Music!  I know

Music!  I know that we already have a section on musical geniuses and classical, but I thought that we need a section on just plain old good music.  Who are your favorite bands and/or musicians.  As you may have noticed in the musical geniuses section that Bob Marley is my favorite musician and you probably don't know  (unless you're stalking me!!!) that my favorite band is Switchfoot.  Has anybuggy heard of them?  My favorite songs are "The Beautiful Let Down", "Stars" and more.

Paige,

I have to say that I have never heard of Switchfoot before, but now that you told me, I will have to check it out! I really like the bands Jump5 and GoFish. Jump5's earlier music is definitely way better than their newer stuff.

I have to say that I've never heard of them either, but I'll check them out, too!  Are you new to this site?  I'm not trying to be a stalker or anything, but I never noticed your name. (I like you name!!) :):)

Yes, I'm fairly new to this site. I had checked several times if it was up yet at the beginning of the summer, and it never was. Then I guess I just forgot about it for a while, but a couple of days ago I suddenly thought, Hey! I bet the new Cricket site is up now! And it was, so here I am. Thanks--I like your name too! :)

Well, so, here I am, on Dad's OOOOLLLLDDDD Mac (read: OS 10.3.9)
on IE, no less (because Safari was being nasty about opening comment boxes), and then it turns out that IE also has problems with comment boxes, so I'm typing this VERTICALLY. Stupid Tiger...
Anyway, I couldn't wait to get home to post on this luuuurvelly new thread (don't you feel special now?)
Hem. Anyway... Switchfoot= eh... better than country, but not THAT much. My favorite bands include (but are not limited to)
Evanescence, Within Temptation, AFI, Housemartins, and I'm starting to get into Cinema Bizarre.
Oh, yeah, *newcomer pies to Byrnne, even though this is the wrong site*
(note: newcomer pies are a good thing. ;D)

You think that an OS 10.3.9 is old?  I have an ancient Mac somewhere in the basement that I used to use that is way older than that.  (runs down the stairs and into the storage room) The computers are in there, but no boxes, so I don't know the exact number...  I think mine was a 3.9 and my brother's a 4.0; we have an even older one hidden away somewhere.  I don't know if it even has color! :)

Yes, 10.3.9 is old, technologically speaking. Same way 4 billion years is an astronomical eyeblink. Moore's law, remember?

@.@ 3.9??? *gaspgasp* that was like, back in the early CRT-era. The oldest comp we have is like 9.4 or something, or at least it was before it suffered a head crash (which is hardly surprising; it's been through like two house changes, plus a dusty old storage room).

Heck, even 9 was in the CRT-era... *mind is boggled*

Specs? *bambi eyes* please please? ...*whispers*pwease?*/whispers* especially RAM and speed and such. :) *looks hopeful* If you can remember that is...

Okay, first off I'll tell you that I don't really know anything about computers (unless it has to do with making movies!  I'm a complete geek about that!).  So, sorry if I sound really stupid, but what does specs mean?  I haven't used it in a while, either, so I don't remember exactly what a RAM is either.  I was little, so I thought it was a really useless folder...  THe only thing I did on it was draw in AppleWorks...It's been locked away in a box for a few years.......

Oh, specs (short for specifications), you know, RAM (Random Access Memory), storage space, speed, processor, O.S, etc, etc.

As in, the computer I am typing this on has a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X, an L2 Cache of 4 MB, 2 GB or RAM...

I'd understand completely if you didn't remember, even if you were a technophilic like me :)

Oh yeah, that stuff.  Normally I would know, but it's been in a box for over a year, so I sort of forgot...  I already said the OS number, storage: really small!, speed: extremely slow, but faster than the computer that I'm currently using.

Did I hear someone say they didn't like country?(*gasp*) That sould be a crime!!!!! Unless you mean the really old stuff like Willey Nelson. Anyway, I really like Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts. I like some of Alabama's songs, too.
