Camp Half-blood roleplay?

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Camp Half-blood roleplay?

Camp Half-blood roleplay?

So, uh, I kind of vanished, and as I usually do when I return, I decided to make a roleplay. I'm taking a mythology class right now and we're going over Greek mythology, and it made me want to make a Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus roleplay. Now, of course, it's been about three years since I've read either series, and I never actually finished Heroes of Olympus, so I might get a few things wrong. This roleplay is more like an alternate timeline anyways. Or just far enough in the future that the events taking place in them simply don't effect anything anymore.

Rules--

1. Your charries can be satyrs, nymphs, or demigods. However, the demigods godly parents can only be GREEK gods, just to keep things from getting too confusing.

2. You can have up to five charries.

3. We'll start when there is five people total (including me!)

4. Don't roleplay as canon characters (because obviously, they aren't our characters to use.) Now of course, there may be a few characters we have to use, however, characters like Chiron and the gods themselves are characters from Greek mythology so they don't really belong to Rick Riordan anyways.

5. The godly parents don't have to be main gods! You can totally have a character who is the child of, say, one of the Graces, or Iris, or something.

6. Anyone can join even after we've started, just read through the roleplay so you're caught up on things.

7. We'll figure out the plot as we go.

Here's the character sheet:

Kyung-Soon~~

Kyu gazed up at the camp, feeling both amazed and overwhelmed. So much had happened to her in the past four days--she'd met Adair, who turned out to be some kind of goat-human mix called a "satyr", and he told her that her mother was actually a Greek goddess.

Unfortunately, neither he nor Kyu's dad knew which Greek goddess it was.

But Adair had taken her here, a place he called Camp Half-blood--a summer camp just like the ones most parents sent their kids off to when they wanted a break from them. Except this one was for demi-gods. Adair led Kyu closer, and she couldn't help but stare at everything. It was bizarre to her that a place like this could exist.

Just then, a small group of people approached them. One of them stepped forwards. "Welcome to Camp Half-blood! What's your name?"

"Kyung-Soon, but you can call me Kyu."

~~

Kind of a boring start, but oh well. Anyone can be the person(s) greeting Kyu!

Here's my second charrie!

Name: Leigh Burnet

Gender/Pronuons: Male, he/him

Godly Parent: Eris (goddess of strife)

Personality: Comedic, a bit of a loner, a pranker and schemer.  He tends to take pleasure in other people's misfortune, especially his enemies'.

Appearence: Light brown skin tone, tall, messy black hair, olive-green eyes.  Always wears a pair of golden-apple shaped earrings, which were a gift from his mom.  These have special cloaking powers.

Skills/Abilities: No magical abilities but an expert at pranks and starting arguments.  He has a proficiency with small weapons like daggers or throwing stars.

Years they've been attending Camp: This is his fist year, he's very new.  He's 14 years old.

Backstory: As a kid living with his single dad, he would always try to help out, but that always ended up creating conflict.  He couldn't handle causing his father so much hardship, so he ran away when he was 12 and recently met other demigods and returned with them to Camp Half-Blood.

-Moxy-

"Are you seriously going to sit there for the entire game?" Morgan snapped, glancing over at Moxy.

Moxy, Morgan, and Kyu were standing next to Zeus's fist, defending the flag. Well, Moxy was sitting. Morgan and Kyu had been working on a strategy of some sort to funnel all the attackers into one area, and then knock them all out, and Moxy was there because she was too lazy to fight in capture the flag.

"Yea, what about it," Moxy said lazily, laying back on the dewy grass.

Kyu gave a nervous smile, and turned back to a sketch of the forest.

A faint ring of metal made its way to Moxy's ears. She was pretty sure none of the other defenders had heard it. But Moxy didn't want to do anything about it.

"Hey, maybe you should go–" Moxy began, but just then, an arrow whistled over her head, and all chaos broke loose

I'm super excited for this! I had a really great time making this character.

