Pointe!!!!!!! Does any

Pointe!!!!!!! Does any one else do ballet, tape, jazz, modern? I love it all! This winter, however, I am starting to dance on pointe and I am kinda nervous! Does any one out there have any advise that can help a beginner?? Any other beginners?

I used to be in clogging, tap, and ballet, but then we moved and I haven't been in dance since.:( But, just before we moved, I found out that I had been going to go on point in less then a year, so I guess you could say I'm a beginner.:) I was pretty nervous, but some of the girls in my class had big sisters that were in point, and they could walk around in their sister's point shoes pretty easily.:)

I did ballet when I was three and eventually quit at seven or eight. I guess I'm more a get-muddy-rough-and-tumble-sports kinda person, and that's what led to my eventual frustration with ballet. It's a really beautiful sport/dance though, and I like watching it. :)

Hi,   I do Ballet once a week.  I did do Pointe for a while but it was really hard finding the right size shoe.  I just use regular Ballet shoes now,  and it seems much more comfortable to me.

I'm going on pointe this winter too!!! I take three ballet classes, a tap class, a jazz class, and two modern classes. I'm a little nervous 'cause I'm going on pointe a little early. I'm only 11!!

Did you dancers enjoy "Born to Dance" in the November issue? Deborah Dawn called us after the story was published to say how much it meant to her to be in Cricket. She said she got all teary when she saw the scene from The Nutcracker on the cover. I got all teary, too, just reading about life on the stage. Ah, we performers are soooo emotional...

Love and keep on your toes (for those who have toes),

I have 4 classes a week and am in an upcoming show. I'm one of the few girls who is in it that are not in the company.

I started on pointe last year. Your feet will hurt at first, but you'll be fine. Good Luck!

I can't wait to start pointe! I've been dancing for eight consecutive years!!!! I might be able to take pointe next year, but our dance mistress has a strict rule that you have to be at least 13 to take it. And then only if you're strong enough!
