As Voltage weaved through the trees, searching for the tiny creamy colored mushrooms she had seen from afar, then jolted to a stop. Someone was following her.

She turned around but missed Ivy, who had camouflaged into the forest. I really thought someone was there. Or am I just jumpy because I met two cats? And I’m pretty sure there’s one more somewhere around here who’s never been in a forest before. But just in case she slipped softly behind a tree and melted into the cool shadows instantly.

Voltage sighed, relieved to finally be away from the commotion, and then glanced around. Good. Nobody had seen her, except maybe Ivy, who was still in the area. The Forest Winged Cat had probably decided to bombard her with questions, though she didn’t understand why she was looking around with a confused expression on her face. Had she lost something?

She began to think harder. If Ivy was already making her worried, what about the other Forest Winged Cats, undoubtedly camouflaged in the forest? What would they be like? Would her secret be revealed? Would everyone then try to use her to their advantage, as her mother always told her they would? In that case, she had better be more cautious, get the mushrooms, and then flee the forest as fast as she possibly could.

—-------------------------------------------------

I never really meant Voltage to be the spotlight of the story, which is why I tried to make her inconspicuous by just happening to bump into Tide. I mean, I don’t really want the plot to be centered around everyone finding out her powers (they aren’t that great anyway). So can somebody move the attention, and not have everyone discover her yet? But maybe one or two cats can find out. If somebody for some reason is set on having part of the plot be about finding out Voltage’s powers, please let me know.

Tide had not been in a good mood to start with. If his mood before bumping into the cats had been bad, it was not horrific. This is why I stay in the ocean, like any normal, sane person, so I can swim instead of slamming into cats, left and right! he thought angrily.
Tide soared in a wobbly line above the forest, he was still looking for the doctor. The doctor was the only person outside of the sea Tide had ever met. He was a forest winged cat and knew much about the herbs and plants that grew in the Great Forest. The Great Forest was only a few miles away from the sea. The High Mountains were not too far to the south of the Great Forest.
Tide had no idea where the doctor lived in the Great Forest. Actually, Tide didn't even know if the doctor lived there. He knew the doctor had come from there when he came before to bind up his mother's injured paw (she had stepped on a crab, who had not apprectiated it). Tide soon realized that he was going to have to actually go down into the forest to find the doctor. Forest winged cats were very good at blending into their surroundings and Tide doubted he would be able to see the doctor from this height. He sighed and dove erratically toward the trees.
He crash landed, his face slamming into the dirt and pine needles of the forest floor, which was not remotely comfortable. He leapt up with a growl. "I am DONE FLYING!" he snarled. "I'll walk the rest of the way." He loped through the woods, eyes flying this way and that, searching. Honestly, walking wasn't a whole lot better than flying. He had spent almost exculsively his entire life in the ocean, except for the few times when he would run along the shore line. So his feet were stumbling and unsure. Finally, after he had been searching for three hours, he plopped on the ground, trying to think about something other than the singing in his aching paws or how usueless his search had been. There's got to be something! Someone! he thought desperately. "I never should have flown off like that," Tide muttered miserably. Usually he was a very sensible cat and thought things out before acting. But his mother had been gone for two weeks and he had no idea what had happened to her. His father had died before he was born and as the oldest sibling, it was up to him to take care of his family.
He had two little sisters, one only a year yonger and one three years younger. The youngest one was Wave and she had been sick for almost a week now, and it wasn't getting better. None of the usual rememdies he and his other sister, Tempest, had tried had worked. She just kept getting sicker, and sicker. So finally he had decided to go look for the doctor, leaving Tempest to take care of Wave. But it was hopeless. He had failed. Tide couldn't find the doctor anywhere. Suddenly, he heard a snap of twigs. He shrank into the darkness of the shadow of a tall fir tree.  A silvery cat past by him, looking anxiously left and right. Suddenly, Tide realized it was the cat from earlier, the one he'd sat on. Not sure what else to do he called out to her, "Hey, um, do you know where the doctor lives?"
................................
Sally soared through the air, doing loop-the-loops and twirling. She was ecstatic. It was the most gorgeous day ever! She glanced down at the Great Forest, which she was now zooming over and she had a lovely thought. I'll go and get some flowers for my cousin! she thought delightedly. She'll love that! Sally gracefully landed on the pine covered floor of the forest and padded off, humming a cheery tune.

