Luckily, the floor was carpeted, and cats always land right side up. The kitten yawned and peered up curiously to where she had been sleeping. Suddenly a crash echoed in the hall.

In the hall stood her human, grinning wildly over a smashed vase. She sighed inwardly and stepped over the shards and mewed. Her human leaned down and picked up the biggest shard.
