I was wondering if it would be okay to make an art inspiration thread where people could post art that they like by other artists? I know that technically we’re only supposed to post things that are our own work, but I thought it might be okay as long as we credit the artists/don’t claim to have made the art ourselves, and as long as the pieces are CB appropriate. But I understand if you decide against it.

That would be difficult because of rights issues. But you certainly could give the names of works by other artists and discuss them. That would just leave it up to the particpants to look up the work on their own.

What if we made sure they were labeled for reuse? I think most classical artists or artists from more than like 50 years ago are automatically uncopyrighted or whatever it’s called. And any photos found on certain sites, like Wikimedia Commons, are labeled for reuse. And the CB is a public forum, isn’t it, so wouldn’t it be considered not-for-profit?
