Map Fragment #3

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ Power of Fin

Map Fragment #3

Map Fragment #3

Friends, after days of sailing on flood waters, some of the tunnel explorers and I have literally just washed up on a strange beach. I'm too hungry and thirsty and sunburnt to tell you the full story right now, but here are the basic facts:

The badger is no longer with us. When the Giant Ground Sloth emerged, he gasped and ran toward the pit. It seemed the two were old friends from the days the tunnels were the Power of Claw outpost. The old badger threw himself down into the pit and caught onto the huge beast's fur. It looked like he was trying to hug it. But I'm not sure the Sloth recognized him. There was a tussle and a roar, and then a massive amount of water rushed up from beneath and overwhelmed us.

Either the drill or the Giant Ground Sloth must've opened some kind of underground reservoir beneath the Labyrinth Lands. The underground reservoir flooded the tunnels, the Labyrinth Lands, and everything within sight.

Sprocketville, my hometown just southeast of the Labyrinth Lands, was built to withstand devastating attacks of all kinds, but I'm a little worried about how long my family's supplies will last...

Anyway, it's a miracle my phone camera still works! But thank goodness it does, because we found a map on the beach, and I suspect it'll be of some use:

Oh no, poor badger! Cry SUNLIGHT! I feel blind in the sunlight! But I'm so glad to be out of there!

(This is Jaaws)~

I'm about to enter the tunnel with the treelike rocks when I hear a rushing noise. Before the water can reach me, I turn around and fly away. I suppose my work here is done. I have a new mission now: Find another source for the Brazen Goo. Just in case Catastrophe doesn't...keep his promise.

"HAIDES!" I roar. "TO ME!"

Let's see if I can trust my servant to do my bidding. It's time to put him(?) to the test...

This is amazing Charlie! I can *cough* barely *cough cough* talk for seawater, but still, this is great. I'm guessing the first step would be to find out more about this underwater ball. If they're choosing a new guardian, then they must know where Ayearth is.

I have no idea why I am posting lots of stuff but I (embarrassedly) admit that it is getting dull staying in Yerennem all the time...

*tightly clenches the dolphin tooth she is holding and wades into the water*

*concentrates on dolphing and realizes her hand is quivering*

*dives into the cool water and happily swims deeper down looking for hints of what is going on these days*

Also I hope you do believe I'm an Animagicker now...

I can't help feeling that Ayearth's going to be found in Dagger Bay. It just feels... right!

I'm going to tell about what happened when Trill tried to exit the tunnels....since I hadn't seen this in time and was telling everyone I was still in the tunnels.......Sorry guys. :)

Trill-

When the water started flowing into the crack, and the badger leaped onto the sloth, I knew we were done for. Charlie and some of the others started swimming up. I swam down. Why would the badger do that?! Was he alive? I had to check. The sloth started moving around, which created huge Rapids in the water. Quickly pushing against the current, the sloth moaned and started swatting at me. But I was too quick. Dodging the rapids and the swatting, I swam down to the last place I had seen the badger.

"Hello?" I cried. It was really dark, but the water was only knee deep. I waded around on the bottom of the rock pool, and looked around. I saw a black figure in the corner. Quickly, I ran over. It was the badger. I searched for a pulse, but found none. He croaked, "Find.......Aeyorth..."

He spoke no more. I sniffled. But I had to go. I gave his paw a last squeeze, then jumped up really high. The water was pouring into the crevice, so I launched myself up the waterfall. Swimming against the current was really hard, but I pushed and pushed. Finally, I could swim straight up. I took a deep breath and squeezed my eyes shut.

I swam for what felt like forever. Finally, I stopped, and just let the current carry me. I floated for days. I think I slept half of the time. Finally, I beached up on the shore of............somewhere.

Where was I? I honestly had no idea. Spitting out seawater, I tried to stand up, but the world was blurry. What had happened? Finally, it became too much. I blacked out.