Name: Ion Caliri

Age: 16

Gender/Pronouns: Nonbinary, they/them

Godly parent: Apollo

Personality: Friendly and open, always willing to talk, will listen to you for hours and be your personal therapist. Very protective and loyal. Their love language is very verbal, so they tell their friends “I love you” constantly. They do have a wicked sense of humor, and will use sarcasm ruthlessly (but let you know they were being sarcastic directly after to make sure they didn’t upset you).

Appearance: Toffee brown hair, pixie with an undercut, usually a little ruffled. Light hazel eyes with a ring of green around the outside. Average height, fair skin. They usually wear jeans and a CHB t-shirt, their beaded necklace and some worn friendship bracelets, and a dagger at their hip. When it’s colder, they like sweaters, and for formal occasions they’ll either wear a button-down or a dress.

Skills/Abilities: They’re a talented healer, and their singing heals minor wounds. They’re good with a bow, and also carry a dagger.

Years they’ve been attending Camp: Three, and they stay year-round.

Backstory: They grew up in New Jersey with their mother, stepmother, older stepsister, and cat. Their mothers have always been super supportive of their identity, and although it took their stepsister Alice a while, she eventually came around. When they were 13, Ion’s mother told them about their godly heritage after a harpy attacked them on their way home from school. They went to camp that summer, and decided to stay year-round.

Other: Open to shipping with anyone!

Kyu~~

"Hey, maybe you should go--" An arrow cut off Moxy and landed with a thunk in the ground. Kyu quickly moved backwards, closing her sketchbook. Morgan had already grabbed her dagger, and stood in a fighting position. Moxy had also grabbed her weapon though she didn't seem nearly as battle-ready. Kyu had a sword, which was light enough for her to swing but she didn't really know how to use it.

There were five attackers, all Hunters of Artemis. Kyu had been informed earlier that whenever the Hunters stopped by, the campers and them always played Capture the Flag against each other. And apparently, the Hunters had won for the past sixty or so times.

One of the Hunters ran towards Kyu and slashed at her with a dagger. Kyu dodged at the last second, fear and panic swelling up inside her. She hardly realized she'd dropped her sword, though she quickly learned this when she attempted to swing it at the Hunter.

Kyu managed to get away from the Hunter, who was now chasing her. Kyu's sword was too far away to be of use, and she was running low on options. Panicking, Kyu did the only thing she could.

Curled up on the ground, a Hunter and her daggers looming above her, Kyu began to sing. She invented the lyrics on the spot--they were the story of an old dog, taking his last breaths. It was the saddest thing Kyu could think of at the moment.

The affect began gradually, but eventually the Hunter had dropped her weapons and sat on her knees, sobbing. Kyu stood up, still singing. She felt dizzy and had to use the trees for balance.

As Kyu got closer to Zeus's fist, she waved her arms in order to catch Morgan and Moxy's attention. When they'd noticed her, she motioned for them to plug their ears. They did so, and then Kyu began to sing louder.

One by one, the four remaining Hunters dropped all their weapons and began crying. Morgan saw the state they were in, and all she had to do was shout at them and they ran away.

Once they were all gone, Kyu stopped singing. She gave a nervous smile to Moxy and Morgan.

"That was so cool!" Moxy said. "We should totally start a band together. You signing, me on keyboard--it'd be epic."

"Well, that definitely means you're a child of at least one of the Muses," Morgan said. She said something else, but noise seemed to be fading.

