Page 206 Game

This is the Page 206 Game--welcome! The idea is that you open any book up to the 206th page, and the first full sentence on the page describes your life.

Just put the quote on here, along with the book and author, and anything else you'd like to add. You can post as many times as you'd like. Have fun :P

To start:

"'What--what are you doing?' said Professor McGonagall, her eyes following the bouncing ferret's progress through the air." -Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

"My fingers slipped, and the lowest keys belched a deep grumble." -The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters

That's surprisingly accurate! Okay, now I feel the need to try this with more books... let me grab some of my favorites. :)

"He sipped deeply, then sighed again--with the satisfaction that comes from sore, tired muscles that are finally allowed to rest." -Erak's Ransom by John Flanagan

"Stepping carefully over the rope that separated these books from the rest of the library, he held up his lamp to read the titles." -Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

"Yes, that was just before we built the platform." -The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages by Trenton Lee Stewart

Yeah, that one doesn't apply to life as much. :) But the others are oddly insightful!

"Ideas rush out at a fearsome rate." - Spilling Ink, by Anne Mazer and Ellen Potter.

I've never really understood the concept of this game, because if the 206th page of any book describes your life, wouldn't everyone's life be the same? Eh, whatever, it's fun anyway.

"And her mother said, "Well, I'm not stopping you."-The Graveyard Book. I guess that means my mom won't stop me from doing anything?

"the drone is hovering, preternaturally still in the air." ~~ 'Satellite' by Nick Lake. If you think about it metaphorically, it's oddly insightful and metaphorical. I'll have to grab some more books and add to this later.

"I'm not sure I agree with any of those statements, even if they come from a man generally assumed to be a genius, but I figured I owed it to both Einstein and Ms. Bixby to do what she asked and think about them." -Ms. Bixby's Last Day, John David Anderson (really good book, though it it middle grade)

“Qibli felt his heart jumping nervously as she lifted it and affixed it to her ear.” Not sure what this is supposed to mean. Oh well! It’s from ‘The Darkness Of Dragons’ by Tui T. Sutherland.
