SOLO WRITE!!!!!!!
The world is Earth. The city, New York. You are a normal kid. Or at least, what passes for normal in New York. You go to school, come home, go to sleep, and do it all over again tomorrow. But no matter what you think, what you tell yourself, you long for adventure, deep down. But adventure evades you. You can’t find it, and it won’t come to you. Until, of course, it does. And once it takes you into its grasp, it won’t let you go for anything.

Yup. It’s a solo write (if the thread name didn’t make that clear). And also yup, it’s my first one *crosses fingers*. The maximum number of people is six. I know that’s not much, but any more, and I won’t be able to keep track of them all. Enter a new OC only, please, using the character form below. If you have any questions, ask away! Name: Anastasia Vasquez (Better known as Taiza)
Age (Must be between 12 and 15): 13 1/2
Gender: female, she/her
Skills and abilities (No powers, please. You have to be fully human): very athletic - fast, great at climbing, running, and pretty much all sports. She’s relatively smart, too. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Appearance: Wavy brown hair all the way down to her waist, which she puts up in a braid or high ponytail (she almost never shows anyone her hair when it’s down). Large brown eyes, pointed nose, and very tan skin. She’s half caucasian and half Guatemalan.
Favorite color: Violet
Personality: She’s mostly extroverted - she enjoys making conversation, being in crowds, and making friends. However, she has 4 younger brothers, so she values her alone time. Both her parents work full-time jobs so she is mostly in charge of her brothers, making her a leader who feels the need to be in control. She is kind but very adamant about what she wants and doesn’t give up. Protective and loyal. She’s captain of her school track team and plays soccer outside of school, as well as rock climbing and basketball as hobbies.
Friends and Allies: Her teammates, her parents, and sometimes her brothers. Her greatest confidant is her friend Brooke from the track team.
Hobbies: Running, other sports like soccer, basketball, and rock climbing, playing board games with her brothers.
Likes: Sports, some occasional peace and quiet (which she rarely gets), her mother’s food, her family, talking to people, getting good grades, braiding her hair, and art, but nobody knows about her art hobby.
Dislikes: People using her full name, having her brothers in her room, cockroaches and other bugs, doing poorly in class, losing (although she understands that you can’t win all the time).
Fears: Feeling helpless, messing up, failing someone she loves, and fire ants, which she’s allergic to.
What would you do if you were alone at home, and all the power went out only in your apartment?: Taza would sigh, find some flashlights, and walk around, looking for something to do. If she felt like it, she might go to her neighbors’ and ask if their power was out, too.

Great character! I have two questions, though:
1. How do you pronounce her nickname, Taiza? Is it TY-za, TY-zha, TAE-za, TAE-zha, or something else?
2. Since she's half Guatemalan and speaks fluent Spanish, can I assume her family is from Guatemala, maybe in the last generation of so? Like, does her family speak spanish and english together, bringing her and her brothers bilingually? Is the food they cook of Guatemalan orgin? Do they consider themselves to be from both Guatemala and America? I know that's techinally 4 questions, not one, but they're all related, so it doesn't count ;).

So, background on her family/heritage:
Her mother moved from Guatemala to New York and, 2 years later, got married. She was adamant that her children know Spanish so that they could talk to their Guatemalan family, whom they visit once a year at Christmastime, and who visit them once every summer.
Her father is a native New Yorker, but he is still relatively fluent in Spanish because of his Puerto Rican heritage (from a few generations back) and his devotion to being able to converse with his in laws, making her whole family bilingual. They still speak mostly English at home and consider themselves part American, part Guatemalan. and yes, Her mother cooks lots of Guatemalan food.
Wow, Taiza is shaping up to be a very interesting charrie with some very interesting background.

