It's night. You'r

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

It's night. You'r

It's night. You're sitting in your bed, staring out the window, searching for something lost. But you can't remember what it is, or was. All you know is that it's out there...it's important...and it was once yours.

Perhaps you never used it, perhaps you did--once, maybe twice. Or more. But for some strange reason, you can't remember if you did or didn't. Or what effect it had on you. Or...where it is now.

As you awoke from a particularly bland and boring dream, the memory that you were missing this...thing slid into your head. As you sat in a haze between asleep and awake, you stared outside, scouring the landscape that, for one fleeting moment, was no longer the familiar world you saw every day.

So here you are, staring outside, searching.

And then you finish waking up.

And here you are, trying to remember what you were just doing.

Hm, you think, smacking your dry lips. The covers rustle as you reach for your water glass, which sits by your lamp on your nightstand like it does every night. That's really wierd...I can't remember my dream. It seemed important--almost real. Your hand meets cold glass and you close your fingers around it. You bring it to your lips for a satisfying sip, but you realize that it's empty.

"Darn," you whisper. You'll have to get out of bed to fill it up--but it's really cold, and you don't have socks on.

Eh, it's no big deal. You'll fill it up.

Throwing the covers to the side, you haul yourself out of bed. With every footstep towards the kitchen all memory of strange dreams and searches leaves you, and by the time you return to your comfy nest of blankets with your full cup of water, the night seems almost normal. That is, until you glance outside the window.

Something moves across the front of the moon, which is full and shines right through the middle of your window, lighting up your comforter. What could it have been? It seemed familiar...And perhaps it's the fact that you're still half asleep, half awake that you can sense it, but a powerful force beats from it. Calling you. Presenting opportunities that you absolutely cannot miss.

Without any hesitation you get back out of bed, but before you can even leave your bedroom you notice a puddle of water near your nightstand.

So that's where all my water went, you realize. I must've knocked it over. Upon closer inspection you realize that there's writing on the carpet, glowing faintly yellow from under the patch of wetness.

The writing is so interesting you don't even realize how strange it is that the puddle isn't soaking into the carpet, or wonder how the words got there. In fact, the words don't even seem scary to you, despite their suspicious nature.

~Your Soon-to-be Chaperones,

Cassy and Lily of Lake Lelillo

How you read all that small print was beyond you. Will you go? It certainly seems relaxing enough. The choice is yours to make.

-------------------------

I'll tell you all when the spots are closed, so join while you still can!

Please note that this is my second ski lodge, and it's kind of linked to my first. In a sense, it's the next part. I don't know if I should call it a part two, or what, but some things might reference the first ski lodge. Don't worry--I'm not going to make things super confusing. I'll explain things as I go--and I really need new CBers to join in. But I also need some CBers from my previous ski lodge to come. ('Course, they don't have to join if they don't want to; I'll understand.)

Here's another clue (if you didn't catch the others...) for the CBers who were in my first ski lodge, or read it, and wanted to be in this one:

What do you get when you cross a scorpion and a sloth?

Hehe, my alias isn't going to last the day. :D

Whoa intense!

And nooooo, they're losing all their assets! Icy, then Icy's journal.....and Brooklyn's wand! That one is really bad.

And all the mystery is so suspenseful.....is Cassy really involved? And how?

I was going to post my ultimate theory, but....ah well, I'll still do it! And, later, I'll comb through the thread to discover who uses >:) and other :)s.

AND WHY WOULD THE MURDERER GET RID OF THE WAND?! WAS IT BECAUSE IT WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE!? OR DID THEY HAVE A BETTER WEAPON!?

Icy's complex theory (I wrote this before I read the post saying I died....and I can't let such....in depth writing go to waste!)

This complex theory includes:

*NOTES ON EACH OF THE DEAD

*NOTES ON THE WEAPONS

*NOTES ON BASICALLY EVERYTHING

1. notes with very little context

Upon reading the first post, I have a few questions to ponder....naw, my name isn't Sherlock. I'll write normally.

My first thought is "Who was Tom Noodle, and how did he die?" But we have no context clues so far. Perhaps these murders have something to do with the ownership of this large vacation home. After all, so-called 'Yandere' Girls killed for their 'Senpais'...why couldn't a Psychopath kill for a vacation home?

