Inktober!

This may be a tad too early for an Inktober thread, but it's probably fine! :)

In case you didn't know, Inktober is a bunch of prompt-based ink challenges for the month of October!

There is a prompt for each day, an example from this years, "Blade"! Every day, or every other day, (or whenever you want w), you can draw an inked drawing that follows the prompt!

Traditional black and white is the most classic Inktober style, but you can color or draw digitally if you so desire!

If you still don't understand, I'm sorry, I'm not that good at explaining xD, but I'm sure other CBers can help you!

I can post the prompts for 2020 once this thread is posted! (Too many exclamation marks xD)

Sherry(my CAPTCHA): Yvaum!

You hear that? YVAUM! How inspiring! Hecc yeah, you go, Sherry!!

( Note: There is a recent controversy over the creator of Inktober, but I think Inktober is more about the art community and is separate from him, so in my opinion at least, I think we should still be able to participate. :) )

Day Seven: Fancy AND Radio

“MARISSA!”

My British agent scurried into the room, smiling cheerfully.

“Yes, Ms. Mewborn?”

I pant, looking her dead in the eyes and speaking slowly, “I realized that I wouldn’t be able to attend the Mexir Fashion Show because of conflicting schedules. I politely asked you to find a way to explain my absence. I arrive here late at night, get SIX HOURS OF SLEEP, and wake up…” I smacked the computer, “TO THIS!”

MODEL TRISTIA MEWBORN REPLACED BY ROBOT IN MEXIR FASHION SHOW

“Oh, that’s not even the worst of it!” She laughed, sashaying over to me and grabbing her phone, “I screenshotted a few highlights; Robo-Freak Mewborn Takes it Way Too Far, Hack Mewborn Ruins Mexir with her Robo-girlfriend, The Rise of Mewbot - That’s what the fans are calling it, by the by, and I do adore their creativity.”

“Creativity is not the matter here, Marissa! It’s the fact that you recruited a robot to do my modeling!”

“Not just any robot. She’s Sashishay, the most fabulous catwalker this side of the Firewall. Homemade by yours truly.”

“Why am I not surprised.” I droned, “Were there any other PR disasters caused by your only interaction with actual humans being your psychopath family?”

“Well, she did exit the backstage after her time and began to dance zanily and say, ‘I’m so fancy and fabulous,’ and other phrases voiced by moi...which caused a pretty large amount of injuries and possibly a few kidnappings. Models flying into the audience and all.”

“Oh my…” I turned to the computer and suddenly yelped, “She has a boombox for a head?!” `

“You didn’t notice that?” She asks, a bit hurt, “It was my favorite part, really, so unique, and what wonderful audio-”

“Marissa,” I held a finger up to her face, choosing my words carefully, “You know I love your creative spark. It’s why I hired you. And I know how much time you spend on these robots. And you know that I love the robots. Heck, I made the most controversial statement of my life defending you. But you have to understand…” I sighed, “sometimes, taking a risk is-”

“It was a situation that required a creative solution-”

“I TOLD YOU WHAT TO DO!”

Silence. Marissa gulped, nodded, and mumbled, “Sorry, Ms. Mewborn,” and quickly fled. I sighed the deepest, longest sigh, and threw my head into my hands.

I'm pretty proud of this one.

I’m actually caught up this year on Inktober! I got into drawing again this spring and summer and finally found a style that works for me.

Woopsies, forgot to post yesterday. Oh well, just know that I didn't skip it. I'm especially proud of the one I did today.

Day Eight:Teeth

Beatrice, sitting on the couch, looked at the eighth grader lying on her lap. The kid's eyes were distant, as if looking into the deepest recesses of space.

"You look very pensive," Beatrice said.

"What if teeth," Belinda droned, "Were made out of cartilage."

What happened next was a period Beatrice called "Recovery Silence," which was very common in the Slidukt household.

"Well," The older woman sighed, "Your teeth would be very gummy, and you wouldn't be able to eat any solid foods. You'd have to eat applesauce and ice cream all the time like an old person."

"Or like a kid who just got their tonsils out."

"Yup."

A pause. "Could I wiggle them?"

A pause. "What?"

"Could I wiggle-de-jiggle my teeth like some people wiggle their ears?"

