Wicked

Wicked

Has anyone seen the musical Wicked? I am seeing it this November and I am so excited!!!  I've read the book and heard the songs and I am positive that it will be amazing!  But one disapointment is that I just learned that Kristen Chenowith and Idna Menzel (sorry about the bad spelling) aren't going to be performing.  I really hope that it will be just as good. (I'm sure it will be).

So has anyone seen it? What did you think of it? And is anyone else obessed with the soundtrack? Yah, I know it's probably not normal (OK it's NOT; my art class GAGGED when I put on "Popular" (Kristen Chenowith (aka Galinda)), but, sorry, guitar solos don't interest me!!!!)  But is there anyone else who loves Wicked?!?!?!

Who cares? It deserves multiple threads.

Ooh, and Haley got the 3rd book in the Wicked Years a few days ago, it was brilliant... *drool* I hope he writes a fourth, I want to know more about Elphie's granddaughter, and Liir, and find out what happens to the Grimmerie and Glinda and more about the Scarecrow! *is obsessed*

Popular... You're gonna be popular... the choreography to that song looks highly caffeinated to say the least. ;)

I've mentioned elsewhere I've seen it thrice, going on four in April. Theatre geek, that's me. And Mom. And my friend Ashlee.

I would lovelovelove to see it performed by the original cast; Idina Menzel was brilliant in Rent and both she and Kristen Chenoweth have amazing amazing voices, but they left a long time ago. :(

Anyway, it's brilliant no matter who performs it, I promise, although it's odd hearing different voices at first. You get used to it in like the first minute though. And be warned - the play starts really really suddenly - be prepared to jump. I did all three times, and I was ready for it the second and third times. And be prepared to cry, I did all three times at the intermission and also during "For Good" both times when I saw it in Chicago (the Denver performance wasn't so good and anyway I was sick), and I don't cry.

Me? Obsessed? No, not at all.

I'm going to stop now.

I LOVE you Ellie!!!!!  Just the fact that you've heard popular makes me love you!!!!!

*Starts to hyperventilate*

*Takes deep breath and calms down*

Sorry, I am just so happy that you are obsessed with the soundtrack like I am.  I showed Popular to Koffee and she made me turn it off and listen to some song about the president.
