move, the vortex would swallow her anyway. She tried to adjust her grip… and that's where she made her fatal mistake. Hazel flew backward into the vortex.

Ray hustled the citizens into an abandoned military bunker. She knew they would have a chance of surviving here… unlike the millions of others already consumed by the vortex. Ray made sure the people stopped crying and raced back out into the storm… only to get sucked into the vortex.

The Watcher stared into his pool of dirty water. Images rippled across the surface; a brown-haired girl getting yanked into the King’s vortex, a girl with black hair with sunset-colored tips somersaulting through the vortex… buildings getting enveloped by purple energy… people screaming as their cars were pulled off the road into the vortex… the vortex. The Watcher hated it, despised it. It was the worst of the King’s creations that The Watcher had ever seen… and he had seen them all. The Watcher had been trapped in the King’s tower prison for 100 years… and he wasn't getting out anytime soon.

Luna~

Luna tried to scream. Ugh, it was just her luck. First she got teased and blew up- not literally, fortunately- got in trouble with her teacher for blowing up, and then got lost in the woods, and finally, she fell into the vortex. I’m not going to die, I’m not going to die… that was all she could think to tell herself as she was falling, seeing the purple sheet of energy loom up, glowing eerily… and then the pain started. She couldn’t yell, she couldn’t scream… she couldn’t even think. Gasping for breath, she whispered a name. “Aurora… AE.” The owl. Finally. She could breathe again. “NO. it’s not possible.... AUGHHHH!!!!” Everything dissolved into pain again. “AE…” And then, like it was being washed away by the purple… it faded. Luna thought she saw an owl-shaped silhouette falling with her. She closed her eyes…

“Umph!” Luna cracked open her eyes and rubbed her head. She saw that there was something on top of her. It was a… girl?! “What are you doing on top of me?” she groaned. “Sorry, sorry… I didn’t mean to… I fell through the vortex,” the girl said, clambering off of Luna’s stomach. Both of them sat up. “What’s your name?” the other girl asked. “What’s yours?” Luna countered. “I’m Ray.” The other girl grinned as she said it. “Oh. Well, I’m Luna-Selene. But you can call me Luna. I’m kind of obsessed with the moon if you can’t tell from my name.” Ray seemed nice but… oh no. Where was AE?

Luna shrieked. Ray’s grin turned into an expression of alarm. “What is it?” she asked. Luna didn’t answer. “Oh, AE… please be okay, please please please,” she muttered, clearly on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Ray grabbed her arm. “What’s happening? Are you looking for your alter-ego? It’s okay, maybe I can help you look.” Luna took a deep breath. “It’s AE- Aurora-Eos. She’s not my alter-ego. She’s an owl, and my one of two friends. Well, one of three if you’re also a friend. I NEED to find her. Oh AE…” She sat down and rubbed her eyes. “I’m sorry, I know I’m being ridiculous…” But she burst into tears all the same.

Oh okay. That's a great idea.

AE is a female little owl (that is a species, I'm not making it up. Oh and also I'm not like a bird expert or anything, I just like them. when I need to be specific, I google it) with grey and white speckled feather and large (she's an owl) yellowish-red-brown eyes. (more yellow than red)

~Vortex~

Vortex glided soundlessly up the staircase, wishing he could supress the glow. He eased the door open as quietly as he could and observed the King's room.

It was a large room, but otherwise it wasn't much different from any other room. There was a throne at the far end of the room, a mirror, and a desk... on which sat a glowing jewel.

Vortex caught his breath. Intrigued, he slid forward and inspected it. Purple light reflected off his wide, dark eyes as he gazed at it in wonder. This is the thing that created the vortex? he wondered. He reached out a clawed hand and touched it lightly. Power fizzled inside of it, and he heard something behind him. Turning around, Vortex saw that the vortex had grown ever-so-slightly bigger. Chunks of buildings flew into the purple storm.

Vortex turned back to look at the diamond again, his excitement mounting. This thing is so powerful. With just a touch of my hand. I could wreck buildings, or conquer a war, or--

Suddenly Vortex's ears picked up the sound of footsteps. Right outside the door. Vortex completely forgot about the diamond and backed up, his heart pounding. Suddenly he remembered the window he'd looked at the vortex through; he spun around, slid it up and jumped out. He flung out his crimson wings and caught the air. Then he flapped back up to the window and closed it; then he doved toward the ground.

Vortex landed on the vibrant grass outside the castle and looked around. He needed to get to the entrance of the castle so he could get back in. He started walking in that direction.

