Favorite Quotes!!!!

This is a thread where you can post your favorite quotes from anywhere. Here are two of my favorites.

" A woman's heart should be so close to God that a man should have to chase him to find her." - C. S. Lewis

"He is no fool who gives that which he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." - Jim Elliot

This is a cool thread, I'm glad you started this.

I also really like your first quote from C. S. Lewis, he has said lots of wise things and has written lots of great books. There is also a documentary/movie about C. S. Lewis called The Most Reluctant Convert, I haven't watched it yet but it's about how C. S. Lewis went from being an Atheist to a Christian.

A lot of my favorite quotes are from John F. Kennedy who is my favorite president.

"If not us, who? If not now, when?" -JFK

"Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try." -JFK

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest form of appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -JFK

"Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." -JFK

"Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly." -JFK

"The greater our knowledge increases the more our ignorance unfolds." -JFK

Now that I look at all these quotes, I wonder how many JFK came up with, and how many his speechwriter came up with, but now JFK gets credit for them because he was the one who read them in front of people. I looked it up and his speechwriter was Ted Sorenson. It's interesting to think about.

Some of my other favorites are:

"You are not only responsible for what you say, but also for what you do not say." -Martin Luther

"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." -Albert Einstein
