Ski Lodge

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Ski Lodge

Ski Lodge?

As Myst read the letter, she had far to many questions going through her head... on top of it all was why. Why would someone ask her to host a new ski lodge? Who would do that? How did they find me? What are they trying to find out? She stared hard at the crinkled, but otherwise neat letter, tainted by the slightly scrawled ink, across the parchment-like paper. Biting her lip, she got up, peering out at the quiet gloom through a rain streaked window pane. Hmm. It wouldn't hurt to try, right? She laid the letter down on her rough mahogany desk, listening to the patter of the feeble drizzle. Like too many people rushing around, she thought, rather absent-mindedly. It seems a bit sudden, but I suppose I could use the adventure...Or rather the opportunity... Once again glancing around the cramped apartment she had rented under an alias, and applied for with a disguise, she returned to pondering.

Then, turning, she swiftly began the preparations.

Myst had everything planned, set and ready to go. All she needed was receive the guests. Again she looked out the weathered pane of glass, the only thing separating her from the harsh nature. This time, though, the window was much larger, and reflected the dusk's faint light off the powdered precipitation, which had grown several inches within these painstakingly and meticulously planned past few weeks. Now, when she  the surrounding room, even in the dim lighting, she saw the gleam of the palace's ballroom's polished floor, both the brilliant and creamy contrasting wallpapers, the ornately designed decorations and countless gadgets and trinkets. If she wandered far enough, she'd even glimpse the personalised guest rooms, perfectly attuned to the future visitors every want and need.

A brief smile played over her dainty lips, for the first time in months, upon simply noticing how ironic her full name was at this particular moment. The time had come...

Day 4 - continuation!

~~~~~
Sea Glass struggled into a sitting position, a blaring pain throbbing in the back of xyr head. The healing factor didn't seem to apply here? Xe held up xyr fingers, feeling a strange sensation spreading through them. Sea Glass's eyes widened as xe realized what was happening. Is Viola(?) alright? Xe wondered groggily, just barely registering what appeared to be xyrself melting, ironically, much like very hot glass. If it was glass, it would have to be a very fancy type of glass with many colours, the kind used for decorations of all sortsA shame that the lovely carpet would be ruined, it really was nice... The poor EA thought. Why didn't I foresee this? What is wrong with my powers? First my inability to heal, and now this? Before long, Sea's vision was blurring so badly that xe could hardly see, or for that matter think, but just as everything began to fade completely, xe could vaguely make out several figures, presumably the other Chatterboxers, burst in, and run over. Crouching over xyr, they seemed to want something... xe couldn't really hear them, and it was getting more and more difficult to focus on the smeared-looking objects blocking the light....
Then darkness.
A cold shock accompanied by a blinding light, sharply contrasting the previous dark, and warmth of the assigned room, brought Sea Glass to xyr senses. ...What happened?  Futiley attempting to hoist xyrself up again, xe felt a soft resistance on xyr shoulder. Wait, I have a shoulder? But... Glancing over to see what was holding xyr down,  xe then resorted to furiously blinking for a moment, waiting for xyr vision to be restored. Startled, xyr thought proccess still felt foggy. Nymph? What is xe doing here? I thought xe wasn't coming? And... is that...? No. What is Celeste doing here? Oh, sure. Come and see Sea Glass while xe is dying and unable to use healing! Just great. And where did everyone go, all those Chatterboxers? Pondered the very confused AE. So finally, with great deal of effort Sea forced xyrself up, and looked around. Huh? The beach? Glancing at the forest looming not far in the distance, confusion only rising, Wouldn't that mean...? How did I get back here again? Sea Glass stuggled to xyr feet, giving a cry of surprise when xe saw Viola(?) lying motionless a few metres away, and rushed over to begin healing her. Well, at least that means that everything will be alright. Everything is fine. It's over now. Sea Glass decided, secretly hoping that Viola(?) would participate in the next round of the Ski Lodge.
~~~~~

Meanwhile, the remaining Chatterboxers began to brood and speculate again, as to the next victim.

"I still don't see a correlation between the victims, except for the fact that they are all female so far.... but I have the uncanny feeling that that is purely coincidental...." Jaybells offered, as she discussed the case over with Conan.

"Ma ne(well, maybe), but perhaps we should still take precautions." He responded, his eyes worriedly flitting in her direction momentarily. Clicking her tongue in what her partner assumed to be annoyance, she remained otherwise silent on the matter, instead focusing on the case again. Sooner than than anyone had expected, though, another incident was to shortly occur.

~~~~~
Sorry, again, that I took so long! Alot of things have been coming up, not leaving me with alot of time for posting. Well, until next time! Ciao-ne, omaira! (Later, everyone!)
Day 5
~~~~~

Codesmith sighed, her big brown eyes clearly expressing her exhuastion. Like most of the  others, she had had a very restless night, but now it was morning, and some of the other Chatterboxers had devised a plan. They decided that they would form into groups as an act of self-preservation, yet still elevate the overall well being above themeselves individually. Brilliant! She had been grouped with Jaybells & co., Kitten, Gale and Breeze. Her eyes eventually settled on the other two groups, one and three, which were standing at the other end of the grand atrium, one heading back into the main dining hall, the other rushing in the other direction. Glancing up, she once again felt a shiver run down her spine, along with that prevalent, dreading sensation, and strange premonition.

Darkking's eyes scanned the faces of all the other Chatterboxers, gauging their reactions to the groups. It made sense after all, that the culprit would be deterred, or in the least, set back due to the groups, right? Continuing to wonder how long they would hold out before the next incident, Darkking and Nighthawk hurried upstairs, and agreed to stay in Nighthawk's room.

Meanwhile Twirlgirl, MJ and Leo had some snacks before heading to the designated room. MJ's room was decided upon, and as they ambled over the stairs they caught a glimpse of group two, rushing upwards.

Kitten's group had not yet decided what they were doing roomwise, so they quickly dicussed, concluding that Jaybells' would be ideal. Since 4A was directly between rooms 2A and 6A, Codesmith and Kitten's rooms, it made sense. Quickly allowing them to grab a few items they need/wanted, Jaybells, Conan and her AEs prepared the room for their new visitors.

"I still have the uncanny feeling that the whole group setup is only working to the culprit's advantage." Jaybells murmurred, as she pulled a sofa out of seemingly nowhere. Conan sighed, placing a hand on her arm.

"I know you're nervous, and worried about everyone here, but just relax. It should be fine." He assured her. Glancing up at him she smirked rather wryly.

"My, look how we've switched places. Since we collaberated on this, anyways." She remarked.

Conan's eyes shot up to observe her facial expression. He seemed just a bit unnerved by her sudden change in demeanour, but relieved that she wasn't sulking or anything.

Just then a piercing cry came from the room beside 4A, echoing of the walls, and amplifying, despite the heavily carpeted floor.

And with that, the original 13 guests was reduced by half.