Name: Vivian (Vivi or Via) Castella
Age (Must be between 12 and 15): 14
Gender: Female, she/her
Skills and abilities (No powers, please. You have to be fully human): She's an excellent storyteller, and her scary stories can keep you up all night in fear. She can speak Japanese and English fluently, and a little of French and Spanish. She's quite intelligent, but doesn't really like sharing her ideas with anyone besides Tal (see below).
Appearance: She has pale skin with a few freckles, she's short and thin, with long dark hair in a braid bun with a black pencio through it. She wears thick glasses with black frames, dark sweaters, dark overcoats, tan pants, and black boots. She has a dark academia aesthetic.
Favorite color: Dark colors, mostly. Her favorites are black and purple.
Personality: Introverted, antisocial, not very good at talking, doesn't ever trust anyone. Often lost in thought and will get angry if you interrupt her thinking.
Friends and Allies: she has one friend who she actually trusts: Tal Smith. She has a (secret) crush on Tal, and would be devastated if anything happened to her or if she ever betrayed her.
Hobbies: Watching people, thinking, writing short horror and mystery stories, which she folds up and hides in random places around New York.
Likes: Tal Smith, coffee, writing, horror and mysteries, dark colors, dark aesthetics, coffeeshops, her laptop (which is covered in stickers), reading, thinking.
Dislikes: Most people, talking, big spaces, fantasy books, big dogs, people who think they're better than you, extroverts, and strawberry milkshakes.
Fears: empty, open spaces/voids, big animals, loss of control, many insects
What would you do if you were alone at home, and all the power went out only in your apartment?: She'd probably write a story about it on her laptop, just alone in the darkness.

Skills and abilities (No powers, please. You have to be fully human):
Appearance: Gray-green eyes and expressive eyebrows. Dark-ish brown hair which tends to cover an eye and is usually not brushed neatly though it somehow manages not to look scruffy. On the shorter side and very thin. Wears lightly (but not brightly) colored t-shirts and worn jeans.
Favorite color: Gray and faded blue.
Personality: Extroverted. He enjoys talking to people but he dislikes and avoids sharing things about himself and prefers listening to others talk more than he likes talking. Will share his opinion in clear, certain terms and is good at not offending people while doing so. Not a leader and not a follower, though not really a loner either. He likes to come to his own conclusions and decisions, from there he acts based on these. If he thinks a person has a good idea he will follow them, but the moment that person strays from that idea or does something he thinks is wrong he leaves them (unless he likes their new idea). Won't stand being pushed around. Kind and very good at listening.
Friends and Allies: Pretty much everyone he comes in contact with. He makes friends easily, though he doesn't have or make close friends easily.
Hobbies: Biking and journaling. He loves biking around New York and knows most of it by heart. He journals about his rides in great detail.
Likes: Biking and thinking and processing facts to come to his own conclusions.
Dislikes: Bossy people, and meanness.
Fears: Not being able to make his own decisions (like being in a situation where he was being forced to do someone else's wishes). Being totally alone. Hurting someone, animal or human.
What would you do if you were alone at home, and all the power went out only in your apartment?: He would most likely sit for a few minutes and consider everything he knew related to this power outage. Once he did this and considered it safe to go out he would grab his journal, a pen, a flashlight, his helmet and go out biking until the sun went down or the power came on.

Skills and abilities (No powers, please. You have to be fully human): Street-smart. Athletic and tough, calls herself nocturnal, and is good with the not so good night crowd.
Appearance: Aquamarine hair. Very short. Wears a black leather jacket overtop of a dark purple shirt. Wears ripped jeans and moon shaped earrings.
Favorite color: Aquamarine or Black
Personality: Street Smart. Sarcastic.
Friends and Allies: Whoever really. She isn’t really great friends with any One person, just kinda doesn’t care.
Hobbies: Volleyball, window shopping
Likes: Dark, dirty streets.
Dislikes: Spiders and rats.
Fears: People. Deeps down she’s scared someone will try to take her in.
What would you do if you were alone at home, and all the power went out only in your apartment?: Jump, but then not care. If it got too bad she’d light a candle.

Skills and abilities (No powers, please. You have to be fully human): She is strong and fast and athletic, though she doesn't really like playing sports or doing anything remotely social. She also likes to read nonfiction, informative books and is quite intelligent. She fluently speaks both English and Filipino.
Appearance: She is tall and of average build, with dark, glossy, wavy hair, shaved on one side and a little longer than shoulder length on the other. Her eyes are amber-yellow, and a spray of freckles covers her nose. Her skin is quite dark, as she is a native-born Filipino.
Favorite color: Pale pink
Personality: She is introverted and doesn't like socializing at all. She is intelligent and kind, though, and very loyal and family-oriented. If you manage to become her friend, you are in luck. She almost never forgets grudges, and isn't quick to forgive.
Friends and Allies: Nearly no one, but if she gets attached to someone, she is a very, very good friend
Hobbies: Reading, climbing trees, digging holes, drawing
Likes: Tea, sour candy, nature, animals, paper, old-fashioned quills and inkwells