"I don't feel so great," Kyu said , her eyes widening as another wave of dizziness struck her. She stumbled, and then suddenly, collapsed, passing out as she fell.

~~~
Basically, the extents of Kyu's powers are as follows--
If she's singing, it only works if the lyrics are in a language the listeners understand. This doesn't apply when she's playing an instrument.
Her limit before passing out is two people.
The only emotion she can make people feel is sadness, as she is the daughter of the Muse of Tragedy.
Morgan-
One second Kyu is smiling, and the next she's on the ground, passed out. I run towards her. I crouch down next to her and check her pulse. It's still there, and it's strong. She doesn't seem very hurt, just asleep.
"Moxy, go get some water!!" I shout. Moxy nods and she runs towars the river. I shake Kyu to try and get her to wake up but it doesn't work. Moxy finally comes back with some water in her hands. She splashea it onto Kyu's face. A moment later, Kyu blinks and sits up, coughing. I hand her my sweatshirt and she dries her face off with it.
"Are you okay?" I ask. She nods. I breathe out, relieved.
"Yeah. I feel ok now," She replies. Moxy and I help her stand up.  She seems a little dizzy still at first, but after a moment she is able to stand up by herself.
Suddenly, we hear more voices. I think it might be more attackers so I grab my weapon. But as they get closer I see they're wearing orange shirts. And they have the Hunters' flag.
Lore~
"Lietenant, four of our hunters are down!" one of my hunters, Charla shouts. She has a hunter clinging onto each of her shoulders. They're sobbing hysterically.
"Icarus!" I curse. "Are they injured? Someone get them some nectar!"
"No, they're fine. They're just really...sad?"
One of my youngest hunters collapses in front of me. "There was this girl, and she was singing a really *SNIFF* sad song."
"That's great, honey, but we really don't have time for sing-a-longs," I stuff a flask of nectar in her face.
"It was about a dog that DIED. He just wanted to be in the wilderness but—"
"Stop. I don't want to hear it." The truth is, dying animals are my weakness. Especially dogs. I love dogs. I sobbed for three days after watching Marley & Me. I slap myself on the wrist. Focus Lore!
"Listen up ladies!" I smack the hilt of my dagger against a shield to get their attention. "This is not a game. This is a HUNT. And we are hunters, not summer campers like all of those demigodlings running around. I—sorry—WE have won capture the flag for the past SIXTY EIGHT times. We have a reputation to uphold."
I look around. Some of the new hunters look a little scared but the others are pretty used to my leadership style. "A few months ago, this absolute nuisance, Shane Labelle, was flirting with one of my hunters AND had the audacity to threaten our capture the flag reign. We have two goals: destroy their flag and destroy Labelle. LET'S GO!"
Charla steps forward. "My team can guard the flag. You can charge the campers. The flag it at Zeus's fist, super unprotected. I think they're funneling all of their people towards an attack soon."
"Good work. I'll take about five hunters and we'll take care of it. Maybe set up some more traps around the perimeter. You can never have too many."
She nods, and her team gets too work. I whistle and gesture towards my stealthiest girls. They follow me and we head towards the flag.
Kyu~~
Kyu, Morgan, and Moxy ran towards the campers with the flag to greet them. Kyu was elated--her first game of Capture the Flag and they'd won!
But all her happiness vanished a moment later, along with the flag and the campers. Morgan and Moxy looked just as confused and heartbroken as Kyu felt.
Morgan's eyes suddenly lit up as she realized something. "The Hunters! They must have created an illusion somehow--and they must be going for the flag!"
~~~

Shane Labelle~~

Shane hadn't seen much action, which was actually very surprising. He had assumed the Hunters would be tracking him down--for some reason, they just really seemed to despise him. He was fairly certain he knew why, but it was fun to pretend he was absolutely oblivious to their hatred.

The members of Athena's cabin had also assumed the Hunters would want to track him down. It was the entire purpose of why he was all the way out here--as a distraction. So far, however, it hadn't been working. They hadn't even paired anyone up with him. Something about not wanting to pointlessly put even more campers in harm's way.

There was an almost nonexistant rustling in the bushes, so quiet that Shane had a hard time believing it was ever there. But his instincts told him otherwise, and when dealing with Hunters, Shane knew that instincts were your best chance.

He drew one of his daggers and twirled it around his wrist, itching for a fight.

Two Hunters lept from the bushes, weapons drawn. Shane had only just enough time to dodge a swift slash from a dagger.

When he'd gotten back on his feet, he looked to see his attackers. One of them he didn't know, but he recognized the other quite well--Lore Lee.

"You're going to pay, Labelle," She snarled.

"With what? My good looks?" Shane responded, a smile forming on his lips.

~~~
If Lore and Shane aren't forced to work together at some point, I'm going to be extremely disappointed. XD
