"IVY!" I shouted.

still no answer. no.

no, I have to find her. I HAVE to, because otherwise my life will be for nothing.

I ran through the thick undergrowth of the forest, heedless of the thorns and vines that snagged at my fur.

she can't have gone far.

unless she was kidnapped.

I shook a spindly branch off my tail. I leaped up a tree, digging my claws into the soft bark. I perched on a high branch like an eagle.

I closed my eyes, swiveling my ears. I breathed in the cool, wet night scents, searching for a familiar smell, or a sound.

there- some noise... but it sounded like multiple Cats. I listened, hearing several crashes, some yelling. it did not sound good.

a stick cracked underneath me. my eyes shot open, and I trained my ears on the forest floor.

a Cat was moving through the shadows. I tracked their momevents, silent and unmoving.

the Cat seemed to be moving towards the source of the loud crashing noise. they tripped slightly, and I heard a dull clink. the Cat cursed and resumed their course through the forest.

when they were out of earshot, I climbed down the tree. their scent hung in the air, like a curtain of moss. it smelled of doom and death, but it wasn't unpleasant. strange.

I inspected their trail. it was too dark to see footprints, unfortunately.

but they did leave something.

a small orb, a little smaller than my eye. in the soft moonlight filtering through the leaves above me, the orb glinted silver, with a hint of red.

I tucked it into the pouch around my shoulder. I'm coming to save you, Ivy. no matter what.

and I think I found a clue.

Tide sat in the circle of cats. Fir began his story. "A long time ago, I knew your parents, Nightingale. They were wonderful Cats, and I was honored to know them." Nightingale nodded glumly. It seemed she had heard this story before, Tide thought. "I don't know all of their story, but I do know that around the time when your mother was pregnant with you they were fighting someone. Someone bad. I can't recall what they called the Cat. On the night you were born, Nightingale, your mother came here to have you. She needed help, you see. She told me that things were happening tonight that might change things forever. I don't know what things she meant or for whom the things would change, but I decided what with your mother trying to have a baby and all I should probably wait to ask. Your mother had you and when she first licked your fur she had tears in her eyes. She named you Nightingale. She asked me to take care of you. I was startled. I had never had a child before and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to take care of you properly. But your mother begged me. She said that after tonight, she might not... come back." Fir took a deep breath and continued. "She explained to me that you would have powers, dangerous powers. I don't understand it all, but I think since your father was an Ocean Cat that somehow made you more powerful than the average Magic Winged Cat. As you two saw back there, Nightingale has very powerful wind powers. I'm telling you all this so you won't freak out and rush off telling every Cat you come to about it. This is so important: YOU CANNOT TELL ANYONE. There are Cats out there who'd do a lot to have powers like Nighingale's. So, do I have your word you won't tell anyone?" Tide and Kindle nodded. "Good," Fir said, relaxing. "Now, you needed a doctor, correct?" Tide and Kindle nodded vigurously and began explaining their seperate delimmas. "Slow down there!" Fir rumbled. "Now one at a time." Tide felt his heart pounding in relief as Fir explained what he should do and gave him a leather bag of fine sandy stuff to treat Wave with. Fir frowned when he heard Kindle's story. "From the sound of it, you'll need more than I can give you," he told her. "So I'll tell you how and where you can collect the things you'll need."
Once he had told them what to do, there was an awkward moment of silence. Nightingale spoke up in a small voice. "Um, maybe you two could come and... visit sometime?" she looked up hopefully. Tide eyed her nervously. He had seen what she could do. She was dangerous. But she was also an orphan, from the sound of it, or pretty close to one. "Yeah," said Kindle, "maybe."
Nightingale looked at Tide pleadingly. Tide shifted nervously. Kindle shoved him in the ribs. "Ouch! Oh, er, yes, sure Nightingale!" he said quickly. Nightingale smiled in relief. "I can fly with you to the forest, if you want!" She said looking hopefully at them. "Sure," said Tide. Fir bid them  farewell and they leaped into the air outside his cabin. It was less windy than last time. As they sank below towards the forest trees, Tide felt his wings jerking strangely. I guess I still haven't got the hang of flying, he thought ruefully. But Kindle was jerking oddly too. "What the-?!" Tide began, but before he could finish, both he and Kindle were speeding into the forest, in a direction Tide was not choosing. "Hey!" he shouted. He could hear Nightingale calling for them. Before he could do anything more, he fell through something and landed on hard stone, in a dark place. Befoer he could get up, Kindle smashed on top of him. Am I destined to be used as a pillow? he wondered.

Kindle was lost in her thoughts as she and Tide flew back toward the forest. She had taken way more time then she should have and she was glad to be back on track to helping her tribe. All she had to do now was find the herbs and plants the doctor had told her could help the rashes caused from the storm and then she could be on her way back to the desert. Oh how she missed the desert! She had only been gone a couple hours or so but the forest and mountains were no place for her. How could cats live in such cold and damp weather? Her thoughts circled back to Nightingale. Part of her pitied the poor Magic Winged cat. She couldn’t control her dangerous powers -she seemed tormented by them- and she couldn’t get the mournful look that Nightingale had given her when Fir had told them about her story. That was why Kindle had agreed to come visit her. She had no desire to come back to the windy cold mountains or the pineneedle-y forest but MAYBE just maybe she would do it for Nightingale. Also for Tide though he didn’t live here. She wondered what it was like to live by the ocean. Water was scarce in the desert and she couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be surrounded by it always. She was about to open her mouth and ask him when she felt her wings starting to jerk out of control. She looked to the side to see if Nightingale was doing something with the wind again but the cat was just staring confused. “ Kindle?” Nightingale asked. “ Are you alright?” She was about to answer but then she started plummeting toward the ground incapable of control. Tide was ahead of her screaming as he fell. Or maybe it was her that was screaming but the trees blurred around her and the ground came closer and then… she landed on something soft. Well that wasn’t what I was expecting, she thought. She opened her eyes (she had closed them when she saw the ground approaching) and saw a pretty shade of blue. Oh no. She jumped up and saw Tide glaring at her from his smushed position on the ground. “ Sorry! Sorry.” She said, embarrassed. Then she looked around. They were in someplace made of stone and it was dark and damp. It was closed off on all sides like some sort of cave or prison and it was cramped as well. Tide got up too and they shared a look of horror. Nightingales' voice came from somewhere above them, faint but frantic. Why did everything terrible have to happen?! It felt like everything that could go wrong did and now she was trapped in a dark, cold, and damp prison with no way to get the plants she needed and get back home. Nothing was going her way today and she felt helpless.