I woke up hours later in.....a warm and cozy bed? Quickly, I came to, gasped, and almost choked on seawater. Someone rushed over and pounded me on the back. I spit out the seawater and took some deep breaths before I tried to talk.

"Where am I? Who are you?" I asked. The man who had helped me spoke. "You are in Sprocketville. I am George W. (Sorry Charlie if this isn't quite accurate. It's meant to be your parents..)"

I thought, then sat straight up. The world was woozy, but I didn't care. "Charlie! Wiseowl! The others! I.....I need to get...back!" I forced the words out. Everything was starting to swirl. George pushed me back down onto the bed.

"You need to lay down. I found you on the shore, half drowned. You swallowed a LOT of seawater. Take a few breaths. Now, maybe we can both answer each other's questions. How did you land on the shore of Sprocketville?"

i swallowed, hard. I hoped I could trust him. "Me, Charlie, Wiseowl, Thisleclaw, Arra, Thimble, and others were in some tunnels under the Labrinth Lands." My voice dropped to a whisper. "We were looking for the Power of Claw guardian. Unfourtuanly, so was BIG."

At the mention of BIG, George's face hardened. "Go on." He told me.

I swallowed again. "Well, we found them. But so did BIG. Somehow, an underground reservoir broke open. It caused a huge flood. I don't know how large it spreads." George's face was grim. He showed me an image on his phone. I gulped. "That's big..." I whispered.

George nodded and motioned for me to continue speaking.

(Sorry for it being so long, but there is still more I want to write. It will be in my next post.)

Continuing from my last post!

I quickly told George the rest. To his credit, he never tried to interrupt, although I'm sure I sounded crazy. Every time I mentioned Charlie, he grew thoughtful. Halfway through, I paused--to choke on more seawater. Quickly, I spit it out. This was getting annoying. But finally, I finished my tale.

"I know the others got split up. That's why I need to go." George sat for a minute, unmoving.

"My son...?" he whispered. I sat, confused, not saying anything. Then I realized. His must be Charlie's parents' house. Immediately I felt embarrassed. George saw me and laughed out loud. I grinned.

"Here. There was a phone on you, but it got drenched. It was totally waterlogged-there was no way that you would be able to use it. Call your friends. Take your time-I don't mind." He handed me his cell phone and walked away. I smiled. Quickly, I booted up the phone and typed Charlie's cell number into the Phone app. I waited. The phone rang. Finally, it stopped.

"Hello?" a voice croaked. It was Charlie! I whooped with excitement.

"Charlie! It's me! Trill!! I washed up on the shores of Sprocketville!"

Charlie sounded relieved. "Thank goodness your ok. How is...everyone?" he asked. I knew he wanted to know about his parents. I suddenly grew embarrassed.

"They're fine. They took me in. Apparently, your dad found me half drowned on the beach." I swallowed hard again.

"Ok. Good. Has the flood gotten into any houses yet?"

"Not that I can tell. Charlie, who is with you? I'm all alone."

"Let me see. Arra, Storm, Scarlet, Thimble, Thisleclaw.........I don't see anyone else."(sorry if this is inaccurate)

"Ok.....Thank you Charlie! Where are you?!"

"I don't know...on*fzz*beach*fzzzzz*somewhere."

"Charlie? Your breaking up! I can't hear you!"

"Trill!*fzzzfzzz*Call*fzzzz*-owl!"

The line went dead.

I didn't know if that was just bad cell reception on Charlie's end, or if something-gulp-happened.

Who was Fzzowl? Why should I call them??

I thought. Suddenly my eyes lit up. "Wiseowl!" I yelled. Quickly I rapped in her number.

The phone rang. And rang. And rang.

"Come on Wiseowl.....Please pick up!" I muttered. I waited. And waited. And the phone dialed. And dialed. And dialed. And dialed.

Finaly, I heard Wiseowl's voice on the other end. Her reception was even worse. "Hel*fzzz*o?"