The group of cats had gone their separate ways and Kindle was bored of hiding behind a tree so she decided to continue her search. She wasn’t exactly sure what she was looking for… something about mushrooms? Or herbs? She supposed she should have paid attention when she was sent to fetch help but Kindle had a habit of not paying attention when something was important. After all, she could do everything on her own just fine, couldn’t she? But now she was in an unknown forest with people injured and counting on her and she couldn’t even remember what she was sent to get! She mentally scolded herself for getting into this predicament. Just then she heard a voice call through the trees. “ Hey, um, do you know where the doctor lives?” Ahh yes! She thought, a doctor, that’s just what I need! So she hurried closer, hoping she wouldn’t have to talk to any pesky forest cats. Of course she hadn’t met any forest cats before so she had no idea if they were pesky or not but that was beside the point.

Tide looked uncertainly at the cat who now padded toward him. She had sandy fur with brown spots beneath her eyes. She had a long scar running down her side and she was rather small. Noramlly, he wouldn't reach out to an unknown cat in this way, but he really needed help. "Do you know where he lives? I know someone who's sick and I need help."

Kindle narrowed her eyes at the strange blue cat in front of her. He was staring at her warily and kept looking over his shoulder nervously like he had somewhere to be. She supposed she should be wary as well but he was the same cat who had fallen out of a tree so she assumed he wasn't much of a threat. "I don't." She said thoughtfully. "But I'm looking for one as well." The poor blue cats face fell and she felt a a little sorry for him. Then she noticed the silvery cat a few feet away. "Well," she said looking pointedly at her. "Do you?"

