POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

This thread's purpose is to contain theories and stories about how the Powers came about and what they could be- besides the Powers of Wing and Claw. I'll post my stories as soon as I come up with them.

Admin: After a week or two, we will create a poll so everyone can vote on which origin story they like best! We might even combine more than one story.

Can you guess what the flower bud turns into? (Wink, wink)

Part Two

The flower bud bloomed, its petals bright and gold. It shimmered like all the magic in the world had been compressed into a single flower. Its radiance illuminated the body of the unicorn, which was fading away. Harps were audible as the mare's spirit prized herself away from her body and cantered away through the trees and up into the stars. The silver blood staining the grass disappeared along with the mare's body, leaving the grass sparkling.

The flower glowed intensely, and the fireflies wove about it, examining it. The flower still grew, flourishing in its clearing and stretching up to the night sky above. The animals of the forest gathered around, hanging back at the edges of the clearing as if afraid to approach the flower. A doe and her fawn watched with eyes wide as the flower's stem escalated still higher, then stopped. The blossom's auric petals spread wide as a beam of moonlight cast across it, highlighting it. Caught in the pale light, the flower shone with all the radiance of a thousand suns. Anyone watching it and the brightness flooding from it would know, deep down, that this was the creation of Power.

~★~

As dawn arrived, the flower dimmed a little. Some of the glow had left its petals, but they still shone strong. Just as the Moon sank out of sight, one of the petals detached itself from the blossom and dropped. Spiraling gently, the gold petal meandered its way down to the forest floor, kind of like a feather drifting on a breeze. It seemed to take a long time to fall, almost as if the flower didn't want to let its petal go.

But the petal did land eventually. It landed with the sound of hooves beating, like the unicorn mare's had in what seemed so long ago. And at that moment, a transformation occurred. The golden petal had begun to change. It twisted slowly into another shape, and gold swirled from it as it metamorphosed. The hoofbeats resounded through the clearing as countless unicorns' spirits galloped from the sky to watch the flower petal change. The petal, completely unaware of all the eyes watching it, kept reshaping itself. It knew what it wanted to be, what it had to be. It had to be the Power of Hoof.

The petal wasn't a petal anymore. It was a conga drum. The drum was small; about three inches tall. It had a golden shell and a cord connected to it, almost like a necklace. Its bottom and head were silver. The unicorn mare's spirit leaped into the drum, completing the Power.

~★~

The forest where all this happened became known as the Hoofbeat Forest. The Power of Hoof waits there still, untouched by human hands. When it's played, and that will happen someday, the mare's spirit will spring from it, alive and whole. But that time won't come for a long while yet.

~★~

There. All done. I hope you liked it! Also, I drew the golden flower as I think it looks. Lucy/Xiaolong, you might think differently, but the picture below is my imagination. And as for giving you credit for the idea, if I put this story into a book the dedication would be to Mei-Xue, the golden flower. Haha, not really. I don't know how I'd give you credit yet.

Oh! Actually, the Flower was in my picture of the mermaid, but I think that yours is better, so we'll use that one.

In the picture, your flower was pink, but in your description, it was gold and I liked gold better so that's what I used in my story. And thanks!

It's finished. And each CBer can only write one story so I'm done with Power Origins for now. Unless we do a vote:

How many want me to write the origin of another Power....

And how many don't?

I'm not really interested, sorry. It seems like Claire H is though, maybe you should write it together. Maybe I'll write the Power of Fin.

Okay so this is what I have so far, I've combined a few of your ideas into one, but I still think that the powers should all come from the same place, they are all siblings... But I've put together this. Please please please tell me if you like it or don't!

A long time ago, there was a flaming hot planet, filled with active volcanos. Its rivers were filled with molten hot liquid, and no life could thrive.