But now he knew something. That diamond is incredibly powerful.

I want it.

I suggest not posting twice in a row, but that's your choice. I just think posting twice in a row doesn't always let other people post.

Anyways. I love the way you ended that post.

Wren~

"Dear Wren,

I hope you will understand that the matter I am going to speak of in this letter is highly sensitive, if you wish to keep reading, you must swear never to tell anyone about this.

Wren paused, what was Vortex talking about? She knew she should put the letter down, but she was too curious.

Well, I assume this means you're going to keep this letter secret, in that case I need to ask you to join me in an effort to stop this madness by overthrowing the king. A small band of servants, with me as their leader, are planning a revolt, to put a better man on the throne.

So, the question is, will you join me?

Wren dropped the letter, disbelief flooding her mind. As much as she hated the king for what he had done, she distrusted Vortex even more. And yet, one of the main reasons she distrusted him was because he seemed to be sneaking around a lot, but if he was sneaking around because of this, then maybe he wasn't so bad.

She was torn. but she decided she needed to talk more with Vortex about this. she tore up the letter and threw it away, then headed out to find Vortex.

She looked and looked for him, but couldn't find him anywhere, finally as she was walking by the entrance to the castle she heard someone knocking on the door. She looked through a notch in the wood and saw Vortex.

She swung the door open,

"Vortex, what are you doing out there?"

He seemed not to hear her, as if he was thinking about something else. She waved her hand in front of her face and he seemed to suddenly realize she was there.

"Oh, hi Wren, did you read my letter?"

"Yeah, and that's what I need to talk to you about."

"Ok"

"Well, for one thing, are you serious, or is this some kind of joke. And for another thing, if I were to join you, what would I be doing?"

Vortex smiled "I am serious, and as for what you would be doing...

~Ray~

~Ray~

The girl I landed on, Luna, looks around frantically. She keeps muttering something about ‘AE’. I get up and stretch, looking around. Seems like I landed on a grassy hill speckled with wildflowers. There’s a castle in the distance, maybe it has shelter? No, this is a strange place I don't know and I should be cautious. I yawn, wishing for the hundredth time I had stayed in the bunker. Luna comes over. “We should-” she sniffs. “Find shelter.” I nod, and so we start walking, over the grassy hill and through a meadow. “AE would love this…” luna mutters, and she sniffs again. We keep walking. Then I see something in the distance… a person. They have a fluffy lump on their head, and they seem to be coming toward us. I wish i had a weapon, this person could be dangerous! Maybe the fluffy thing is a bomb-no, it's just a girl around my age with an owl on her head. I lower my hands, which automatically flew up into a karate stance, and walk forward. Suddenly Luna gasps. She sprints toward the girl. “AE!!!” she shouts, and the owl flies over, sitting on her arm. That must be her owl. The girl has sat down, picking grass out of her hair. She seems out of it, like she doesn't even know we’re here. “Hello?” I say, and she looks up, her eyes coming into focus-and that's where I pause. Her eyes… they’re not exactly normal. She’s not exactly normal, in fact.  She has light purple irises, and threads of gold snaking through her brown hair. “Hey… who are you?” she says, plucking a flower from the ground and tucking it behind her hair. “Ray. your…” I say, waiting. “Hazel, nice to meet you. Sorry, I was thinking about the vortex.” she replies, and leans back on the grass. “The vortex? You fell through it too?” I almost shouted. “Yeah… wait, ‘too’? You came through the vortex?!?” she says, sitting up again, her purple eyes boring into mine. I nod. Hazel stands. “Has anyone else noticed the castle?” she asks, turning to Luna after I nod. Luna shakes her head. “Look, over the next ridge.” Hazel points toward the castle and Luna’s eyes widen. “We should get to a safe place, if there are any.” I say, tugging on Luna and Hazel’s hands. And so they walked off toward who knows where.

Admins, if you can, please change the name of this RP to Different world RP! if you can't, that fine. but we would really like if yu did, since we need some more charries on this, and I think if it sad different world RP, then more people would look and submit charries. thanks!

I tried.  The reason it shows up as . . . is because the beginning of your submission has space before the title. It was submitted as centered instead of at the top left of the comment window. I tried reformatting, but I still can't get rid of that space. You could resubmit the whole thing and put the titie first thing at the top left.