This is my first RP so don't expect the best of me!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nightingale sat quietly in the long grass, camouflaged in the wind. A green-winged cat was sitting on a branch near her.
She looked up from where she was sitting and saw a silver-winged cat flying gracefully in the sky. So peaceful it was here, camouflaged in the breezes.
All of a sudden, a green-blue cat came crashing down, bumping into the silver-winged one. They hung in the air for a moment, and then twisted up into each other and barreled down toward her. It was almost as if they could see her. She pulled the breezes toward her, just in case.
The twisted cats narrowly missed her, and as she grabbed the wind, they jolted up toward the green cat in the tree. What was her name, Ivy?
 There was no time for that, now. She shrunk down in the grass, purring.
Whoops. She wasn't supposed to do that. She quickly stopped, and pulled at the breezes again, watching the grass change direction.
Nightingale wouldn't let herself relax. She was not allowed to do anything that would have her discovered.
I just hope they won't discover my secrets. I just have to be more careful, and appear. When I'm ready.
Right. When she was ready, which would be never, because she knew she always managed to spill something. She had stopped pushing herself after she had been having a good conversation with another cat, and had never seen the cat again. Why? Because she had blown away the cat on accident. It felt easier when she wasn't telling herself "Don't reveal any secrets." and, "Keep your wind powers in. Don't let them out, and most importantly, don't blow away anyone."
She used to be afraid that there was some cat out there who knew how to read minds. She had been assured by her parents that there wasn't.
So she watched the two cats talk. She eventually learned the cats' names were Voltage and Tide. And then there was brown cat, too.
Maybe I should just make an appearance. Right now. But then I would startle all the cats, and then I would spill all my secrets.
She pushed the thought away for a while, then pulled it back.
Some other way. I could appear some other way.
Pulling the wind with her, she quietly padded toward the shadows. That big rock. It would do. She could just pretend that she had just arrived, and she was just some shy cat.
She took a deep breath, and let go of the wind, walking out from behind the boulder.
Okay, so honestly, I had a GREAT time writing this! It's my first RP, so I hope I didn't do anything wrong. :|
Lol, I just realized I only used Nightingale's name two times.
I'm thinking that Zyranna might be able to discover Nightingale's secrets because she can mind-read.
Voltage backed away from Tide, hardly even paying attention to his question. Finally it registered in her panicked brain just as Kindle came towards them.
Her thoughts raced. Quick! Answer and then run for it before any more cats appear in the woods! If there’s a mind reading cat nearby, you are DOOMED. No, no, that other cat is talking now, if you interrupt again everyone will think you are weird.
Voltage finally decided to scurry behind a tree and just listen. She would make her move the moment the two cats left. It was at that moment that Kindle looked straight at her. “Well, do you?”
“No. I didn’t know a doctor lived here. I'm just looking for mushrooms to make ointment because–never mind, I can’t really help. Sorry.”
Was I going to say that I need mushrooms to make ointment because my mother got hurt by my lightning magic? If so, she really had to get out of the forest before she got into more trouble. Forget the mushrooms.
hmm. I should reveal myself now.
I dropped out of the tree, graceful as a waterfall, in front of Voltage.
"you need healing mushrooms?" I asked. Voltage yelped and scrambled back.
"uh- um, where did you come from??" she said. I smiled.
"the tree." I answered, pointing up. I trotted into the bushes and quickly found a cluster of healing mushrooms. I picked some and gave them to Voltage. I smiled.
I looked at something and said, "hey, what's that?" I quickly vanished into the forest while everyone was looking around nervously. as I slipped away, I heard some kind of crackle, and then a yelp, but it was nothing.
right?
it was nothing, I reassured myself as I made my way to the forest village to report to my parents.
Tide looked around, trying to see what the strange comaflouged cat had seen. When he turned back towards he, she was gone. "Hey, no, wait!" he shouted desperately, but she was gone. Tide wanted to scream. There she had been, someone who had scooped healing mushrooms from practically nowhere. If anyone could have helped him, it would have been her! And she was gone. He'd failed. AGAIN. Tide snarled in frustration and ripped at the ground.
Suddenly, he turned to the silvery cat with the mushrooms. It looked as if she was about to take off. "Hey, no, please wait! Could I just-" but she had already zipped away. "No!" Tide shouted. He careened upwards, but by the time he had crashed out of the tree tops, she was long gone. Tide sank back to the forest floor, devastated. Now what? he wondered in despair.
"Hey." Tide looked up. It was that other cat, the sandy furred one. What was her name? He didn't even know. "You know, I'm looking for some medicine too," she told him. "Maybe we could look together. Two pairs of eyes are better than one, right? Also, you clearly need some major help with your flying skills. Seriously, YOU ARE TERRIBLE. No offense, or anything. By the way, I'm Kindle."
Tide studied Kindle, uncertain. She seemed a little bit rude, and Tide wasn't really sure what to make of her exactly. Under normal circumstances, there was no way he would've said yes. But.... Tide sighed then nodded. "Yes. Please. I'd... be glad of the help. My name's Tide. Or just Ti, if you like. Do you know anything about mushrooms? Or herbs? Do you have an idea of where we could start looking for the doctor?"
Nightingale swallowed. She was still a little in the shadows a little. The two cats in front of her were talking about a doctor.
Stay out of this. You'll blow one of those cats away. Don't try to help.
Somehow her legs didn't obey her brain. They slipped out from underneath her, right into full light.
Voltage was gone. There was just Kindle and Tide. She had to help them, she knew it. But how would she without blowing them away? But still, impulsively, she greeted them.
"Hi," she said, doing all she could to hold the wind back. "I'm Nightingale."
Then she thought for a moment. What would the cats think of her?
She swallowed her secrets down. "Do you...um...want something? I-I heard you talking about doctors."
Great. Now she was going to try to be friends, and then she would all of a sudden blow away one of them. Or both.
Her heart beat. "I know a place where a doctor lives."
What was she saying? Was she just...crazy? She did know a doctor, but why had she even said anything?
Don't say anything else. You'll blow them away, for certain!
But she knew she just had to help.
“You do?!” Kindle leaped forward and came face to face with the elegant gray cat who had just stepped out of the shadows. She had pretty bird-like wings, silver blue streaks and seemed sort of shy and nervous. Her fur was blowing in the wind which was very strange since it was a fairly nice day with no breeze that Kindle could feel. She didn’t linger on that thought though because she needed a doctor and soon. “Um,” said the dainty gray cat taking a step back but Kindle interrupted her. “Where? Please take us, it’s URGENT.” Well, she wasn’t sure it was urgent for Ti since he hadn’t yet told her why he was here but she assumed it was. The blue cat was a few steps behind Kindle and he had a hopeful grin on his face. The new cat (what had she said her name was? Nightingale?) studied the two of them, her face creased in worry. “Yes,” she finally said. “I can lead you if you want.” Kindle's face broke out in a grin too. “That would be wonderful,” she said with a glance at Tide. Finally things were looking up.
Nightingale swallowed. What had she gotten herself into?
"I-I-I-I-I-yes," she said, nervously fumbling around with her paws.
Now she had to lead two cats to the doctor. And without blowing them away.
"Um...Come with me." she finally said, making sure the wind was far from the cats.
She lifted off the ground gracefully, her wings flapping, and beckoned for the cats to join her. The wind was tingling around her, trying to get to her. She wouldn't let it.
But she couldn't help feeling curious. What did Kindle and Tide need from the doctor?
Tide was still on the ground. "Are you coming?" she asked, looking at him.
What am I doing? This is crazy. Two cats are at the risk of blowing away.
But she eyed Tide. He could easily be knocked off course while flying. Would he come? He could disturb the force field she had against the wind. And then the cats would be blown away, never to trust her again. How could she ever make friends with these uncontrollable powers?
Nightingale rose higher into the sky, Kindle following. Maybe, if she tried hard enough to let the wind know it wasn't welcome, she would be able to talk with Kindle. They could become friends!
No. It's never going to happen. Forget it.
But how could she make any friends with so much going on inside herself?
