Day One Part Two

Breakfast was at 7:30. pancakes, fresh fruit, and whipped cream completed a meal of sausages and eggs. The students chattered as they ate. Heroes noticed a girl walk in to the room. As she sat down, Heroes introduced herself. "I'm Sirfire," the stranger said. "I've been here since..." she stopped herself and remained quiet the rest of the meal.

After breakfast was over, they took a tour of the grounds. There was the apple orchard, the lake, which Sir said had live dolphins, and paths through a beautiful wood. And, of course, the stable, where horses, dogs, and very friendly barn cats dwelled. When the language arts teacher, Miss Smith, announced that they would now begin lessons, there was a collective sigh. But back at the main building, there was a surprize. "Here at the Einstien School," Mr. Nelson said. "We do not separate you into grades. Instead, your class will be made up of students with similar inerests and goals." He paused to receive a paper from Mrs. Cartwright. 'Group One will have, Raining Rainbows." Rainbows stepped away from the group. "Heroes of Olympus. PygmyOwl. Arithmancy. Your classes will focus on language arts and music," he told them as Miss Blackhart, the music teacher, led them to their first class.

The second class contained Sparkle Moon, Sirfire, and Hummingbird and they focused on theartre. The next group, which focused on law, had Luminesence, Barnswallow, and Gecko was to take some classes with each.

Ok, don't think I forgot anyone, hope you're happy with your placement, more after I eat lunch.

Day One Part Two cont'd

Later, the whole school was free for the day, and the girls were all walking in the forest. They all split up and went different ways. All was peaceful and scerene. Sirfire hoped that every day would be just as pleasant as she wandered through the trees, listening to the birds sing.

The students were snapped out of their day dreams and thoughts by a scream that peirced the air and rang in their ears. "Help! Help! She's-" It was Barnswallow. Her shrieking and pleading was cut short. Quickly, the others ran towards the sound. Barnswallow was no where to be found. Instead, Sky found a note. She gasped.

"What is it, Heroes?" Sparkle Moon wondered.

"It's well, I'll read it to you. 'I'm smarter than the rest, you know. That's why I'll give you a chance to saved your friend.. Or loose them all.'

"W-w-what?!" Luminesence stuttered. "Who, how, why?"

"One of us," Gecko said. "I'm sure.

"But if it's one of us, what should we do?" Rainbows asked.

"Don't make friends," Sirfire said codly.

Day Two

Hummingbird lay awake at 6:00. She kept thinking about Barnswallow. She was a little lonely without a roommate. She turned over in bed, trying to find a comfortable spot. As her eyelids started to flutter, the her alarm clock rang. Breakfast would be served in 15 minutes.

Quickly, she put on her uniform and pulled a brush through her hair. She washed her face and walked down the spiral staircase. Most of the others were already there, but she noticed that Sirfire and Sky were absent. She sat down next to Sparkle Moon and bit into her waffle. She smiled at the sweet, homemade food and took a bite of scrambled eggs. "Mmm." But when she took another with her fork, she spotted a note.

"What?" she wondered aloud. Sparkle Moon looked over and saw the rolled-up paper inside the eggs.

"How did that get in there?"

"I don't know," Hummingbird answered, reaching for it. She unrolled it and read it to herself. By now, everyone, including Sirfire and Heroes, were looking at her. "What does it say?" "Who is it from?" "Did they say where Barnswallow is?" All the students were talking at once.

"Quiet!" Hummingbird half-yelled to be heard above the noise. "I'll read it to you." At once the girls were silent. The note was a poem, unlike the first. 'Clear and bright,

I'm never white,

Leave by my body,

As an offering,

The offspring of the spring,

By my body.'

"What?" asked Heroes, who wasn't good at riddles. "That's creepy. Whose body are we supposed to find?" Gecko laughed.

"I think it means a body of water. Probably the lake," she told them. Indigo Feather nodded her assent.

"And we probably need flowers or something else that blooms in spring."

PygmyOwl spoke up. "Should we separate into groups and go looking for stuff?"

"Great idea,"Arithmancy concured.

The school had just devided themselves and where just about to start, when a few teachers came to take them to class.

"Where are you going?" asked Cartwright. "It's time for school."

"But we have to go looking for flowers," Luminescence complained. "If we don't, it might be too late to save Barnswallow."

"Nonesense," Nelson said. The students had no choice but to go with their teachers.

When the theartre class got to their first lesson, a strange boy was waiting. None of the girls had seen him before, so they assumed he was new. When the drama teacher introduced him, they were proven right. Joel sat down, trying not to be noticed. After all, being the only boy in an entire school can be a little weird.

All day, they girls thought about Barnswallow. Joel thought about how he wished he was still at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. When school was out, all of the students left the stuffy building and went out side. The girls organized themselves into groups and started off. Joel stood alof, hating to be the new kid, even though the others were still new.

The groups had agreed to meet back in front of the peir on the lake at four o'clock. PygmyOwl, Arithmancy, and Sparkle Moon came back with lilies. Luminescence, Indigo Feather, Gecko, and Sky had a clump of dandelions. Sirfire, Hummingbird, and  Rainbows got some lavander and a few blades of grass. The girls left the foliage by the lake and stood talking for a few moments.

Just then, Joel walked by and saw them. Since you don't usually see people leaving perfectly good flowers by lakes, he walked over. "What are you doing?" he questioned. Theylooked at each other. Eventually, everyone was gazing at Gecko, so she straitened herself up and tried to figure out how to tell a 10-year-old that one of his classmates might murder him.

"Uh, Joel, um, before you came here, there was this girl named Barnswallow. And she got kidnapped, and we found a note telling us to leave flowers and stuff here to save her. And we think that the kidnapper is one of us." Joel stared. For a moment, it seemed he might faint.

"Oooh," was all that he could manage. Sky took him inside, and the others walked around a bit before th dinner bell rang.

But none of them were hungrey, and they picked at their pasta. Later, as they went to bed, one of them vowed to find and stop the other, as she cursed them for figuring out the clue. The kidnapper waited until her roommate was asleep, then walked to Joel's room and knocked on his door. He opended it, albeit warily. When he saw her, smiled. "Can I come in?"

He nodded. She sat down in a chair and he did the same. "Joel," she began. "I need help. I need someone to help me get rid of the others. I you join me, I can give you power. I can make your dreams come true." Joel grinned. Wait,  he thought. She could be...

"You're kidnapper?!" asked.

"Correction," she told him. "I'm the murderer."

"I'll never join you," Joel defied her.

"Thats ok," she said, reaching for a shot in her pocket. She reached for his wrist and plunged the needle into his skin. Joel fell limp. "Nighty-night," the murderer said as she shut the door and went back to her dorm.