From looking, Cassy and Lily have added 'unnecessary furniture'. Unnecessary as in...? Could they be death traps? The trampolines certainly were. Do trampolines count as furniture?

2. Room list

In the Lavender DeRoma room was (all dead are marked with a D) Owlgirl, Grace, Rosalyn (D), Kate the Great, Hotairballoon, Cortana(D), Moonfrost, Joan B. of Arc, Echosong, and Holly.

In the James B. Nelly room was Cinderpelt, Booksy Owly, Luna, Elvina, Legolas, Pepper Star, myself, Sapphire(D), Gem, and Spyro(D). (Why does this room have so many casualties? What's up with this? Is it a pattern?)

In the Tabitha Tucker room, we have--September, Brooklyn Newsie, Tina the Thunderbird, Leafpool(D), Bookbuggy,, Autumn Leaves, Jayfeather, Cinderheart, Sir Galahad, and Wordsy.

The Johnny Johnson room has Saphira, Ice Wolf, Nico De Furr, Chester, Ember, Briar, Shadow, LilyCat, Poetic Panda, Dragonrider, Ariel, and Turgon (D).

If you look at the Rooms passage, you notice there is a bunch of maps. So the Murderer might not be well acquainted with the area--the Murderer might not NEED to be. Also, the Murderer could be using the Servant-Passages (Cassy wasn't convinced. "I wonder if they found the servant passages? 'Cause it really sounds like someone's in the--" Suddenly, the broom closet door opened with a bang, and the CBers filed out. "We're here! Spyro announced loudly. "Oh! Well, there you go." Lily said, very much surprised. "Which one of you found the servant passages?" "Puck." Chester answered...)

5. Cassy and Lily

The two have been a little suspicious this entire time. Coincidentally, "So, what do you think of Lily and Cassy? They remind me of Alter Egoes." -Poetic Panda.

That gives Lily and Cassy a good reason to NOT be behind the AE slaughter.

And, also, they know about the servant passages. Just pointing that out.

When Sapphire died, Cassy seemed extremely concerned--but not for Sapphire. ("I ALWAYS KNEW I WAS A BAD COOK!" she wailed.) They seem to not show very much sympathy or care about the murders.

"News flash--or chaperones aren't the sharpest lights in the room," --Spryo

We also get a mention of young men talking and laughing like other chaperones.

4. Forethought

A little quote--

"Awww," September cooed. There was a baby turtle knocking against the plastic. A bass swam over and gulped it down. "Um. Nevermind." "That's life in the lake for you," Elvina said. "Poor turtle, though," Sympathized Ember.

Could this be foreshadowing of our fate?

5. the deceased

Spyro was meant to be the first killed, but on accident Sapphire was slain instead.

What behavior did Spyro exhibit that might make HIM a target? Who was he seen conversing with who might want to kill him?

The first instance of Spryo exhibiting behavior was when Spyro was talking about different ways to trash

The first recorded conversation is Spyro and Turgon.

SPYRO: Turgon?

TURGON: * looks up * Yeah?

SPYRO: I, uh, nevermind. Good to see you, buddy!

TURGON: * slaps Spyro on back * You too!

SPYRO: I didn't expect you to be here!

TURGON: * wistful smile * Me either. But Dragonrider showed up and told me we were going on vacation! I was like, 'already?' and she was like 'yep' so here I am.

The conversation desends into talking of who had been in the Farmer's farm. Not very interesting. But what could the 'I, uh, nevermind' be like? Could it be Spyro guessing that this was another death trap, orchestrated by a murderer?

Later, this is the passage in which Sapphire died--

Sapphire suddenly started to cough. She was halfway through her fish already. "Um, are you okay?" BookBuggy asked her AE. "Ah-hemmy-hem-hem," She hacked. "I think I ate my fish too fast." But that was not the problem. She drank some water and felt a little better, but a few moments later her throat was siezed with a mighty tingling. "Itch-in-throat--" She gasped, clawing at her neck.

September preformed the heimlich maneuver, but that only made it worse. "It burns!" She shrieked, collapsing from her chair, her chest heaving for air that offered her little relief. "What do we do?!" Shrieked the CBers. Lily and Cassy came rushing in.