~Hazel~

I turn around, squinting at the palace in the distance. I decided to investigate, my curious side getting the better of me. So, stretching out my rather short legs, I jogged lightly down the hill. Halfway down, a fluffy, small shape landed on my head. An owl! A small owl with grey and white speckled feathers and large yellowish-red-brown eyes. (more yellow than red) looked at me, and then the owl hopped off my head, did a loop around me, her beautiful wings beating the air, and then she landed on my head again. I smiled slightly and kept jogging, except slower so I didn't disturb the owl, who was sleeping on my head. Maybe my messy brown hair made a good nest. After a while I slowed to a walk, my side burning and  my breath coming in short gasps. When it just was too much, I flopped down beneath a tree and closed my eyes. Almost instantly I fell asleep.

Voices. Sounds. They surround me. And I am falling through them.

Conversations. Noises. They surround me. And I am falling through them.

A brightly lit living room… three kids sitting behind the couch… clutching to each other, hearing the shouts from the other room… one of them is me. And then the voices grow louder and the youngest kid starts to cry, the oldest trying to muffle the sobs and then a tall, golden-brown haired man strides through the doorway, not looking back, holding a bag, his dark purple eyes narrowing as he rushes outside the house. The door slams. The child wails, her lavender eyes filling with tears. The other children have purple eyes as well, all different shades. And from the kitchen, sobbing.

I wake up, gasping. Dreams shouldnt be memories. Why can't I just be normal, dreaming about a crush or pizza? Again, my lavender eyes fill with tears. The owl leans over, no longer asleep, and looks at me. I wipe my eyes and stand up, the owl sitting on my head again. “Cmon, owl, lets go.” i said, and we walked off.

yeeeeeeeeeeee hope you like it
i havent been posting too much, i have a solo write that is taking up alot of my time, but ill try and post ocasionally.

~Vortex~

Vortex broke off and glanced behind him, across the rolling fields beyond the castle. He could've sworn he'd seen some people moving across the sea of green out of the corner of his eye, but Wren spoke again. "If you're plotting to fight back against the King, why not give some sign?"

Vortex turned back around, focusing on Wren. "I did," he said, grinning. "To the people I'd already asked to join me."

Wren rolled her eyes. "And what are we going to do if you failed?"

This struck Vortex. He'd been so sure that when he struck, he would win. A small spark of doubt kindled in his mind. What if I don't suceed in this mission? he wondered.

More shapes danced in the corner of his vision and he flared his wings, whirling around to stare. The specks were distant, but they were there. He squinted. "Don't you see people out there?" he asked Wren.

"All I see is the inside of your wing," she said; Vortex realized too late that one of his wings was pressing against Wren's face. He closed them and pointed.

Wren looked, then shook her head. "I don't see anything."

"Look again."

Wren shook her head. "I've had enough of your craziness. First you tell me to help you overthrow the King, and now you're seeing weird shapes?"

She left him on the steps.

Vortex looked back, unsure. He was sure that he'd seen people. He shook his head to clear it and went back inside the castle.

Okay, seriously. WHY did I choose to do this in some weird second person point of view? (I actually have no idea if that last post WAS even in second person! AHHHH)! I’M SWITCHING TO FIRST PERSON!!!

Luna~

I stroked AE’s feathers. These two girls- Ray and Hazel- seemed trustworthy- which complicates things. Usually, my first reaction to meeting new people is to clam up and… well, be shy. But you can’t exactly do that after you’ve fallen through a vortex and met two girls, one of which just found your owl and the other one helped you look for it. Sooooo… I’m going to try to be less shy then usual.

And that castle Hazel had talked about? Why hadn’t I noticed it? And also, WHY WAS IT HERE?! It for sure didn’t look safe. I decided to say so. “Um. We’re looking for a safe place, yes?” Ray nodded, her eyes still searching. “Can someone confirm that the castle isn’t that safe place?” I said it in a small voice. Hazel stared at me. “No, of course not. I’m pretty sure that’s the most UNsafe place we could be.” I sighed in relief. “That’s what I thought, too.” I sounded like an actual person this time, not just a mouse, which is what people often compare my voice to.

“Hey, I never got your name.” I look around to see who said it, but then I realized it was Hazel, still staring straight ahead with… PURPLE eyes?! My mouth fell open. I closed it immediately. “Wha- oh. I’m Luna-Selene- but just call me Luna. My parents were obsessed with the moon. Actually, I am too.” I see Ray’s eyebrow go up on the word “were,” but I don’t feel like explaining.

Suddenly, a scream pierces the air. It’s actually more of a shout, but it’s scary all the same. We all stop. Hazel’s eyes are narrowed in the direction of the shout, but Ray is looking at me, because I’m pretty sure my face has gone completely white with shock. I know that voice…
