Well, I've talked to the manager and he agreed to hire me for a part-time job... my first ever real job.  (Not like cleaning in a house with dumb Lark in it.  Evidently, this cafe doesn't have any age requirements.  A decent pay, I'll be able to get something to wear besides the uniform and the stupid, old, dusty cleaning outfits I wear usually.

Someone walks up to the counter. "Hi," I smile at them.  "What can I get for you today?'

"Uh, I was actually wondering if me and my friends-" Doren and Silas come running through the door as if on cue. They're both out of breath, like they've been racing. "I WON!" Doren shouts. "NO, I DID!" Silas yells back. "Guys, calm down!" Scout tells them. "Sorry, he says to the person at the counter. "They're not always like this." Doren and Silas nod, trying to look serious but then bursting out laughing. Scout sighs. "Will you two just be serious for five seconds?" he says. "Sorry," Doren says. "We'll be.. well, we'll try to be a little less crazy."
