Music thread

This thread is for talking about music. I love music. I play flute in a band (a very small one) and toy around with piano. I love to listen to it too. Who else is in a band or plays an instrument or likes music in general.

Oh yeah! I love Imagine Dragons and Bastille, and I play ukulele. Since I name everything, my ukulele is named Perversus, and my case is named Revan. I used to have a uke named Loth-cat and a case named Canderous. (long geeky story behind those names). I used to play piano but I dropped that bc you can't busk with a piano easily XD

The admins do allow links to NaNoWriMo, unless something has changed.

Yes, to the young writer's NaNo site.

I'm learning to play the guitar! We have an electric guitar that my dad got in an auction--it's not like, one of those super-weird looking electric guitars, it's mostly a normal shape. It's just kinda heavy. It's signed by the Sick Puppies, who I couldn't care less about, but that's just because I've never listened to their music.

I've been teaching myself, and learning chords for quite a while now. I know a lot of chords now and I can switch between them fairly quickly. I really want to learn how to play Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift, but it seems like I might need a tutorial for that because there are some parts that aren't covered in the chord sheet that I printed.

Since the electric guitar is kinda heavy and unwieldy, and it doesn't make a super loud sound, I asked for an acoustic guitar for Christmas because I think it might be easier to play if it was lighter.

I also love music in general! ;)

I've had the song "Winds of Change" by the Scorpions in my head for three days.

It's such a beautiful piece of music.  It's about Germany after the war, but the mood of it so perfectly captures the melancholy after a tragedy.  I could listen to it over and over forever.

Does anyone else know this song?  I can never find anyone who shares my taste in music. I really recommend looking it up if you don't.

Listen to the wind... of change...

Yup, I know it and like it. Have you heard Imagine by John Lennon? Those two songs have begun to, like, go together in my mind. You might like it.

I do like that song!  I realize looking back that it might sound silly to call a rock ballad beautiful, but I guess to me it's kinda powerful for some reason.  They both are, in a bittersweet sort of way.

Ahahaa, I sound cheesy, I know.

Oh! I love music! I like Halsey, Panic! at the Disco, The Undertale OST, Lifelight (Super Smash Bros, anyone?), Be More Chill, and I could name so many others! I play viola and piano, (my viola's name is Gertrude) too! I mostly play video game music, and my music teacher gets really mad when I play. :')

I love music. My favorite genre is probably (?) alternative. But I listen to so many random artists that yeah.

Does anybody like classical music? I do. My favorite song is Ode to Joy by Beethoven.

I like concert band/full orchestra pieces a lot, if that counts.

I haven’t heard much classical music that I can follow for more than five minutes—all I can think of off the top of my head is Gymnopédie and the Prince Igor Polovetsian Dances (which I probably misspelled). Winter by Vivaldi is shorter than five... I wonder what the other three Seasons sound like?

For some reason I haven't come upon either of them on the classical music radio station. I think I heard the seasons once. I really like the Marrionette's Funeral March I think.
