Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Regular poetry thread

Regular poetry thread (because I'm tired of not editing my poems)

This is exactly what it sounds like! A thread to post poetry. I'm excited to read all of your work!

Regret

Sometimes

I feel guilty that I am so fortunate

When so many other girls my age

Might not have half the money

That I own.

It is human nature

To always want more.

To be jealous of the people above you

And never consider

The ones below.

I try to be thankful for

How lucky I truly am.

But sometimes,

When I’m down,

It’s hard to tell myself that I’m lucky,

When I feel so unlucky.

That’s what I regret.

To bring about revenge:

~~~~~
Once upon a time,
many years ago,
a long time since
times of yonder;
Where black and white
blend together, indistiguishable;
The world enshrouded,
Consumed by dreary haze.
Alone, pained and wieghed in sorrow,
Bitter, hatred, numb;
An indiscriminate wheel
that can never be broken.
little things
i held a handstand, flipped over into grass,
pulled on my old hoodie and felt alright,
caught a moment of the sunset, wreathed in dusk light,
starlight, i drank a latte in a coffee shop,
let my hair blow in the wind,
laid in bed until ten, once again
i wore a green tea mask,
swished my hand through lakewater
spent hours reading novels and drank
hot chocolate, shoveled snow and felt strong,
the radio played my favorite song,
sunbathed with my sister,
looked at myself in the mirror
and gave myself a smile
I wrote this yesterday while practicing guitar because I got the idea to do a very loose, casual poem--kind of in a conversational sort of tone? As if I was just talking to you. I'm also trying to edit another poem right now but it's much longer and I don't often edit my poems, even though I should. But I'll probably share that at some point lol.
Does anybody even check this thread anymore though?
-
my spotify playlist
so i was putting together a music playlist
and i wanted to do something like
sunshine vibes you know,
but like
picking flowers in the sunshine
yellow flowers. daisies?
sun beating down on you
but in a gentle way cause
we want this to be aesthetic.
and you're wearing a dress,
like a flowy cotton sundress
and--
by yourself i guess.
something like
you're lovesick
heartsick, actually
but you're picking flowers
yellow flowers.
picking yellow flowers in the sunshine
Your poems are really good, Leafy! I haven't tried to write poetry  in a while but maybe I will. I definitely know what kind of aesthetic you're talking about in the poem!
girls and boys and girls and girls
11:00 at night and i'm lying awake
staring through my open window at the neighbor's tree.
in between the shadowed leaves and filtered streetlights,
a spiteful demon face is formed.
it leers, mouth wide open, teeth bared,
and says, you might not be
who you want to be.
i squirm and roll over, afraid of being different
and afraid of being anything at all.
This is a poem I wrote for a writing camp.
Memory
Have you ever had a memory
That stood out
And you’re not sure why?
Like a red x
on a sheet of paper
Scribbled with notes- of life.
Here’s one.
We went to a bookstore
Near the sea
The noise of life blocked out my thoughts
Of soft sunlight
And ancient trees
Grabbing my newfound treasure,
I ran.
Stepping carefully
Along the dirt path
Vines brush my legs so I admire the flowers
Still stepping carefully
Along the dock, now
I gaze down at a blue expanse
And dream of hidden powers
So real.
My journey is over
And flip -flops dangle
Above sun-speckled water, a soft sunset
Stunning, from this angle
The light is dim and  parents are waiting
But so are my stories
So I escaped.
