>>QnA<<
Q: What is NaNoWriMo? A. NaNoWriMo (Or NaNo for even shorter) is short for National Novel Writing Month. In the month of November, you challenge yourself to write a novel (or whatever other word count goal you want)!
Q: How do I do it? A. Chances are, most of the people reading this are under 18, so you can go sign up for the NaNo Young Writers Program! It is completely free, and you can set word goals and write there year-round!

This is the first year I'll be doing NaNo, and I will be writing a novel about a community of shape-shifting elves in a large wood. They will have their own language (probably based on Scottish Gaelic). Then, one day a shapeshifting child is left in the forest (usually they don't find their powers until they're an older teen or adult)... to be continued xD

I'm so excited that I'm not the only first-timer xD hmm... what to write about... try playing your favorite song, or re-reading your favorite book. See if any inspiration strikes!

YES! A NaNo Prep thread!

I am going to ~attempt~ to do NaNoRiMo this November for the first time!

November is usually a pretty busy month for me, so I'll see how I do. I will be starting fresh on a book I've been trying to write for the past few years, but never got very far.

I wil also be trying to do the full 50,000 word count, at least, that's the goal, it'll probably change.

Anyway, does anyone have any tips for a newbie?

I WANT to do NaNo, but I 1) don't have time cause school, 2) don't have any ideas, and 3) have a hard time sticking to one thing. But who knows, anything might happen :) Good luck with your projects!!

I was just about to ask y'all what NaNo is because I've heard it mentioned, and then I came across this! It sounds really cool!!

I have a question! There is a story i'm currently writing- can I work on that for NaNo? Or should it be a completly new story? Also, I told my English teacher I might be doing it and she said she's heard of it!

you can do either! the original goal of NaNo was to churn out an entire first draft within the month, but you absolutely don't have to use it that way- NaNo is just a time to set a goal and write consistently, since a lot of us, me included, tend to only write when we feel like we have the time to or remember that "oh! That was a cool idea, maybe i should keep doing it!"

whether that means working on a WIP or starting a completely new idea is up to you.

I'm probably going to do NaNo this year. It's my first time. I'm not completely sure because I just got moved up to a harder orchestra and everyone else who's there has four weeks on me and such, so I want to work on my instruments a lot. But I'm really excited for NaNo:D I'm going to do the full 50,000 words if I do it. Which I probably will; I'm making a list of ways I will continue to improve my top priority, music, while writing. I know what book I'm going to write. I wish everyone luck!

I've also recruited 3 of my friends to do it with me and I'm SO EXCITED YUP *hands out motivational cookies and positivitea*

I think I'm going to do NaNo for the first time this year. Only problem is I have a bunch of stories I'm working on so I'll have to decide which one I want to do.

Are fanfictions allowed?
