Nightingale struggled breathlessly, trying hard to push the chains off her. The wind seemed to have crept in, swirling around her, but the chains refused to budge. She tried summoning the wind underneath her wrists, to blow the chains off, but it only made blood stream down. She flapped her wings, lifting off the ground until her chains stopped her. But she could almost touch the low bars of her cell. She tried desperately to slip underneath the bars or in between. So she kept fluttering. Then she clawed at the bars. She narrowed her eyes to slits and gripped the bars, trying desperately to bend them.

It's no use. I won't be able to get out.

She kept trying to slip her thin body in between the bars, using her fangs to pick a lock, trying to lick a bar loose. Then she felt cold metal against her tongue. She instantly began to lick the metal at the bottoms of the bars. Then she licked her chains. She licked the cuffs, and pretended to be cleaning herself in the process when Amethyst came by to check on her. She would lick those metals until they rusted. Narrowing her eyes again, she closed her teeth around one of the bars, and twisted. It was a bit of an effort, but the metal turned around, and the bar came loose.

Nightingale smiled to herself, and started "cleaning herself" again, licking the chains when she sensed any shadows approaching.

She knew how to escape.

∆Amethyst∆

I walked around quietly, checking on all the prisoners. Arbor and the fire cat were laying down. I passed by the new cat, who was licking herself. I continued walking, dissapearing and appearing from the shadows. As I approached my cave, I froze. There was something suspicious about the magic cat. I flew back, cloaking myself with shadows. I was right. The cat had pulled out the bars. She was clever. I let shadows grab her paws first, and then appeared. She tried sending storms, but it was no use. The shadows wouldn't let her. "Don't you dare," I growled. She tried flying, and I called more shadows to keep her wings down. "Looks like we have to find somewhere more secure." I said. She thrashed and shook her paws. I locked her up in a different cell, where the chains wouldn't snap and she couldn't move. I added extra shadow cuffs and locked the cell tight. "Don't think about escaping again, or you'll be sorry." I hissed, and with that, vanished again. I was going to call Equinox. Someone this powerful would be useful.

Nightingale narrowed her eyes as she was dragged into a cell, covered all over in darkness.

Alright, she thought. Plan B.

She called after the cat. "What happened to you? What made you this cruel? Why are you doing this to me?"

She threw the questions at the black cat. Then she tried with all her might to lick the cuffs again, but something seemed to push her tongue back.

Then Nightingale tried summoning the wind. Nothing. She wondered if there were other cats in this cave.

Tide and Kindle. What happened to them?

They had left her, but who knows if they had been catnapped or not.