Until...

out of one volcanic explosion, there was a flower born, a magical flower made from fire and light. This flower glowed with the intensity of a thousand suns, and the life of a thousand planets. And as it grew, the world around it started to change. The volcanos quickly vanished, along with its blood-thirsty lava. In its place once burnt, tough soil begain to soften, and other life begain to thrive. Grass and small plants sprouted up around the flower, soon to spread across the world. A small stream of water had also started running from the flowers stem, soon to becom an ocean. But as the plant life thrived, the plant was losing the power it got from the volcanos. In its last dieing breath, six creatures were born. The first to walk on land. In a flash of light, the petals were gone, and the stem crumbled on defeat. But the world wasn't about to go back into its old state. For a new magic was formed. First out of the petals a small catlike bird creature was formed, just a kitten. Griffan, it was soon to be called. She controlled the air, she kept it clean and lively. Created the storms, wind, and clouds. Next a small, long creature (or whatever you want to power of claw to be, I'm just going to call it a serpent for now) was uncoiled onto the grass. It had two tiny talons like front legs, with dull claws that were soon going to be sharp dagger-like swords. This creature was soon going to be called Serpent (or whatever you want the power of claw to be, I'm just going to call it serpent for now). She (he?) was soon to control the earth, keeping it a healthy softness for all plants alike to grow. Next a small furry creature was formed, with tiny claws and useless (for now) little bird wings like the Griffans. She was soon to be called Angle Wolf. She would control the hushed peaceful sound of the new land, the sweet smell, the beautiful looks of the world, and the soft feel to everything. Next a tiny, small furred mammal with tiny hooved feet and a small glowing horn staggered onto the earth. She was soon to be called Unicorn. She would control the growth of the flowers, and the difference of night and day. After her a sleek long creature was born, with a long glistening tail and small talons, with a tiny flipper here and there. He was soon to be called Sea Dragon. He would control the freshness of the water, the pure waterfalls, and the difference between salt and fresh. Lastly, a small dark shape was formed. With tiny wings and black scales that seemed to radiate black fire, and glowing eyes the color of the moon. She was soon to be called Dragon. She would control all fire, including the darkness and greed that powers many animals to do great, bad things.

These animals grew over time, and the environment was slowly made better. Many animals were created to walk the lands, of sky, land, sea, bright, fiery, and sence full. After awhile, the humans evolved. With the humans, came technology, Medicine, robots, electricity, everything that went against the Powers, as they soon called themselves. They tried telling the humans, but they only cared of their own greed. They blamed this on the fire inside them, on Dragon. She was exiled from the Powers for awhile, but her power still remaind, and the humans still grew stronger. Finally, Dragon went to the others, telling them of how they needed to get rid of the humans, they needed to extinct them. With no other choice, the Powers agreed. With this a war started between Powers and humans. Many were killed. But many survived. The population was growing ever faster. And as the fire grew inside the humans, it grew inside the Powers as well. The Powers came so ambushing for all, well power, that they started killing everything, even animals and plants. Soon the animals sided with the humans, and together, one by one, they killed the Powers. And as each died, their power lived on in an instrument for all moving creatures to play. (This is where the unicorn story fits in, when the unicorn was killed, and where your other power stories go. Someone can do Claaws if there aren't enough to go around.) They may have been killed before, but the power is still alive, able to breathe the breath of life into the long dead creature anytime when played. But as the creatures rest, their power is still strong, especially Dragon's whose power is flaming inside some certain scientists. After the war, and after all powers were long dead, the humans and animals agreed to keep the Powers dead. They appointed an animal, one of which the powers could turn into, to guard the power forever, as they hoped. But promises don't last forever, and the creatures in charge, humans, forgot who their alies were. And, killing animals on their way, have managed to find one of the powers, and summon the giant beast inside.

As for the other stories, in the middle of the war, the Powers needed spies. Since they were so big and obvious, they wouldn't work as any spy. So combining all their powers they managed to give each power an animal form. The griffan became a crow, the serpent a badger, the angle wolf a, well regular wolf, the unicorn a white steed, the sea dragon a monitor lizard, and the dragon, a Panther as black as night. With these came code names, which you all know the panther is Claaws. The others you guys/girls can come up with. Hope you like! Please tell me what you think!!!

I love the idea, Claaws! I will write my version of the Power of Howls story (  where you say the unicorn story came in ) and this would also explain the rampageing Gryphon. He's angry at humans. Claire H and I have a thread for us to talk about the origin of the power of howl, and anyone else who wants to. I will mention this to her.

Hey, Claaws, you copied my phrase, "the flower glowed with all the...... Of a thousand suns." You can come up with your own description. But yet I like to think that I imprinted on you.

Okay, I'm hereby copyrighting my Power of Hoof story. Power of Hoof © 2016 by Scylla's Stories. There.
