So Halloween is

So Halloween is coming up soon and I’ve experienced tons of scary/weird things that happened on the day. I was thinking it would be really cool if everyone who wanted to share their  creepest/funnyes story for Halloween for others to read!

I hear people walking around my room when I'm supposed to be asleep, but when I turn on the light. Nobody's there. I sometimes find myself staring out the window, and see someone watching me. When I'm the only one awake, I hear heavy boots treading the padio. When the lights are on, the sounds dissapear. Our dog doesn't like them either, she follows at my heels more than usuial when the noises happen. Sometimes, I hear voices, in hushed tones that I can't understand. This has been happening since summer of 2016. Every haloween, I see them, standing over me. I blink, they dissapear. I dunno what will happen this halloween... but I want to be awake if something does. Possibly I'm just crazy, I don't think so, not in the least. Something's out there. And I don't like it. Not at all.

(this is why I sleep with the hall light on, and my closet light, with the door open. Doesnt stop the blackouts though...)

My lovely big orange cat would follow us trick-or-treating and try to run into people's houses.

He did the same thing when I went around selling Girl Scout cookies.  He was such a great cat.

Unrelated reminder to pet owners: don't let your cat out on Halloween.

WARNING: UNBEARABLY SAD AND SHOCKING. MAY SCAR YOU FOR LIFE. NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART.

Once...on Halloween...

We had set out a bowl of candy for the trick-or-treaters, and filled it with candy. Simple things. We never expected what would come next--what betrayal would soon fill our lives and leave us questioning the very truths we were given during our childhood.

Everyone in my family was shocked. My father, always strong, was deeply unnerved. My mother was horrified, to say the least. My brother never received word of the incident, as he was out with friends at the time of the crime. And I? I was never the same.

We heard nothing. We were blissfully oblivious. We had no idea what was about to happen.

Then, suddenly, I heard footsteps. Someone was running across the sidewalk. I looked out the window to see Batman, with his mask and cape, obviously taking care of our neighborhood and making sure nothing bad happened. I smiled to myself, then returned inside the house.

A few minutes later, after uneventful minutes of no Trick-Or-Treaters, I walked outside to the bowl of candy to see how our candy supply (which should have been at a medium or a low) was doing, as I had been checking the candy supply frequently.

It was all gone.

The only Trick-or-Treater I had seen at that time was Batman. Batman, defender of justice. A superhero. I had trusted him. I had trusted that hero with my life, and he had committed the worst crime imaginable. The candy-bowl-dumping crime.

He lied to us. He lied to us all.

*

So yeah. Very horrifying. I'm against leaving bowls of candy out anyways (unless you have a good reason, or aren't home at the time of Halloween)--greeting Trick-or-Treaters and seeing all the costumes is super fun!

...But if you were that fraud dressed as a hero--if you're that fraud betrayed us all, I will find you. And I will make you pay for what you've done.

I swear I'm not taking your pain lightly, but the way that you wrote this gem made me giggle.
