Author Solo Write (Part Two)

It is late again. It's almost always late at night when these things happen, the scary, terrible, wonderful things that change your life forever. You are lying in your bed, trying over and over again to fall asleep. The curtains are open, and moonlight is streaming in, silvery and liquid. You have never been able to fall asleep with the curtains shut, not since you were a tiny baby. Even now, it is hard to sleep without the moon. On cloudy nights and new moons, you toss and turn for hours. Now, though, something else is wrong. A feeling of foreboding crawls into you mind, just as a cloud drifts over the silvery orb in the sky, and you shiver, reaching for the book on your nightstand. Looking at the grey, clothbound cover of your collector's edition, you have to smile a little.

There are only ten copies of this edition, bound in silvery silk and autographed by Allen Underwood himself. When you got the email this morning from Sunny Meadows Publishing Company, you could hardly believe it. You, out of all the readers of their products, were chosen to recieve this book. True, you already own multiple copies, but this one, with it's moon colored cover, is special. And now, for the first time, you open it.

The book is perfect, of course, with the loveliest endpapers you have ever seen. With a feeling of anticipation, you flip to the first page, expecting to see the familiar words. "At 11:45 on June 28th, there was already a small crowd gathered around the main office of Sunny Meadows Publishing Company."

Instead, you find a letter.

Dear Reader,

Many years ago, when I was a younger man, still a teenager, really, I wrote a collection of poetry. On the night that I finished it, a night much like this one, I recieved a letter from a woman named Kytleen Marsh, offering to publish it. As you might imagine, I could not resist this mysterious offter, and, on June 28th, I did as was asked of me.

But you know all of this. You have read my book. What I have to tell you is this: It is true. Every bit of it. Over the course of one day, I met and lost eight people, the people who would become my first true friends. Saylor Swallow, Iduna Vance, Myra Ellis, Recon Elterbert, Katherine Ellis, Altoos Peregrine, Clay Dier, and Lola Sage. They were lost to me.

I am asking you to help me find them.

On the 25th of February, please report to the front gates of Sunny Meadows Publishing Company. You know where it is.

And bring the book.

Yours gratefully,

Allen Underwood

You brush your fingers over the smooth, pearly-white page.

It could be dangerous. It could be a trap.

But it will be worth it.

The title of the thread is Author Solo Write, and I was going under the pseudonym Kytleen Marsh.

Wow, we're already halfway full after only one afternoon! This is exciting, thank you everyone!

Cynthia and Peregrine, welcome back! I'm thrilled to have you joining me again.

Just to let everyone know, I will not be able to start before the deadline this time around, because I have a large project for school that I am procrastinating on majorly and is due by then, so I don't have enough free time to write a part. At the speed spots are filling up, we will have everyone ready long before then, so please help me keep it topped until I begin. Thank you so much for joining!

Yes! The sequel! This is going to be SO much fun :DD

My new character is very different from Myra lol (I used to be HeroesOfOlympus)

Name: Wednesday McCarter

Age: She's very short and looks probably 10 or 11 years old, but her real age is 12.

Gender/pronouns: She uses she/her and is most likely genderfae.

Appearance: Wednesday has chin-length, wavy, hot-pink hair (dyed, of course) and a very freckled complexion. Her skin is tan and her eyes bright, startling blue. She, as mentioned earlier, is very short, but her determined grin shows you that she's not just a silly child. She wears a striped t-shirt in rainbow colors that was a size too small and is slightly cropped, with black leggings that are ripped around her knees, checkered black and white high-tops with flowers in bright thread sewn onto them (done by Wednesday herself), and an acid-washed jean jacket. The jacket is splattered with bright blue, purple, and green paint, and the insides are covered in dozens of tiny pockets containing rather useless but sometimes helpful things. She never closes the jacket because she gets WAY too hot, but she never takes it off either.

Personality: Bright, determined, unusually brave, ridiculously optimistic, all 'Let's do this!' and no 'I have a plan!', charges headfirst into things, talks without thinking, loves painting and spraypainting, hobbies include doing graffiti art in legal areas (she's gotten in trouble for spray painting subway trains enough times to learn) and going on pointless adventures. She also has dyslexia and taught herself to read using Allen's books. She's still not very good, though.

Background/history: She won't tell anybody anything about herself, but she grew up in an orphanage and learned to be independent. She doesnt need anyone else's help as a result, and she's learned to not fall for people- its gotten her into some scrapes before.

Luggage: A small duffle bag containing: three mechanical pencils, a pair of socks, various colors of spray paint in dented metal bottles, a small sketchbook, a bag containing the 'necessary' things (toothbrush, toiletries, a small slingshot), and some random paperclips in bright colors.

What color/pattern are the endpapers of your book? Please make sure that it is different for each character: Light, light pink with deeper hues of red like bloodstains, a single silver-outlined flower with its petals outstretched in the center.

Shipping: Perhaps. Girls only.
Other: Wednesday doesn't just like the books, she owes a lot to Allen. He/his books taught her to read, something the orphanage never thought to do. She overcame her dyslexia thanks to Allen, and so she is in debt and will do anything to repay him.

Oh my word I love Wednesday so much. She has just become one of my favorite characters ever.