"Wiseowl!!! It's me, Trill!  Who's with you? Where are you?!" I cried.

"Trill? *fzzz*"

"Yes! I'm sorry I snapped at you in the tunnels."

"I *fzzzz* just north of*fzzz*Sproc*fzzzz*ille."

The line cut. I growled in annoyance.

At least Wiseowl was close. But who was with her? I knew what I had to do. George came up to me.

"Find out anything useful?" He asked, smiling kindly. I smiled. I felt really bad for what I was about to do..

********

That night, after George and his wife went to bed, I grabbed a spare phone from the bedside table next to me. George had given it to me in case of emergencies. Well, if this wasn't an emergency, I didn't know what was. Quietly, I slid my prepared note on top the covers and made the bed. The world only shifted a little when I stood up. "I'm sorry. Thank you for everything," I whispered. Then I pulled the door to the house open and snuck out.

It was dark outside. Very dark. Quickly, I put the phone in my pocket and ran through the trees. I checked an outdoor compass and it told me I was heading north. Good.

Finally, I reached the other side of Sprocketville. Squinting, I could just barely make out some figures, asleep on the beach. Watching them, I slid further into the bushes to wait.

*******

I must have fallen asleep.  My hair was muddy, and my contacts were on the ground next to me when I awoke. I couldn't even see the color of my hair. And evidently, neither could Wiseowl, for she was standing over me.

"Who are you?" she murmured.

I raised my hands, and brushed off my hair a little. "It's me. Trill. Wiseowl, I'm so glad I found you!"

Wiseowl visibly relaxed as I told her my story. "So, who did you beach up with?" I asked.

"Well, Scarlet. I haven't seen anyone else, but I'll keep my eyes open." I sighed and walked over on the beach to sit down.

"Charlie has most of the people with him, but told me he didn't know where he was." We sighed together. Just then, Scarlet popped out.

"Oh good, you're here," she said to me. "You'll want to see this." Wiseowl and I shared uneasy glances, but followed her. She pushed aside bushes until she came to a clearing. Here was Meela and Charla. But they looked awful. Meela couldn't see, and Charla was obviously sick. I gasped. Quickly, I thought. "Scarlet, Wiseowl. Can you help me bring them to the city of Sprocketville? The vets there can help  them."

Wiseowl shook her head. "You stay here. Here's a map. Try to find out where Charlie and the others are. Scarlet and I will take care of them." I started to protest, but the two animals in front of me looked so funny I laughed instead. "Ok," I said softly. They pushed me in the direction of camp.

I walked back to the camp, map in hand. I sat on the beach, studying it. East Whetsomn? No. They said they were on a shore. What about.....

"Paralia!!" I shouted with excitement.

Continuing from my last post! I know this is going on for a while.....sorry guys. And sorry if I am controlling anyone too much!

"Paralia!" I cried again, when Wiseowl and Scarlet returned.

"Paralia?" Scarlet said, bewildered.

"Paralia!" I said again, happily.

"Ok, everyone stop saying Paralia. Trill, what are you talking about?" Wiseowl said.

I took a deep breath----and spit out a pound of seawater. I groaned--then continued.

"Paralia is where I think Charlie and the others are. They said they were on a beach, and in the background I heard Storm talking about the Above the Sea Ball."

Wiseowl mused, and Scarlet checked the map."You could be right..." Wiseowl said.

"Then let's go!" Scarlet cried.

"Wait-" I croaked, spitting out more seawater. This is soooo annoying, I thought. "There are a couple problems. I don't know how far away Sprocketville is from Paralia. And I really don't want to leave Meela and Charla. Let me try calling Charlie again."

Scarlet and Wiseowl agreed, so I pulled out my phone and punched in Charlie's number. It rang. And rang. And rang. Then he answered.

"Charlie, it's me, Trill. Do you know how far away Sprocketville is from Paralia?"

Hey Admins, what's the scale of the maps? Is this flood the size of a small lake, or 45 square miles of water?
