Was anyone else

Was anyone else as exicted as I was at seeing Yo-yo Ma play at the inaguration?

If you heard him playing, it was probably a recording. The musicians recorded themselves playing earlier, then played the recording at the inauguration. I still wish McCain and Palin won.

I know. My step-sister and step-brother-in-law work for Obama.

I liked seeing him play! Maddy, you didn't watch, but it was not a recording, I'm pretty sure.

Actually it was a recording. They were playing live, but what you heard was a recording. That was what was amplified.  I didn't watch the inauguration but I saw the recorded story on the news the next day. Just google "inauguration music recorded" and there will be a lot of news sites with the story.

Actually, you're both right!!!  It was pre-recorded so that everyone could hear it.  He was still playing, but you could only hear him if you were in the first couple rows right in front of him.  It was still really cool, though!!!!  What was even more amazing, was that I just saw him in concert at Royce Hall at UCLA...He did a solo appearance with the LA Chamber Orchestra.  It was awesome!!! Whether it was a recording or not, the music was absolutely amazing. :)

I read that it was so cold that the instruments would have gone out of tune easily, so they recorded inside, and that recording was broadcasted over the big screens, and only the people sitting up in the box could hear the real thing.
