hello everyone!! I’ve

hello everyone!! I’ve been kinda sick of all my music lately— I still like it but I’ve just heard it too much. So I’d love some recommendations!

I like indie/alternative/soft pop kind of stuff. I’m not a fan of rock, metal, or rap. To give you a general idea of what I like, some of my favorite artists are Oh Wonder, Florence + The Machine, King Princess, Billie Eilish, Amber Run, and Cavetown.

what kind of music do you guys listen to? I always find it interesting to hear about that kind of thing, you can really tell a lot about a person that way.

Some of my favorite indie groups you might like to try are The xx, Regina Spektor, and Of Monsters and Men.

I love King Princess and Billie Eilish! Another band I really really love that you might like is called Kingsfoil. A lot of my friends who like Billie also like Khalid and I do too, I think his voice is amazing. I don't listen to Kehlani a lot but I like one of her songs 'Honey' which I think you might like too. Tow'rs is a folk-ish indie-ish band, I don't know how I'd describe them but I listen to them a lot. If you need song recommendations for these artist I can give you some.

Some other random song recommendations-

"Boyish"- Japanese Breakfast

"West Coast" and "Sweater Weather" by The Neighbourhood

"Fantasy" and "Floating"- Alina Baraz

"Depression and Obsession"-XXXTENTACION

"Tough Guy"- Cyberbully Mom Club

Lo-fi recommendations because I remember you listened to it-

"Old Roots, New Trees"- Made in M, Smuv

"i'm closing my eyes"-potsu

"Peninsula"- Flugland

"i've been missing you lately"- aimless, j'san

"waking up in the park"- j'san

*gasp* A fellow King Princess fan?! She's amazing and it's criminal that she only has one EP out.

Thank you so much for your recommendations! That stuff sounds right up my alley, I'll be sure to check it out! And I forgot to mention lo-fi in my original post, it's so nice and calming to draw to, thanks for remembering that I liked it!

@Admins WHAT YOU LIKE REGINA SPEKTOR AND OF MONSTERS AND MEN TOO THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!!

@Abigail You totally should take the Admins advice! Also, if you're into that sort of thing, check out Imagine Dragons :)

I suggest Owl City :). They're really good, and they write songs like Lucid Dream, Fireflies, and Silhoutte. Also, you may like the song Rise, by Jonas Blue.

(Admin, you're a Regina Spektor fan too? I love her!)

Besides Regina (who you should totally try if you haven't), I'd also recommend Zee Avi and Aurora (I've only listened to a few of her songs, but some of my friends are diehard fans)! You might like a few of The Head and The Heart's songs, especially from their first album. Melody Gardot is also really great, though she's more of a jazz singer.

Good luck with your music hunt!

Have you heard any of Aurora's songs? Over the Rainbow recently got me to listen and I fell in love. I think it's kind of indie pop-ish, though I honestly shouldn't even pretend I know what I'm talking about when it comes to music genres. I really like Florence + The Machine too!

Good to see you again, Abi! How are you?

Bluebird - Ahh you like Flughand and Japanese Breakfast too? Nice! The whole peaceful weibs album is really great, Moonloops is nice too. Have you heard "Everybody wants to love you"?

Abi - For lo-fi, you might also check out Mt. Marcy ("we are simply sums" and "you don't call anymore" are great), Gold Panda, Tomppabeats, and In Love With a Ghost. I'm not a huge fan of Cyberbully Mom Club but I can see the appeal. More like them - flatsound, dandelion hands (warning: depressing), Camp Cope (kinda) and Kimya Dawson.

I would recommend Ratatat, Miracle Musical, and Sonicbrat. The latter is pretty elusive because he's Singaporean and to my knowledge a lot of his stuff isn't readily available in the US. Fortunately it's on Spotify, though - I recommend Window Framed Clouds in particular, one of the best instrumental songs I've heard to date.

If you're into more experimental stuff, try múm. Green Grass of Tunnel is my favorite song of all time, and We Have a Map of the Piano, Blessed Brambles, They Made Frogs Smoke 'til They Exploded, and Awake on a Train are all great as well.

@HAB I haven't, but I'll have to check it out!

So, I'm terrible at identifying music genres, and I've only heard of one of those artists, but I guess Sylvan Esso, They Might Be Giants, in love with a ghost, and maybe Walk Off the Earth or Guy Klucevsek. For additional, individual songs, um...

City of Stars

King by Lauren Aquilina

Shiver by Lucy Rose

I Do Adore by Mindy Gledhill

Dear Boy by Avicii

And I honestly have no idea what else because I love rock and I don't know what it is. But I assume anime themes and Gorillaz wouldn't be up your alley.

I would recommend The National, a band my mom likes. I love their song Ada. I also really like the song Moshi Moshi by Poppy, and the the album Songs For Drella by Lou Reed and John Kail. Also Let X=X by Laurie Anderson. Ha, this is all stuff from my mom, except Moshi Moshi.

Nice to see you, Abi! I can pass on a list that Gared gave me. I've only listened to a few of the artists so far, so I can't promise that they'll fit your tastes, but I can try! Parcels is one to definitely try (they're one I'm listening to right now, actually). Stromae might come off as a little strong, but maybe. Then all the ones I haven't tried but that might work for you are--  L'Imperatrice, the pirouettes, Miike Snow, Diplo, Dj Snake, Polo & Pan, Mø, Seeb, Matoma, Coldplay, Portugal. The Man, Christine and the Queens, Sia Diplo & Labrinth (LSD), Colours in the Street, Samir & Viktor, Major Lazer, BLOW, Yuksek, Flight Facilities, Julian Casablancas, Daft Punk, Therepie TAXI, and Superorganism. Some of those definitely won't work-- again, I'd try Parcels first and the rest with trepidation.

I usually listen to epic music by the likes of Marvel and TSFH. Good luck on your musical journey!

Well, here's a reccomendation straight from the land of my and I's obsession: Yohio. His best song is his cover of Welcome to the City. That's all I got at the moment -u*

What about 'Love Dog" By TV on the radio? I like it, but it's the only one I've ever heard of their stuff, so as for the band, I  do not know whether you'd like them.
