*HORNSHAW TRAVEL DIARIES

The Travel Diaries of a Very Disgruntled Cornelia Hornshaw

This train is incredibly bumpy. Idiot animals. Can’t invent a steam engine to save their lives. What they call a “train” is just a shoddy construction built of bark, being pulled along by four sullen badgers. Am currently in disguise, wearing sheepskin over my head. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, ha ha ha. Stupid animals are staring at me but I’m sure they don’t suspect that I am human.

Bob and Gog told me I should write in this journal more. They both insist that it will calm my nerves. “Lower your blood pressure,” said Bob, and Gog said, “Take the edge off.” Idiot scientists. I am surrounded by lesser intellects, everywhere I turn. What do animals even do all day? I have studied them for my entire life, and only become more and more convinced that they know nothing. I should have been an astronomer. At least the stars don’t move. You can study them for a lifetime and at the end you’ll have a neat equation that you can write on a piece of paper and frame. This messy natural world--it won’t stay in place long enough for me to figure it out.

A snow leopard just tried to serve me a cup of pine needle soup. I can’t deny the beast has a certain nobility to its look, but the soup? I almost threw up. How do these creatures bear to live like this? Foods I enjoy: cauliflower casseroles, Brussel sprout-and-bacon omelets, club sandwiches with lots of mayonnaise, prune pudding. Real human food. Puts hair on your chest (so to speak).

Headed to northern Kyngdom to search for fourth power in the Decoy Forest. No idea why it’s named that. Stupid forest. Stupid me, taking this ratty train on a fool’s mission. I’m embarrassed to even say this, but I’m not heading here because of any equations or scientific proofs—I’m heading here because I had a hunch. Because I had a dream. It’s very unlike me. But the dream was so strong. I saw it. I saw the fourth Power. It’s in the forest. I long to activate it. To have all four of the major Powers activated--what will happen? The world may burn. Stories have had worse endings.

Ha ha ha. Just joking.

*cough cough* mager powers? Lunee and I are the most majorestist Powers out there. We are light and dark, good and evil. If it werent for us...the world would never be in balance. Never. *coughs again, just to make the point*

I feel like Lunee's and Sylvia's roles got mixed up at some point. Sylvia created all life as far as I know, and I actually don't know what Lunee has done. Oh wait, she gave voices to all the animals. Do you think she gave them intelligence, too?

But yeah, no way Claaws and Lunee are minor Powers.

Lunee and Claaws are THE major powers. Corneilia Hornshaw must be confused. Maybe the four 'Major' Powers are the only ones she's studied. Anyway, there are some confusions about Lunee vs. Sylvia, but as far as my original Power Story goes, Sylvia controls magic and life, and Lunee controls Light and The Night, so like, turning day to night, vise versa, and she gave all the animals their voices.

Forgive me for restarting an already long since finished conversation, but Moonshadow said here--

"Cornelia Hornshaw must be confused. Maybe the four 'Major' Powers are the only ones she's studied. "

I want to put some input on that.

B.I.G has limited resources, and the Powers have only few documents. Since Lunee and Claaws are more mystic and secluded, B.I.G has less input on that.

Exactly what I meant. Although, I am disturbed by a few things still, like that all the Power slots on the home page are filled. The 'Major Powers' are all there, but what about the real major powers? The Power of Tooth/Darkness, and The Power of Howl? Will they not get a place? Will they not be accepted in Kyngdom?

Oh, they'll get a place. And no, they will be accepted. They just won't have Admin-created threads. It's like... It's like bookshelves, and each thread is a book. Notebooks, probably, since we can add to them, and when a thread becomes inactive, the notebook is filled up. This front page is a low bookshelf with four shelves full of books and a big top with more. Each of the Power of ____ things is a shelf, and the front/home/landing page is the top. The RP Board is a kids' bookshelf with one infinite shelf. The admins put new books on the top of the four-shelf bookshelf for each Power, and when that Power is over, they put the books from it on their shelf. The admins are like parents or caretakers, and the only ones who can put books/threads on the front page shelf, but the RP Board is where any of us kids can add as many books as we like, as long as the admins give permission. Right now, the four-shelf main bookshelf is filled up, and the admins aren't carpenters, so they can't add more shelves. So they let us make the books for the Powers of Howl and Fang/Darkness to put on the RP Board shelf. Shelf has stopped seeming like a real word by now.

So, I hope this helped. I can explain further and/or draw it if you want, but... yeah. The Powers of Hoof and Fang/Darkness are up to us, to create by ourselves on the RP Board, or wherever we choose to. They'll have a place; we just have to make it. Not right now, of course, we have the Power of Hoof to do, but when the time comes.

You're right Viola?. Great metaphor, by the way.

Yes, I see. I had always dreamed of seeing a Power I made on the Power shelf, but creating my own book and placing it on our shelf myself, somehow seems almost as good, if not better. For after all, did I not create the Power of Howl? So why not have the privelige of placing it on the shelf. Thank you Viola.

I agree. I used to wonder if I could create my own main power, but if you think about it they're already taken. Would the Power of Howl be mainly about wolves? If so, then it would fit in with the Power of Claw.

I just wanted to say that I agree with you. :)

Fit in with the Power of Claw? I'm not sure what you mean...

If you think that's bad, try walking. I've been trying to catch up with your train all day.

Out of charecter-Have you read Maximum Ride?

No... What's it about?

It reminds me a lot of B.I.G. Experimenting all over the place (Only their experiments usually don't have such drastic results... right? I'm new to Kyngdom). ANYWAY, Maximum Ride is a good book, about a 'flock' of children who are 2 (or 4-- I can't remember) percent bird. They were an experiment, but one of the scientists helped them get out. They have powers that develop as the series goes on, but it gets sort of stranger throughout the series (the first few books are awesome), and they're by James Patterson. Also throughout the book they are getting attacked, because these evil scientists (the ones who experimented on them), are sending more evil experiments after them, these who are part wolves. I can't remember--oh, Erasers.

I'm not planning to read them again, but, as I said, the first few are really good.