///Tinder//

It went on like that for about thre more hours. Me, complaining about my sister while attacking a dummy. Soon after I stopped, I realized I should be getting home. Even though I was mad at my sister, I loved her..I sighed, hitting the dummy one more time to break it in to a million pices. After kicking it into the woods, I flew up into the air. My black wing pumping heavily to bring me up higher. I heard the beatin of another set of wings, no two pairs. I opened my eyes, on my left a gleaming white cat was flying twoards me. Her pink eyes wind and her pink and blue wings beating the air to stop her self. On my right a grey-brown cat dove at from up above, untucking his green wings mid dive. I looked at both at them, neither seemed to slow down enough to not hit me. ugh I thought, quickly spreading my wings to bring me upwards. Gently, I shoved the grey-brown cat out of the way. He looked at me in confusion as he spirled to the ground. I shruged, wich was a mistake by the way. Because I had taken my atention from the white cat, who then slamed into me. Both of us fell to the ground, lading in a tangled head of wings and paws..

"OOOOWW!" Sally howled. How had she managed to crash into that Cat? She had not found any flowers in the forest and so she had been heading out. She had been in rather a hurry. She was worried her cousin Willow might have already landed and be wondering where she was.
"Ge' off," grumbled the Cat. She had huge black wings with the very tips of the feathers a flaming orange. Her body fur was a brilliant, startaling red. Her golden eyes flashed, changing color. "What do you think you're doing?" She snarled in annoyance. Sally leaped back, feeling scared.
"I-I didn't mean to do anything," she stammered. Suddenly, another Cat appeared at their sides. Sally hadn't noticed him before. Her eyes widened as she stared at him. He was making the silliest face she had ever seen. What was he doing? Was it on purpose? She smothered a giggle.
The Cat shook his head, removing the look. Once it was gone, he looked concerned and his stance seemed confident, sure of himself. He was gray-brown with a touch of orange swirled in. He had dark green, thin wings and tail. He had a messy furry brown mane and orange-brown eyes.
"Have either of you seen another Forest Cat around here?" he asked in a nobly accented, soft yet carrying voice.

Tristitia~~~~

Silence. There is nothing better than the sound of silence, because in silence I can lose myself and forget my thoughts, nothing in my head but the whistling of the wind through my fur. Nothing to focus on but the delicate intricies of flight as I ducked and turned above the forest.

I needed to get away, away from the party--away from the sounds and colors of the cats as they socialized.

It was peaceful up here, but I couldn't stay. I had a job to do and the party needed their entertainment. I turned around, ready to fly back to the party, when something caught my attention.

Down below I saw a fire cat get knocked into by another prism cat. Curious, I followed them down to the ground as they growled and yelled, trying to get their bearings.

They managed to right themselves out before landing and I stopped, I recognized that prism cat! It was Sally, I've been hired to sing at her father's parties before. What was she doing here?

"Get off" the fire cat growled.

Sally quickly got off and started to apologize, so they were both startled when a gray-brown forest cat appeared from the woods.

"Have any of you seen a another Forest Cat around here?" he asked.

Flickers of gray-blue swirled around him, despite his calm appearance he was worried to death. Something bad had obviously happened and I couldn't help myself from wondering what it was.

Then I remembered something, last time I was in the forest I'd caught the shadow of intense fear, something terrible had happened... perhaps something to do with his missing friend?

"You should check the darkest part of the forest" I spoke up from behind.

Everyone jumped and looked at me, with bristling fur.

I frowned, "Something bad happened there not too long ago".

~~~~~~~~~~
I have finally managed a post! I hope it's ok if I joined in the quest for Ivy.
I sucked in a breath. "the darkest part of the forest?" I asked.
the other Cat nodded.
I eyed the trees. something was off... Ivy wouldn't simply run away. and something bad happening...
I suddenly leaped towards the dark part of the forest. someone yelped, but I didn't look back. I ran and ran, heedless of the cobwebs and swamps and quicksand and snakes that inhabited the dark forest.
I had to find Ivy. I needed to.
I kept running until my paws suddenly sank into what was unmistakably quicksand.
Sally shifted awkwardly from paw to paw. The noble looking cat had dashed off into the forest at the words of Tristitia. Sally was shocked that someone as renowned as Trisitia would be wandering around in a place like this, but she was also here... So now she stood feeling awkward between Tristitia and the red furred cat. "Uh, well, I should be going now," she began, but just then, sand whipped up around them. She coughed for a moment. The sands settled. "You see, my cousin is expecting me, so I'll just-" but once again the sand interrupted her. She squinted out at the desert. A dark cloud was heading their way. The red furred cat whipped around.
"Crumbs!" she gasped. Then she turned back to the others. "QUICK!" she shouted as the wind picked up. "INTO THE FOREST!" Sally didn't wait to be told twice. She knew how dangerous desert storms could be. As she shot toward the forest, she thought she heard the sound of a cat's wailing on the wind.
