I'm making this charrie up as I type so let's see where this takes us...

Name: Peony Bay (Female, she/her)

Age: 15 (I hate to make another 15 yo girl, but...)

Personality: Kind of reserved, doesn't like talking about herself. She loves nature and is generally very friendly but only to people that she trusts. She decides whether to trust someone within the first few minutes of meeting them and she has the uncanny ability to tell when other people are lying (not a power, just something she can do). She also is an amazing pickpocket.

Appearence: A bit short, long black hair in a half ponytail, hazel eyes, olive toned skin.

Powers: She has the power to suppress the strength of others. For other magic folk, this means temporarily restricting their powers, for regular people, it just makes them weak and unable to move. The more powerful the magic in someone, the harder it is to suppress the power.

Other: She doesn't talk about her past. Like, at all. This is because her family died when she was a kid and she grew up in an orphanage and had to steal a lot (a bit cliche, but whatever). A few years ago, she stole from a weathly family and got away with a lot of money, and she's been on the run every since. Also, open shipping with either girls or boys.

Excited!

Name: Bex Micry

Age: 16

Personality: Tries very hard to be tough, only succeeds half the time. Bex can be kinda scary at times because of how ambitious and determined they are. They would do anything to prove themself, which makes them very easy to hurt. They fall in love quite easily and can be read like an oen book.

Appearance: Short black hair on the sides and longer on top. Their eyes are hazel, but more on the brown side. The bridge of their nose is straight, but if you look closely you'll notice it's a tiny bit crooked from an old fist fight. For whatever reason, they choose not to change it. Tall, slender and muscled body. They usually wear black combat boots and black cargo pants with a solid green shirt. They wear a big black hoodie when it's cold out.

Powers: They can shape-shift, but only to a human form so far. It will take practice and hard work to do animals or inanimate objects.

Other: Gender fluid! Uses they/she/he pronouns. Open for shipping with any gender!

"You want to run away for an adventure?"

Mira opened one eye to look at Bea, who was looking at her excitedly.

"Yep!" Bea exclaimed.

Opening both eyes and uncrossing her legs, Mira smacked Bea's arm. "Are you crazy?"

"Nope!"

Mira sighed. "I mean, if you want to, sure I guess then."

"Okay! Can we bring Sonia?!" Bea asked.

Sonia? The Staibadour kid?

Mira voiced her thoughts out loud.

"Yep! She's really funny! It's crazy! And she's also super cool," Bea added.

Mira shrugged. She didn't have anything against Sonia. "Sure then."

A few moments later, Bea had dragged Sonia from the bus line, and now all three of them were bunking class and eating cookies in a cafe. Bea was trying to convince Sonia to go on an adventure with them, and Peony seemed to slowly be agreeing.

"It'll only be for a week! We can travel all over the continent on the subways!"

It would be pretty easy to travel the continent, with all the ultra-fast subways, that were free for kids, not to mention.

"Alright then, you have me convinced," Sonia laughed, "When are we going?"

Bea glanced inside her backpack. "How much money do you have on you?"

Sonia pulled out her tablet and counted the bills and loose change in the back pocket. "Like, maybe fifty."

"Great! Let's go now!" Bea exclaimed.

"Wait what–" Mira began, but the three of them were already out the door and headed for the subway.

The three of them stood in front of a subway as the blue-white train slowed to a stop. Mira was just about to step onto the subway, when someone slammed into her shoulder.

"Oops, sorry," the person mumbled, standing up hurriedly.

It was a girl, maybe fifteen. "It's okay," Mira said, and turned around.

She jerked her head back around again when she realized what the person was holding. "My wallet!" Mira exclaimed.

The girl, wide-eyed, spun around and dashed onto the crowded subway train, disappearing into the crowd. Without a second thought, Mira jumped into the subway, Bea and Sonia following behind.

Ducking and weaving through the subway, Mira latched onto the hand of the pickpocket, and dragged them to a bench.