It also mentions 'But none of them had any clue what to do, and by then, it was too late. Sapphire's lungs refused to draw air.

The second death was LEAFPOOL, and that's who we will review next.

We see Rosalyn searching for Leafy's lip balm, and later Leafy sorts out her things to be discovered by the Murderer. By the conversation, she DEFINITELY knows the murderer, and is not suprised to see eachother. (see my notes on who the Murderer is in 6.)

Back to Spyro. He mentions that the chaperones "aren't the sharpest lights in the room", but this was AFTER Sapphire had died, so we can (sorta) rule out the chaperones.

Spyro's death is so beautifully sad. I'm putting it here--

"The ghost pepper-and-acid salmon was meant for you, Spyro." whispered a cold, deadly voice. Spyro's eyes would've widened if they weren't being held shut. "MMMM!" he wailed. "MM MMM MMM MMMMMMM!" "Yes, it was delicious," the murderer whispered, it's face inches from Spyro's ear. "Unfortunately, the plates were mixed up. Sorry about that." Spyro shook with fear and anger. Suddenly, his blindfold was removed. "Mmmm," He hissed quietly, glaring into the eyes of his soon-to-be killer. "Mmm mmee mmmmk." The murderer smiled, a tortured and contorted expression that chilled Spyro to the bones. "I have to eliminate you, Spyro." [Why would someone NEED to eliminate Spyro? Unless it was someone who remembered previous Ski Lodges eliminating Spyro because Spyro could REMEMBER the previous ski lodges (see his conversation with Turgon)?] Spyro wanted to look anywhere but the crazed eyes of the murderer; unfortunately, the grey back of the tapestry didn't offer much better scenery. All he could think about was that he was about to die behind it. "Some murderers use other things to do their bidding--animals, for example. I suppose it's good for anonymity." Spyro's heart sped up. The idle chatter always came before the death. The murderer snatched Spyro's earpiece off his ear and crushed it in his hands. It emitted a dull whine, sparked once, and died, spitting a small strand of smoke into the air. "I don't know, though. It seems cowardly. Using animals, I mean." Spyro glanced around, uncertain as to whether or not he should agree. "I'm no coward." Spyro felt the coolness of the sword blade against his neck all the more clearly. "Joan won't know it's missing" [So it's not Joan] "until it's too late. I snatched it while we were playing our...game...this afternoon." [why the emphasis on game?] Spyro closed his eyes, taking calming breaths, hoping the murderer would remove his gag and allow him a few last words. "Spyro, cheer up! Times are dark, my friend. You don't know what I'm talking about, naturally, but you will, one day. And no, before you get your hopes up, I'm not using your ghost." The murderer, in one swift, fluid motion, took the sword off of Spyro's neck and plunged it into his heart. The AE slumped to the ground, his arms and legs still bound, all the life gone in an instant.

Wow. Why was Spyro a key figure? Nothing in the context tells us this.

6. Guessing the murderer

Our first notice of a murderer is the AEs asking about where Ariel and Saphira were. However, the two were probably just sneaking off together because they have a love status.

When Leafy dies, we get the fact that the killer is a CBer. We also get the fact that she KNOWS (err, knew) the murderer. We're assuming that they're from her room, because she wasn't very suprised to see the person. That leaves September, Brooklyn Newsie (a prime suspect, but the murderer seemed to have not used it before), Tina the Thunderbird, BookBuggy, Autumn Leaves, Jayfeather, Cinderheart, Sir Galahad, and Wordsy. However, Brooklyn Newsie left the room to 'go to the bathroom'...

In one of the days, they mentioned Grace 'looking bored' on a crazy fantastic ride. Strange for an AE--could she be behind the slaughter? Or was she such an AE she needed it to be more intense?

The 'CAPTURE THE CHATTERBOXER' game could be a good excuse for a murderer to get away.

The murderer must be a CBer--they could be very competetive and on the CBer team against AEs and CAPTCHAs. But  no CAPTCHAs have been killed.

Random thought: Why does HaB keep on saying we should leave the Ski Lodge? Other than the obvious?

