It's the middle of summer, and you're draped languorously on your couch, a thick book in your hands and a cool glass of lemonade within reach. A small fan whirs, a pathetic rival to the unrelenting heat. Your window is open, although it doesn't make much difference, for the air outside is still and humid. 

Suddenly, you hear the symphonious tinkling of wind chimes. You couldn't remember ever hearing wind chimes around your house before, but this isn't a huge source of concern. The biggest thing interesting you is the cream-colored envelope that has fluttered in from the window and onto your living room floor. 

You set your book down, and pick up the envelope, turning it over in your hands. On the front, in neat black ink, it spelled out your name. Odd. You slit the top of the envelope, and withdraw two pieces of parchment and a small, pressed purple flower - you aren't quite sure, but you think it's an aster. You pick up the first piece of parchment and read, 

Dear CBer, 

You are invited on an all-expenses paid vacation at Lockaria House, located within the Osorthe Forest. While there, you will experience a fortnight of fun, adventure, excitement, and, quite possibly, danger. Sign up quickly, only sixteen guests are allowed. This includes any AE companions you may choose to bring. We will begin when spots are filled.

Something about this letter makes you wary, but those thoughts are quickly banished to the back of your mind. It's so hot here, and an all-expenses-paid autumnal vacation is just the thing you need. You grab the writing utensil of your choice and in careful print, fill out the forms. 

Besides, what could possibly go wrong in fourteen days?

Appearance: periwinkle hair hanging loosely down to my shoulders, a black jean jacket, white t-shirt with a small black moon on the back, gray leggings, and brown Ugg boots.

Personality: I'm empathetic and sensitive, and creative. I like writing and daydreaming, attempting to draw, and helping people when I can.

Aura (Basically, what color embodies your personality?): well, um, periwinkle I guess 

Biggest Strength: my empathy 

Biggest Weakness: my worrying (I get nervous about just about everything...)

Gender/Pronouns: Xe/xe/xyrs and they/them/theirs
Appearance: Olive skin, heterochromatic eyes (one blue and one dark brown), short cornflower blue hair with dark brown roots, large blue-ish white angel wings. Usually wearing jeans and a sweatshirt hoodie or band tee.
Personality: Creative, strange, introverted until you get to know me, but always socially awkward. Probably kind of annoying. Very musical and artistic. A bookworm. Mischievous at times, but usually follows rules.

Appearance: Eight years old. Tan skin, dark brown eyes, long black hair usually in two braids, freckles, short (or what she calls, “Vertically challenged”). Consistently wears a school uniform consisting of a white button-up shirt, a navy blue sweater vest, pleated skirt, and tall white socks.
Personality: Annoying. Angry, very punctual, academically smart, doesn’t really understand emotions. A bit of a mystery to even me, to be honest. Blunt and a bit self-entitled. Childish, emotional, can and will judge you. Kind of sassy. Holds grudges really well. When things don’t go her way, she will cry or scream. Cares a lot more than she lets on.

Name: Darkling

Gender/Pronouns: It matters not. Whatever floats your boat. Or flies your plane. Or drives your car. So either a sailor, a pilot, or a chauffeur? . . . uhhh just whatever you want..

Appearance: Short uneven black hair, slate-gray eyes, dark pinstripe suit, red converse, freckles, sharp little teeth.

Personality: I use big/obscure words a lot, not to make me sound smart but to confuse other people, to say I'm insane would not be unaccurate, and often incredibly random or weird, you can never tell exactly what will tick me off and often I will lose my temper quickly at the oddest things. 

Aura (Basically, what color embodies your personality?): The purplish glow surrounding a lightning strike.

Biggest Strength: Fast reflexes and sharp wit.

Biggest Weakness: Vulnerable to adorable cats and the nauseating smell of olives.

Luggage: Multiple four-piece suits, a book, a guitar, one piece of piano music for the middle of Mozart's Turkish March, records of obscure bands but no record player, half a ball of orange wool yarn, expensive chocolate, a crowbar, and a snappy British accent to pull out and use when needed.

Other: My apologies for my far-less-than-satisfactory punctuality habits; I've been drowning in stuff a bit lately. Sorry!