"Give me back my wallet."

"Fine," they sighed, and tossed the wallet to Mira.

Mira blinked. She hadn't expected it would be that easy.

Taking a closer look at the person, a flash of recognition passed through Mira's mind.

"Peony? From school?" Mira asked.

Peony looked up at Mira. "That's me," she said, grinning.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well ... what about you?" Peony countered.

"We're going on a cross-continental adventure. Now, you?"

Peony shrugged. "Just trying to pick up some extra cash."

Bea jumped in front of Peony, startling both Mira and Peony. "Hey, Peony! Want to join us on our cross-continental adventure?! Sonia's coming too!"

Peony shrugged again. "Can't hurt, right? I'm in."

"In what?"

Mira, Peony, Bea, and Sonia looked to the side to see Bex, an upperclassman, staring at them with a scarily icy cold glare.

"N-Nothing," Sonia said hurriedly, giving a sort of jerky half-bow.

"Are you skipping class?" Bex asked suspiciously.

"Yep!" Bea exclaimed, "We're going on a cross-continental adventure."

Mira cringed inwardly as Bex fixed them with another one of his glares. Surprisingly, Bex suddenly shifted their eyes away, and spoke.

"I won't drag you back to class on one condition," Bex said slowly.

"And what's that?" Mira asked.

"You let me come with you," they said, smirking.

"Deal!" Bea said.

And so, the five of them were off on a cross-continental adventure. Their first stop? The Metropolitan Museum.

---

The Metropolitan Museum is located in New Manhattan. It's a large museum, but the thing is, it's located in a skyscraper, similar to all the ones around it, so it's incredibly difficult to find. Your character's objectives are to RP their way through the big city, and make it to the Metropolitan Museum's front doors.

Have fun!

Bea~

This was so exciting! An adventure, all I had ever wanted and now it was happening!

"Where are we even going?" Bex asked.

"This train is on it's way to New York," Mira said.

"Cool! I've always wanted to go to the Metropolitan Museum there," Peony suggested.

"Perfect! We'll go there!" I exclaimed.

"Ahem, can you kids keep it down, I'm tryna get some shut-eye," an older man said gruffly.

"Sorry about that sir," Mira apologized, glaring at me. "We'll be quiet. C'mon guys, let's find a seat."

That proved to be trickier than expected and in the end we all just stayed standing up. It was quite packed in and kind of warm with all the body heat. The subway doors slammed close and the subway began to move. Slowly at first, but not for long as the it picked up speed and reached it's cruising speed of 350 miles per hour.

I looked away from the windows, it was becoming dizzying to look out them as things sped past at such a fast rate.

Peony:

The train was speeding along the tracks as we stood there somewhat unconfortably for what felt like an hour, though it was prbably only twenty minutes or so. I didn't complain though; I was used to taking public transportation everywhere I needed to go as it was free for kids.

Suddenly, the train jerked forwards and the screech of metal on metal sliced through the air. Sonia, a girl who I vaugley knew from school, let go of her pole to cover her ears but was knocked off balance and fell into Bea. A chorus of distressed voices came from the people on board and the conductor's voice crackled over the intercom, talking about something related to "technicial difficulties".

A woman near me stumbled and knocked her purse over onto the floor. Before she could recover, I swooped down and picked up the purse for her, handing it back. She nodded greatfully and I hoped it took her a while to figure out her wallet was missing from it.

"Something tells me we're not making it to New York easily," Bex muttered.

As if right on cue, the lights flickered off, plunging us all into darkness.

