So I had

Chatterbox: Inkwell

So I had

So I had an idea.

A series of mostly unconnected stories all set in the same town. I was thinking that I'd like to collect stories written by other people too.

Once I've decided the worldbuilding stuff, I'll post that along with some writing prompts you can choose from. If you'd like to do one, comment! I'll post requirements in the comments soon.

Sonder - the awareness that everyone has their own story, separate from yours

Achenia - the maddening sense that the world is too complex to even begin to understand

Ecsis - the haunting sense of mystery infused into random details

Yráth - a hunger for mystery in a time of easy answers

Tiris - the bittersweet knowledge that all things must end

Trueholding - the act of trying to keep an amazing discovery to yourself, fighting the urge to tell everyone because you're afraid it will end up diluted because it isn't a secret anymore

Requirements for story submissions:
-800-3000 words
-keep to the theme: a town that seems dark on the outside, but is actually really fun and probably nicer than most real-life towns
-use your own characters and plot, but use Karanoia Heights as the setting
-please do not use the same prompts again
-cameos of other people's characters are allowed and welcomed, but they should not be a main point of the story
-none of the stories are linear; each should be standalone
-warning: your story will be part of a collection, and will be seen by other people
-Format:
Title
By [name you are fine with other people seeing]
story

The reason for the word limit is because I want a collection of stories, not a book, and because I want a proper short story, not just two paragraphs. If your story is a little over or under, I'll still include it as long as your writing is good! :)

Oh, like Averno or Nightvale! Cool! I'm signing up, but it might take a while for my story to get written. I actually already have a character I can use...

Yes! Like Nightvale!

And it's fine if it takes a while. Quality over quantity and all that.

I'm glad someone else thought this was a good idea :)

I may do this, but I'm not so shure about the limit of words, so, I may not.

Try writing and see how many words you get. If it's close enough, like 700 or 4000, I'll still include the story if it's well written.

May I claim the prompt about street cats?

Approved!

To anyone else: please do not use this prompt, but you may still include cat(s) in your story.

This is an awesome idea!  Are we allowed to write continous stories too, or just short ones?  Either way I'm definitely going to write something once I get a good idea.
