Writing time!!

Here's a thread (if there isn't one already) were we can just post the books we're writing! I would love to take the time to read a few chapters of some of you guy's books! *Chapter limit* one chapter a comment, if there not to long, (so that the thread doesn't get too long) and @Admin, if you have a different opinion about this, let me know!

Thank you all for your time! Can't wait to see some of your work!

It would be great if you could keep your posts to under or around 200 words per post. Beyond that, go wild! --admin

Here is one of my stories:

Alex sighed. She had only been with her new foster family for a week and a half, but here she was, packing up her small suitcase. Maybe it was because Shirley (her foster mom) was moving, or because Shirley had quit her job, or because she disagreed with Alex on everything. Alex didn't really care though. The caseworker, Mrs. Sonyero, had called that morning, saying that there was already a family willing to take her. Alex liked Mrs. Sonyero. She had a friendly smile, and sometimes Alex played with her sons. Jake and Eli, Mrs. Sonyero's twin boys, were almost six years old, and very cute. They enojoyed Alex's company as much as she enjoyed theirs.

"Alexis, please hurry! Mrs. Sonyero will be here to pick you up in ten minutes!" Shirley yelled up at her. "Okay, okay!" Alex said, but she did rush to throw her two shirts in the suitcase. Alex's real name was not Alexis. It was Alex, or so she thought. It had been raining the night that Alex was dropped off on Mrs. Sonyero's doorstep. A drop of water had warped the paper giving Alex's information, and Mrs. Sonyero said that she had just been able to make out "Alex__________jean Blakewell, age 18 m___nth__" Alex had seen the paper, but she didn't know where it was now. ALex continued to pack, throwing in jeans, a pair of sneakers, a notebook, a book, and a small black case.

Not really a book, but I guess it'll fit the the Admins' short-story preference?

~~~~~~~~~~
The moon, a large silvery orb, sits upon a sea of clouds. Purple skies dyed with thick blues and blacks shift above a dim courtyard.
Silence is everything. Until it isn't.
But that is for later.
For now, there is something dangerous in the creeping darkness of the Hóngyù Kingdom; lurking and waiting in secret for the right moment to strike.
The big question is 'when?'
+×+×+×+
A scuffle breaks out on the border of the Jīngyún Kingdom. Muffled shouts stir the night, shattered and dampened by the clash of spears and seeping scarlet.
The assailants are caught and disposed of. It seems that there is peace once more.
But will it last?
+×+×+×+
A bedraggled traveller with an urgent message searches frantically for the Yǐncáng-Yōu Hé Sect. His horse has been left behind and his unprepared feet are torn and riddled with gashes, thin shoes worn down to mere rags.
This mission is too urgent to stall or fail.
Will he manage to find what he's looking for?
Key:
Hóngyù Kingdom (HO-ng yooh) - "Scarlet/Blood Jade" Kingdom; base symbol for red also means loyal, sincere, unwavering and true/raw; red is associated with power; jade is associated with wealth and influence/royalty, and is believed to have magical properties
Jīngyún Kingdom - "Refined Cloud" Kingdom; base symbol for refined means precise, graceful, elegant, exquisite, polished etc. (think Tolkienesque Fantasy's elves); clouds are associated with fortune, prosperity, beauty, unpredictability(especially of those in a higher position), change, and the idea of being unreachable
Yǐncáng-Yōu Hé Sect - "Tranquil Hidden-River" Sect; "Tranquil" is the same base symbol for still, calm, quiet (like motionless water) and serene; "Hidden" has the same base symbol as veiled or covered, masked, concealed, secretive, stealthy, dim, secluded, tranquil, and submerged/underwater, among many others; and oddly enough, the same symbol for "tranquil"(Yōu) can directly mean imprisoned(Yōu)
*A sect is a clan, faction, school of thought, or religious group
That was fun... Maybe I'll make my own thread based on this, if I don't run out of steam!
(P.S. None of this is based on real life or another story's lore, I'm just world-building as I go)