P.S. I used to live in NYC so I'm excited for when we *eventually* get there

As soon as I finished my sentence, the lights shut out. We stumbled in the dark for what felt like hours but was probably only a few moments.
"How are we getting there now?" Mira whimpered.
"I knew this was a terrible idea!" I scolded them, trying my best to sound confident yet angry. In truth, I was almost grateful for the dark at that moment because it hid my shifting feet and my wringing hands.
"Ouch! Who stepped on me?" Peony cried out.
"Sorry, I think that was me," Sonia responded. You could hear her cringing in her tone.
I racked my brain, trying to figure out how to start the train.
Now annoyed, Mira questioned, "Is someone going to answer me?"
"I know what to do!" A before-silent Bea exclaimed.
"Oh, do you know?" I sarcastically remarked. I still wasn't used to how peppy she was, and I still hadn't decided whether I liked that about her or not.
"Yes, I do! Let's get outta here! We can jump out of the window and go to the museum on foot instead!" I could feel the floor shake as she jumped up and down.
"How about we just walk out of the train instead?" Peony added.
"Can't we just wait for the train to start again? I just got these heels and I don't want to mess them up," Sonia complained.
"We're stranded on a bus in a busy city and you're worried about your shoes?" I shot back.
"You have no right to talk, Bex. You wear the same thing every day. I'd be surprised if you even washed your clothes!" She scolded me.
"Hey! I- that is so not true! I wash my clothes as much as the average person," I grumbled.
Suddenly, the floor beneath us shook and trembled. I yelped and jumped onto a sticky seat.
"Hey, babies! Are we getting out or what?" Mira said as she shoved Bea toward the exit, which we knew from the squeal and giggle coming from her way.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's go, this way," Sonia grabbed Bea's hand and started leading us to the exit. "Everyone grab a hand!".
I grabbed Mira's hand and followed. We all came to a stumbling stop when we heard Peony bump into another passenger.
"Oh, my goodness! I'm so sorry! Here, let me pick these up for you! Have a wonderful day!" She speed-walked past us before her poor victim could realize that their purse was significantly lighter. I made a mental note to scold Peony later.
We were almost out when we realized: no power, no automatic doors. Unfortunately, because power outages are rare here, there was no other way to get out.
"Drat!" Bea exclaimed.
"Don't worry! I try to be very prepared for things like this!" Mira assured us. I could hear her rifle through her school bag, looking for something.
"Well, what is it? Hurry!" Sonia urged her.
"Okay, all I have is an old pocket knife and a small hammer. Can we break the glass with that?" Asked Mira. I thought about it, unsure.
"It's worth a shot if it's all we have. Try and break the glass window!" I told her. "There are handles on the outside of the doors we can turn through the window!"
It was quiet for a moment, and then we heard the shatter of glass. Quickly, I stuck my arm blindly through the new hole and patted around for the handle. When I made contact, I twisted it and pushed the door open.
"Everybody out!" I pushed the crew out the doors and we ran, hoping to avoid the other desperate passengers.
"LIGHT!" Bea yelled joyfully as she ran down the underground.
"Okay, so what do we do now?" Peony asked when we all came to a stop.
"I guess we need to find a map first, to know where we are," Mira responded.

Bea~

"Ok, we need a map," Mira instructed.

"All right, I'll go ask around," I said, and started walking around in search of one.

"Excuse me, ma'am?" I politely asked a security guard. "Do you know where some maps are?"

Without saying a word, she pointed at a sign near a trash can that read 'Map of Downtown Cherry Hill' and below that was a map! I quickly thanked the guard.

We're in New Jersey! I thought excitedly. I ran to the others.

"I found a map, follow me!"

After a while of studying the map, Bex broke the silence.

"It seems like our best bet of getting to New Manhattan is walking a couple of miles downtown to that electric scooter rental-" here they pointed to a dot on the map "-and then scooter down to this subway station and go from there, assuming this isn't a city-wide power outage."

"If it is, we'll have to figure out what to do from there,"  Mira added.

Sonia whipped out her phone and snapped a picture of the map. "Just in case." she said.

"More adventure!" I squealed.

"Bea, can you please keep the energy down? We are in a serious situation," Bex scolded.

"Geez, sorry," I mumbled, slightly hurt. "More adventure!" I whispered. "Is that better?"

Bex rolled their eyes and we started strolling down the sidewalk.
