Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Poetry Association

No, this is not an association of poets! It's a simple writing game that goes like this:

1)  Your poem has to start with the line the last person's poem ended with. In my poem below I have the line that the first person will start with in bold so there will be absolutely no confusion.

2)  All forms of poetry (haiku, free verse, limericks, ballads, etc. etc.) are valid.

3)  There are two winners at all times: The person with the most poems and the person who posted a poem last.

4)  You are a loser in all senses of the word if you contribute bad vibes instead of poems :(

5)  Why not challenge yourself and see how many types of poems you can write?

I will start you off with an easy line, but feel free to challenge one another with harder ones!

There once was a timid CBer

Who resolved to never appear

She lurked without post

A pity, the most

To live life so ruled by fear

To live life so ruled by fear,

People call it cruel,

Unusual,

Impossible,

But no,

Unfortunately,

I am living proof.

I wasn’t always.

There was a time when my life

Was filled with sunshine,

Ah, yes,

I remember a bit,

Those perfect days

Come rushing back at even just a single memory.

But they’re all just daydreams now,

Ever since they came

And everything changed

And everything was gone.

Explosions, war,

And oh, no, don’t make me say it,

Death.

And loss.

I still remember her,

Of course I do,

She was here just a month ago!

But it’s not enough to remember.

No—actually, it’s too much.

I miss her.

I miss everything.

Love this idea! So fun!

i miss everything.

the sun, the water, the beautiful clouds

i miss everything.

the chirps of birds, the whooshing of the wind, the tranquil silence.

i miss everything.

the rough gravel, the smooth stones, the soft hugs.

i miss everything.

the cookies, the cherry cola, the sweet cakes.

i miss everything.

its really a shame my time had to come so fast.

its really a shame i couldnt join you.

its really a shame that im a demon.

and you an angel.

but its rather fitting, dont you think?

when i was alive, i was a ruthless killer.

you were the sweetest being alive.

of course you were an angel, and i a demon.

i still miss you.

and im willing to break the rules for you.

meet you at dawn, my flower.

(not part of the poem, but: love, your demon.)

little poem-ish thing i wrote <3

Meet you at dawn, my flower

When sunbeams kiss the hills

Let me embrace this hour

That everything is still

To see you in the glittered dew

Reminds me of my love anew

More than aught ever will

Never think that I won't cherish

You when you're at your twilight

Shudder to think our love could perish

When youth has taken flight

But let me treasure fleeting time

When love's day is in its prime

Before the grasp of night

Before the grasp of night

All seems well and good

But when dusk falls, stars tumbling down,

Nothing appears as it should

Where has the golden sun gone to?

Replaced by a bitterly silver moon

Simmering stars, like waves, rise and fall

N' shadows'll creep and crawl about far too soon

But alas, where have those glorious hours gone?

So full of life and movement and colours,

Whereas the ink that is night seeps in waves,

'Tis but a theatre filled with horrors
