HAMILTON. EVERYTHING HAMI

HAMILTON. EVERYTHING HAMI

HAMILTON. EVERYTHING HAMILTON.

So yes. This is THE thread for all Hamilton-related subjects. Got fanart? Post it. Want to sing lyrics but your family has officially banned you from singing in order to keep their sanity intact? Post it. Want to complain about the historical inaccuracy? Post it.

Please keep arguing kind and at a minimum, or at the very least, one of those two things.

I'll start the conversation if no one wants to:

THE BULLET. LOOK IT UP.

@Everyone who commented on my drawing, thank you so much! (Also, @Starchaser, I agree Angelica is amazing!)

@Leafy YESSSS WE SHOULD TOTALLY DO THAT! We haven’t had a Hamilton song chain in FOREVER. Which song should we do first?

I know Aaron Burr, sir and Satisfied best. Or we could start at the begining, that would be cool

Oooh yeah maybe we could just sing all the way through! That would be epic. We'd all have to make sure to cut out the bad language/inappropriate parts though and maybe skip Say No To This lol

Lol definitely skip Say No To This but maybe we should start at the beginning and go through the play? That way the storyline could actually be read.

Also I know every word of You'll Be Back I listen to it so much XD

I wasn't sure whether to post this on the Hamilton survey thread or this one, but I think this is more active.

So, discussion topic: which song do you think is the saddest in Hamilton?

I'm torn between "It's Quiet Uptown" and "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story." The former is sadder in a more painful, devastating way, and the latter is more melancholy and sweet.

(Also, I would definitely participate in a song chain!)

...ack I've been absent...but I just finished watching trhe Hamilton movie yesterday it is AMAZING. And a song chain sounds great. Even though I've never actually participated in one since I'm newish? Oh well...

"Burn" is the saddest, personally.

Does anyone else have one (or more XD) of the songs stuck in your head? Because my brain has been replaying "Washington On Your Side" for the past three hours...not that I mind...

Dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean

By providence impoverished in squalor

Grow up to be a hero and a scholar?

(yay, I get to be Laurens!)

The ten dollar, founding father without a father

Got a lot farther by working a lot harder by being a lot smarter by being a self-starter

And every day while slaves were being slaughtered and carted away across the waves

He struggled and kept his guard up

Inside he was longing for something to be a part of

The brother was ready to beg, steal, borrow, or barter

Then a hurricane came and devastation reigned

Our man saw his future drip-dripping down the drain

Put a pencil to his temple, connected it to his brain

And he wrote his first refrain, a testament to his pain...

Yes yes yes! Hamilton is awesome! Also, I looked up the Bullet and that's so cool! The symbolism, the choreography... everything!

Well, the word got around, they said, "This kid is insane, man!"

Took up a collection just to send him to the mainland,

"Get your education don't forget from where you came,

and the world's gonna know you name,

What's your name, man?