7. Forgetting

Something strange has happened, a spell over us. To make us forget past Ski Lodges. This has been happening all along--

"Leafpool dear, this is a Ski Lodge! Or have you forgotten?" [emphasis on forgotten in italics] Leafpool frowned. "Um...forgotten what?" The murderer adopted a thoughtful expression. "So it's true." A smile spread across it's face.

And later, Lily asks if murders happen to us often. And HaB says it happens quite often.

Dear CBers,

Unfortunately I cannot commentate on the eggs and the teams, but know this.

The team with the person who matches every description of the murderer here (knows Leafpool, etc) will be the murderer, according to my calculations. One who matches all the variables.

Audieu,

Icy

Woah that's a lot of info Icy. I admire how you were able to collect so much so quickly. You'd make a good detective. Speaking of detective, I've been studying a collage course on Murder and Mystery (yes that's a hobby of mine, don't judge me) and I've recently acquired information about the basic villan. They almost always leave some kind of signature, some more obvious than others. Obviously, everyone knows that, all murderers have to leave some kind of trace, but most of the time they don't take into account that all the murders have to have something in common. The murderer used tools that weren't his/her own. The only time where there was a possibility that the murderer weapon actually was the murderer's was in Spyro's death. Which, was a sword. More than likely, that murderer would not just find a sword lying around, but acid and ghost peppers can easily be bought or found somewhere. For instance, strong acids are used to keep pools from getting moldy. So the murderer could have easily gotten some from the supply closet in the water park/slide area. The thing is, the murderer could not have just picked up the sword somewhere, so they must have it in their packing list. Now, I'm sorry Autumn Leaves, but that backpack you borrowed from me has a weapons room for sure. And I know it has swords in it. Plus, I know you like your blades. Let me just point out that someone died of lightsaber wounds, and Autumn Leaves has two lightsabers, she also has a "pocket sun" which can release light (like the while light that spelled out "Sorry Icy >:D" and also, sun's burn paper. Sooo.) I was looking through and the only other people I found with any other evidence of blades were Poetic Panda and Ember. Oh wait. And. *Sigh* me. I brought my dagger and I always have my infinite space backpack with me so I guess I'm up for the trial too. Let me also say that blue and white are my two main colors, with white being one of my favorites. And Micearenice specifically said that the light that spelled out Sorry Icy was indeed white, and colors are significantly important in any story. Another thing that doesn't help me is that my name hasn't been mentioned very often, but I clearly haven't been killed yet so that wouldn't bring much attention to me, which is what a murderer wants. Also, I have evidence that goes against all the suspects, including me. A murderer will always try to cover their tracks as best they can, and the best way to do that is to bring the attention some where else, and that would mean that the rooms with less murders would seem like the murderer wouldn't be in there because it would be harder for them to travel between rooms undetected. That means the rooms Autumn Leaves, Ember and Poetic Panda are in would be a great hiding place for a murderer, with only one or two murders in each room. I'm not sure how well Poetic Panda and Autumn Leaves know Leafpool, but I know I don't know her very well, so that lessens the chances of the murderer being me. But Ember, Autumn and Panda are still suspects.

Now, I don't know how accurate this information is that I have given, but it sure seems reasonable. There are probably a lot of details I missed, but I tried so... Yeah.

Dangit, I'm a suspect! Just like every mafia game I've ever played... Lol. Technically, it would be kinda hard to kill someone with a Swis army knife (just my opinion) but not impossible. I realize how I'm not helping my case here... Also, if I am the murderer, I sincerely apologize. *cracks a grin* CRUD IN BECOMING JOKER! (Yes, I'm weird. Oh well!) ok, I'm gonna leave now...

submitted by Nighthawk/Ember
(March 7, 2017 - 10:51 pm)

I know. But the murderer basically slit Spyro's throat, and that is a pretty easy to do with any blade.

Also, I wasn't really focusing on the kind of weapon, but the experience with blades. If someone can work an army knife, they most definatly can figure out how to work a sword if they need to. I forgot to take into account that the murderer could pick up a sword off of another camper's bags, but they still need to know how to work them, that's why I also included people with lightsabers. They could easily pick up another person's sword and use it.

It's ok. i made myself a suspect in my theory. XD

Pepper Star coughed quietly. "Ouch, my throat really hurts. Does anyone have a Ricola or something?"
