Hey, guys! I recently got into Keeper of the Lost Cities, and I've noticed that some of you like it too, so I thought I'd make an RP. I'll put the character sheet, then the rules, and a basic description of the series for anyone who doesn't know. I'm also going to create the first comment on this thread as a "General Comment", so that anyone who joins late can see the plot so far. Now, let's get started!

RULES

-Your character may bear similarities to a character in the book, but you can't RP as a character in the book.

-Your character can have more than one ability.

-You can have as many characters as you want, though try to keep it to 3.

-Try not to lead the plot like it is in the series!

-Characters from the books can exist, but just as side characters. Don't involve any book characters in major things.

 

Series Description (with as few spoilers as possible):

Keeper of the Lost Cities is a currently 8.5 book series (more coming soon).The series is about a girl named Sophie Foster who finds out she's an elf, though they're not what we usually picture them to be. They look like humans, only they dress differently. (Usually tunics and pants with capes and cloaks, though girls wear dresses when going about if they're in nobility) and they live in what are called the "Lost Cities", called this because they are lost to humans. For example, Atlantis is a Lost City. Anyway, Sophie we discover is the creation of a group called the Black Swan, whose total motives and reasoning are still unknown. Right now, the Council, a group of elvin leaders who are basically the government, want to find them because they are going against elvin law. (Like going into the "Forbbiden Cities" which is the human world.) Though no one knows exactly who is in the Black Swan, or basically anything about them. Sophie has multiple special and enhanced abilities (like she's a telepath with an inpentrable mind) because the Black Swan created her and tweaked her genes. She has information that she can't access stored away in her mind, and is only given clues here and there by the Black Swan to help both humans and elves.

I leap into Foxfire, thinking about Lyll. I walk to the Level Three corridor, and immediately see Kalen - that quiet kid. I don't know him that well. But this time something's different. I squint at him, trying to see what it is, and gasp. His eyes - they're green. What? Is it just some weird elixir? A trick of the light? I don't think so. I know elixirs, and that's a weird color.

I have an awesome idea for a new ability: Terrakinetic. Like, earth control and stuff. Can I use that?

Other: She has a pet black wolf named Tyr. Went to exilium because she either split a house in half (Completely on purpose), or accidentaly using the energy-using-explosion thing on a Councillors crown

I strode quickly off to class after announcements. I felt deeply disturbed. What was going on with Kalen? And Jasper? As the day wore on, the memory of Kalen's odd eyes faded. By lunch time, I had almost completely forgotten about it. I was too busy worrying about how hard it was to be both a pisionipath and an empath. That gave me one extra class, which wasn't helpful since I always used my ablitities best when alone. I just felt like I could consentrate better. 
I forgot about Kalen, until I realized I had plopped down right next to him. I had been so distracted by my own thoughts, that I hadn't noticed where I was going. That seems to happen a lot with me... I practical choke when I realize what I've done. Kalen sat there, trying to avoid eye-contact, keeping his eyes lowered to his plate. 
For a few minutes, I sat there awkwardly. I'm was about to ask what's going on with him, when he abruptly stood up, his food half finished. As he slid out of his seat, I caught a glimpse of his eyes. They were... Blue?

I figured Kalen would've put in eyedrops by now. If no one likes this, ignore it.

When I walked into the lunch room, I was throughly shocked. Lelani - was she sitting next to Kalen? What was she thinking? Maybe - maybe she was just trying to investigate. That had to be it. And I had to too, even though I was scared. I slid into the seat beside her, and slowy cranned my neck to look at Kalen - and then got milk up my nose. PFTTTTT! "Jasper!" Lelani yelped. "You okay?" Kalen's eyes...they...they were blue! What? Am I seeing things? Kalen turned his head up from his food and winced. He did know what I'd seen. "S-sorry" I mumbled, lowering my head. "It must have gone down the wrong way." Ugh. It's pretty obvious that Kalen knows what I'd seen now. Though maybe he doesn't. I've got to play it cool - I'm the prankster here - I can't show a weak side! I reached into my school sack and pulled out my study book for Empathy. It was by Sensen. Again. I slowly turned to the bookmarked page, and began reading. Sort of. I couldn't stop thinking about Kalen. His eyes had been green. Something was up. Really up. There was no way I was going to let this stop here. I was going to figure out what I had seen this morning, no matter the consequences.

I stroll into the cafeteria and look around for somewhere to sit. I see Kalen - with Lelani and Jasper. Weird - they don't usually sit together. Well, Kalen hardly ever sits with anyone. Maybe they saw his eyes? Maybe we can figure it out. I'll be able to get a better look at his eyes, at least.

"Um... Can I sit here?" I ask awkwardly at the table.

"Oh, sure," Jasper says after a pause.

I sit in the seat across from them, and glance at Kalen. I freeze. His eyes are blue. Now I notice that Jasper and Lelani seem a little confused. Maybe it's about the same thing. How to ask...

"Remember Sophie Foster? I can't believe she came here to Foxfire. Like, she's legendary. The way she was raised with humans, and then... And those eyes? I hear they were weird." I mentally cringe. Too obvious, too cheerful... Oh, well. Seems to have done the trick.

I winced at Cree's words. A little blunt. I glanced over at Kalen to see what he was doing. He was very pale. He stared down at his plate for a moment, hand twitching slightly. Then he abruptly got up from the table and walked away without saying another word. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. I decided I would try to talk to Kalen after class. I would be frank and honest. I wanted to find out what was going on.

I watch Kalen as he leaves the lunch hall, his eys looking at absolutly anything but us. My head is burning with questions, and I start to get out of my chair before I even know my brain is comanding me. Luckily, Lelani pulled me back into my seat before I could do anything stupid.

"Jasper, we don't want to scare him." She hisses at me as I return to eating.

"Yeah...I know." I say glumly, still wishing I had followed him. Maybe he had some other secrety-green-eyed-things to go do. And maybe now was my only chance to catch him! 

I started getting up again. 

"Jasper..." Lelani said. 

"I just thought...what if he is up to something else? What if he is a...a spy or something?" I cry "What if he is making a get away now?" 

"I think you've been watching too much of that human TV again." Lelani answered calmly. But I saw her eyeing the door too. She must have been just as curious as I was. 

"And I'm sure we'll catch him later. He's a student after all - he can't just leave the campus in the middle of the day." Cree chimed in.

They were both right. The reasonably side of me knew it. The impulsive side, not as much, but I didn't need to go scare Kalen into hiding before I got any information out of him. I would try later. I would have to. Now I just had to focus on finishing this darm lunch period.

I waited until after school sessions had ended. I was in the hall, a rock among a sea of prodigies. 
I craned my neck to catch a glimpse of him. Then I saw him, swirling by in the sea like a twig. "Kalen!" I cried and shoved through the crowd to him. He had started and looked around when his name was called. His eyes bugged out when he saw me and he started shoving and running througn the students like nobody's buissness. "Kalen!" I called. "Wait!! I want to talk to you!" But he just kept running. By the time I got to the spot he had been at, he was gone.