"Well, wiggling ears is really just a contraction of the muscles, not really 'wiggling' persay."

"I bet," Belinda shook her head rapidly, "That they sorta jiggle like this when I-" She stopped dead and stared at Beatrice with the eyes of Einstein after an epiphany. "Slimes!"

Beatrice shook her head. "No, slimes don't really 'eat' persay. When you get swallowed by a slime, you get dissolved, not chewed."

"Oh. Well, what about bees?"

"I'm not sure. They only eat honey, and I'm not sure how they-"

"Bee woman!"

"Hmm?"

Belinda shot up. "A half-woman, half-bee. She's super pretty, super stylish, kinda attracts men like a siren, but then she eats honey and makes everyone really uncomfortable!"

Beatrice's face was entirely straight. "You're going to go write a homebrew for her, aren't you?"

"You betcha!" She leapt up and dashed to her room. "Thanks momblem!"

"No promblem, just make sure she delights in the men's suffering!"

Day Nine: Throw

"Two, three, four, five, catch them all alive, seven eight nine ten don't let them go again!"

Four feet away from her, Macy looked like a tornado. From right behind the Jam Jam Jamboree machine, however, she looked like the Tasmanian devil in a tornado. Her legs twisted, her arms whirled, and her body whipped like a gelatin belt. Only up close could you hear her growling, see her gritted teeth and feel (ew) the frothy spit spewing from her mouth.

The claw machine kids watched like hawks. The ticket guy and his customer's mouths were open as if to eat a giant sandwich they foolishly thought they could finish in an hour. The girl at the jump rope machine just stopped; it beeped to signal game over, but she didn't flinch. No one said a word.

"Nice."

Now the attention was on the kid right behind the dancing queen, and his boggle-eyed friend.

"What do you mean, nice?" She whispered frantically.

"Well, it's not there anymore. Now her stream's seventy - eighty-two."

A stunned silence. Then, thunderous, booming cheering. Ecstatic screaming. Still, the dancer continued.

"Wait a sec! You don't even pass the check!" A red-haired Beyonce belted.

"Yeah your treachery ain't exactly quality!" A few more ladies joined in.

"You can smile wide-"

"And shake everyone's hands-"

"But it'll never cover-"

"Your obvious plan!" The entire arcade joined in, like a long-awaited fangirl-raided concert. This mood only escalated as the song went on, turning into a full-out screamfest in the finale. Some say that the dancer joined in.

Finally, the song ended. The queen collapsed onto her knees, panting ferociously. The guests waited in silent anticipation.

"A Perfect Score!"

"AAHHHHH!!!!!"

The rest of the day was like happy hour in a tavern. The lady of the hour was celebrated and many drinks, snacks, and plushies were thrown everyone's way. To this day, Sally Estwrie is remembered with a plaque in the ticket center, and any staff member will gladly and blissfully recall the day they now call "The Dance Dance Revolution. "

I am REALLY behind... well here's day one, fish. I was kind of inspired by Jwyn's koi fish and decided to do a yin and yang type thing. :)

I probably should participate but I don't feel the motivation. I really want to get through farther then last year, maybe even the whole month, but I currently just don't feel like it. :(

Oh my goodness, Hawthorne, is that Sherlock playing the violin? If it is, what made you choose to draw that for Hope?

~Starseeker

My interpretation is that music has the power to heal and transform.

My original idea was that music can give you hope, sort of like what the Admin said, so I drew someone playing the violin. I think it can be interpreted in many different ways though.

Since I'm using up entire pages for Inktober, I decided it would be more efficient to just post a page at a time! Here's page 3, aka days 7-9. Day 7 (far left) is actually my sister in her homecoming dress; fun facts, she was nominated for homecoming queen at our school! Very exciting, since it's peer-nominated and she was one of the top 10 candidates. Day 8 (top right) is... interesting. Originally I was just going to draw some realistic mouths, but then I realized it kind of looked like the lips emoji, and then I remembered that weird eye-lips-eye emoji thing and... yeah. I drew that, but in a realistic style. And day 9 (bottom right), I referenced the original yeet Vine, and hopefully I drew the girl okay! It's pretty blurry, so I guessed a lot, but I think it looks okay. I wish I had done the blush a little better but I grabbed the wrong marker by mistake.