She narrowed her eyes and summoned the wind. Somehow or other, she would get out of this cell, too. So she blew the wind at the bars and chains. She blew at the lock and the shadows. She blew a whirlwind around the cave. If Tide and Kindle were here, they would know. They would surely know.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oof, she's in a pickle. Only the wind can move, now.
///Tinder///
I gasped...it was a dream. I kept my head low, my captor padded past me. I closed my eyes, sounds swarmed around me. I lifted my head a little bit, she dragged another cat in ..a magic cat....How many cats are going to be in here by the time.."he" comes...
the shadows bent around his paws as he walked- or rather, drifted- closer. closer to the cave that held the imprisoned Cats.
Equinox stepped into the mouth of the cave. the air grew cold, and inky darkness slowly flooded the cave, like a carpet for the terrifying Cat to walk on.
Amethyst walked around the corner and noticed Equinox. "my master." she murmured respectfully.
"Amethyst. have you found the Amulet?" Equinox said.
Amethyst stepped backwards. "n-not yet."
Equinox growled. "I must have it before the Night of Destiny. I will give you until the night before, and if the Amulet is not in my paws before then... you will never see the light of day again."
Amethyst crouched to the floor, her ears flat against her head. "six nights?? You- I mean... yes, master."
Equinox walked past her and went to inspect the prisoners.
"UNCLE" I yelled. " Why am I here again? I don't like the way that orange and red cat is looking at me..like I did something to her..like she want's to kill me" I wrikled my snout. The Fire cat glared at me, then scooched closer tot he Forest cat next to her. I crab walked over to Amethyst "Hi" I said akwardly "Hi, I'm Abyss...who are all of these cat's....that one is looking at me weird...why?"
Voltage came back to consciousness with a start. Her head ached. Apparently she had been thrown to the floor. Cautiously, she felt around herself to check for any broken bones, but thankfully, there was none. She had escaped with only a concussion. She breathed a sigh of relief and then froze when she heard voices.
First came the voice of the cat who had thrown her. “My master,” she said.
“Amethyst.” It was a hissing, frightening voice. “Have you found the Amulet?” So that was that cats name. Amethyst.
“N-not yet,” Amethyst stammered.
The other cat–Amethyst’s master–growled. "I must have it before the Night of Destiny. I will give you until the night before, and if the Amulet is not in my paws before then... you will never see the light of day again."
"Six nights??” Amethyst asked, “You–I mean... yes, master."
It took only a split second for Voltage to make the connection between the necklace she had found and this Amulet of Fate. She stared at it. There were already two new fates on them:
“Tinder is easily BURNED as well.
Nightingales are ENCAGED.”
At this rate, the whole population would vanish. She had to escape, as fast as possible, and warn the other cats. Voltage struggled to her paws, but then a surge of pain ran through her head and she sat down abruptly. Right. She had a head injury.
But the worst was that she was the only person who knew that Amethyst's master planned to kill her, Ivy, Tide, Kindle, whoever Fir and Tinder and Nightingale was... that was 7 cats. And she knew that more would appear on the amulet in the days to come.
***
I have an idea for the Amulet of Fate. I know that amulets are supposed to protect the wearer from something, so having an amulet just magically write fates doesn’t exactly make sense. So maybe we could make it protect the wearer. Or we could also make it so it is some powerful charm that does multiple things, such as enhancing magical powers, which might explain why Equinox is so powerful. Does anyone like the idea?
It could have been minutes or hours or days or even years. Kindle had lost track of time without Tide. The dark stole everything away from her and held her in its grasp. But the “Voice” had made a mistake. He had given her motivation and a light in the dark even if it was just a spark. She wouldn’t give up no matter what the darkness forced her to do. She was the feisty one, the one with spirit. She stood up on her weak paws and strained her eyes against the dark. Nothing. Well ok then, if her eyes didn’t work she’d just have to use her other senses to the max. She started with smells. Damp fur, cold metal, and… wait. She could smell other cats! She tried to make out Tides' familiar scent but just then a strong gust of wind whirled around her prison and screamed in her ears. Just when she couldn’t take the strong blast anymore, it blew away into the darkness leaving her wind blown and stunned. “What the heck was that?” She said aloud then jumped because it was so strange to hear her own voice. Then she remembered. Nightingale! Nightingale had to be here! That spark of hope grew into a flame. Nightingale was feisty too. She had a strong spirit just like Kindle and together they could push away the dark. She wishes there was some way to show Nightingale that she got her message. She couldn’t call out, whatever that “Voice” was would stop her. Just then she heard footsteps coming closer. “Hello Kindle,” Said the “Voice.” He was back. Then she got an idea. “Excuse me,” she said, glad he couldn’t see her grin in the darkness. “But there’s a Magic Cat in these caves that has a strange power with the wind. A couple minutes ago she sent a terrible storm through all the cages. Could you please tell her that I, Kindle, told her to stop?” “Hmm.” She could hear his displeasure. “A power with the wind? I’ll be back.” He started to hurry away toward where Kindle assumed Nightingale’s cage would be. “Just remember that Kindle told her to stop!” She called after him. She desperately hoped she had done the right thing. She needed Nightingale to know she was here but what if Kindle had just put her in more danger? She felt sick to her stomach and she lade down on the wet stone floor. Only time would tell.
YAY~Nightingale is FINALLY going to be found!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nightingale struggled.

"Why are you so heartless?" she asked the black cat.

But there was no answer. Then she snarled at the shadows and bit at them. They came away in a bitter taste on her tongue, but that didn't matter. She was going to escape anything the black cat did. She gnawed at the shadows for a long time until she was free. Then she gnawed at the shadow chains. After a bit of effort, all the shadows were down her throat. She rusted the metal chains, and got those off, too.

She looked at the floor, which were hard pebbles that hurt her paws. But she unleashed her claws, and put them in a neat pile, pretending to entertain herself. She moved jaggedly on purpose, so when Amethyst looked, she wasn't suspicious. She moved as if she were still in those shadows and chains. Bit by bit, she took clumps of pebbles, and made a messy picture made of pebbles. She layered those, until she had made a pebble tower that looked artistic enough to fool Amethyst. At last she reached a brown pebble. She started to pick it up with her teeth, but it came away into soil. Quick as a flash, when Amethyst had moved to check on the other cats, who were far in the cave. She dug straight into the soil, dragging the chains with her. She'd made a hole too soon. She knocked over the tunnel as quietly as she could. All it sounded like was a cat moving around in pebbles. Then she dug a farther tunnel, and piled the pebbles over the hole. It didn't look suspicious at all. It looked like she had disappeared into thin air, shadows and all. Once she was convinced she was far down enough, she dug straightforward. Her claws ached, and they had dirt under them, but she clawed hard. She thought about the other cats. Should she save them?

