Audition: Okay, so

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Audition: Okay, so

Audition: Okay, so remember when I went to that audition in November (wow that was a long time ago!) and didn't make it? Well, there's this drama production that I signed up to be in for enrichment classes (So it's all homeschoolers and you're guaranteed a role), and it's Pinnochio. Ironically, the only other play I've ever been in was Pinnochio, but oh, well. :P

So we had auditions last Tuesday, and I was one of three people out of 27 who wanted to be the Blue Fairy. We were asked to list the top three roles of our choice, and the Blue Fairy was first on mine and last on the other two girls'. I was asked to read different Blue Fairy parts 4 times, each of the other girls once. It seemed pretty obvious that I was going to be the Blue Fairy to all of my friends and me, and then the director announces that my BEST FRIEND gets the role, and I am one of the townspeople! (Half the lines, one third the scenes.) I mean, ARGH! But oh, well, at least I'm in the play.

I just don't get what I'm doing wrong...

Hey, don't give up!  I know how frustrating it is when you don't get a part you really want, but you'll still have lots of other opportunities in the future.  The directors obviously felt that your friend was best suited for the part, whether she read her lines well, or just looked right, but clearly it was a close tie between you and her and you still get to be a part of the production!!!  Have fun and try not to let your disappointment ruin the rest of the play for you...good luck!

Don't worry about it. Your chance will come; just keep at it. Congratulations for being in the play!

Last summer I was in an acting camp and I got a character who leaves less than halfway into the play. My sister got the leading role. So yeah, I know what that's like.

Hey, I bet you did great!  I mean, come on, the only play that I've been in was Get Hopping, a play about a bunny who didn't want to hop, that I did in kindergarten. :) I hope you do well! :D

That must have been really frustrating! You should ask the director/teacher why you didn't get the role so you know what she/he didn't like, or what you could improve on.

I was thinking about asking her something like, "What did you see in me when I was auditioning that told you I should be Angelina?"

I don't really mind being Townsperson Angelina, I just really wanted to be the Blue Fairy. (Really badly... :)

I have been in only one play, and that was the first time I had auditioned, but I did kind of know the director, a little bit, when I was in a 2 week drama camp (it was when I was 8 and it was only like maybe 4 to 5 hours a day).  The play was called seussical, and it was about a bunch of seuss characters combined, like Horton hears a who, yurtle the turtle, Gertrude mCfuzz, and other stuff like that.  I was really nervous I had a lot of butterfly's in my stomach.  there where a few people that I didn't really like.  And one of those people auditioned for the play that I auditioned for, and I think she was in it, and I wasn't, I think that I wasn't in the play because I had kind of messed up on the song I was singing. I kinda know how ya feel

don't give up! it is likely that you will make it into some other important part if you try hard enough. one time i got the smallest part in the whole play, but a few months later i got the leading role in Cinderella! Laughing

Okay, guys, HUGE news! This other girl, who was playing the lead female puppet, had to bow out (Waah! :( Sniff, sniff...), and so we had an audition between a couple of girls, and I got it! So now, I am Angelina AND Columbine, and have more scenes than the Blue Fairy!

Oh, want to hear the first line in the whole play (Angelina's!)? "Read a book today! Fine Books for sale!"

I forgot to mention that I'm going to see the play I auditioned for and didn't get into this afternoon! (A couple of people I know are in it.)

I know, but "...I now have more scenes than the Blue Fairy"? I think I was feeling a bit...I'm not sure.

(Oh, this was a while ago, in case you hadn't seen that. :)

You didn't seem conceited! I always look back on my old posts which were smothered with exclamation points and smileys and am embarrassed by them.*headesk*What was I thinking? But anyways, how did the play go?