Tide and Kindle might be one of them, she thought. And then she hit something hard. It was a large stone, blocking her way. She tried to dig around it, but she found it kept going on. So she dug above but the stone was still there. Then she dug up, very carefully, and found pebbles. There was a muffled mew. There's a cat right above me, she thought. But it was too dangerous. What if Amethyst caught her? She pawed away the pebbles a bit more. Then she poked her claw into a little hole. A small bit of light streamed into the tunnel. She pressed her eye up and touched fur. It was definitely another cat. She felt it again. It was gray-brown and a little dark green.

"Um..." she whispered. "Hi. I'm here to help you."

When the cat didn't notice she gave a little scratch. The cat turned around with a jolt.

"Hi...I'm trying to help." she repeated. Then, without a word, she clawed away more pebbles. The cat was staring at her. "I'm...Nightingale."

She was especially shy around male cats. They were different. All of them were different than her.

"Whaaat?" the cat whispered.

"Tide...it's me. It's Nightingale."

"I didn't know you were here! I-"

But Tide was staring at her, and then she realized. She had been imagining. This was NOT Tide. This was a different cat. But it wasn't Ivy, either. Then, she said, "What's...your name? I-I didn't mean to call you-I mean-I never meant to call you...Tide."

The cat's face faded into Tide again. Nightingale pursed her lips. She was not going to say anything to this cat. She was trying to save Tide and Kindle...but these cats were different.

"Who else is here?" she asked.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Um, Darkvine, so I was thinking the cat she's trying to save right now is Arborvitea, so can you make him respond if you want him to meet her? Sorry I'm kind of excited about this RP!
I thought hard. "well... if I'm not the only Cat here, my friend Ivy might be here!" I brightened, a new surge of determination rushing through me.
I twitched my ears, checking for any creepy Cats. none that were dangerously close.
"can you get me out of here?" I asked exitedly. "oh- and my name's Arbor."
Nightingale looked very nervous, but she nodded. "H-here." she licked at the chains binding me to the floor. following her example, I began to lick at a different chain. soon, I was free!
"thank you!" I exclaimed. Nightingale nodded again and moved away from the hole as I dropped through it. Nightingale covered the hole with pebbles.
I smiled, feeling the happiest I had been in days and days. "thank you, again!" I said like a total goofball.
"we should rescue the other Cats," Nightingale said. I purred.
"this way," Nightingale said, digging at a wall.
Sorry if I'm posting too much...just having a lot of fun! :P
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nightingale dug through more dirt, with Arbor helping. Then she had an idea. If Arbor was going to keep following her, she might as well ask a few questions...

"Um...sorry. I...I called you Tide earlier. I thought you were someone else. I mean-I thought your were someone I've met. Do you happen to know anyone named Tide? O-o-or Kindle? Or...? I might be able to find Ivy for you. All I know is there are more than just you and me here...there's a LOT more."

Nightingale scratched a pebble ceiling, and peeped through the hole she'd made. "Look," she said to Arbor.

The cat had red fur. She gave a scratch, the same way she'd done for Arbor. But when she touched it, she almost screamed. The fur was burning red hot.

"Do you...know this cat?" she asked Arbor. "Have you maybe seen her before?"

Because this cat was definitely a fire-winged cat.

So Reuby, I was thinking she's going to try to save Tinder. I remember saying that Nightingale could bump into Tinder, but I forgot for a while, so maybe this can be how she bumps into Tinder?

Arbor was talking to another cat....a girl cat...does he....maybe. I shall but in, maybe I can find out.....maybe not. I scooted over to them eyeing the other cat, "Hell-lo Arbor and some random other cat. You, you random cat who just appearedd, how did you get here and who are you...what is your name? And do you have a plan to get out of here, because I do...and it means killing our captor..."

~Nightingale~

Nightingale jumped. She wasn't used to being interrupted.

"Oh!" she felt her cheeks turn pink. "U-um sorry. I got out of my cell. You have to whisper...Here. I can help you get out of yours if you can be less...hot. I'm Nightingale...and I control the wind."

Nightingale felt uncomfortable and hot. "I'm trying to get all the cats out of here. This is Arbor, I rescued him first. Hurry, before Amethyst notices! We'll talk along the tunnel."

The cat was able to cool herself down, and Nightingale licked at the chains just like she had done for herself and Arbor. Together, they freed the cat. She repeated the motions she did and dug down into the pebbles just enough for the red cat to slip through. Then she covered them up again.

"Alright. Now that you're free...what's your name?"

This was better than awesome. She was making FRIENDS. Real friends that were other cats.
