Pi Day! Hi

Pi Day!

Hi all,

Sorry, I have been rather quiet around here. Which reminds me, Pi Day is coming up. When I was in late elmentary school, we would have a pi reciting contest, and there would be 1, 2, and 3 place, who would get to throw a pie at the teacher. Smile It was very fun! In fourth grade, I tied in second place and I recited 60 something digits. In fifth grade, i got fifth place and I recited 110 digits. Now I only remember about 60.

I used to be able to recite them in my sleep!Surprised

YAS PI day! We have this event in our middle school where we also have a pi reciting contest. The winner gets a whole pi to bring home. I'm sadly, too lazy to recite pi, and also bc I'm pretty busy lately. It's so cool that you could recite 110 digits of pi! Also, even tho you only remember 60 digits, it's still a lot more than I could do! Do you guys still have pi day? It's funny tho, because we never had a pi day in elementry school. Oh! Also, if we can, we donate $3.14 for the school math board :)

(I know this is all over the place, my thought process...)

Our school has an event where you vote for your favorite (or least favorite!) math or science teacher and they get pied in the face. It's a lot of fun but unfortunately you have to pay to vote and to get in to the event and I'm too cheap :P

CAPTCHA says "xcrwd". Screwed? Gee, maybe I should go...

I literally texted my friends about 15 minutes ago this: "Guess what guess what GUESS WHAT

*squeals*". I bet they'll never guess that why I am so (oh, wait. turn those 3 words backwards, it's So Am i, which is the song I'm listening to... That was random) excited it because TOMORROW IS PI DAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*pi more exclamtion points (that makes no sense)*

What? Inkling! Sure, it's a palindrome. But it's kinda inappropiate.

HAPPY PI DAY Y'ALL! My school is letting us throw whipped cream pies at teachers later, but for now, let me tell you the story of how I became a Pi Master.

It all started when I was young. Very young. I can't tell you how old I was, but I'm assuming I was in elementary school. For as long as I remember Pi existing, it was 3.14159. Easy. Fun to chant. A random cartoon added on a 2. Then the madness began. Around 5th grade, for Pi Day, I decided to watch the Pi Song over and over again, and try to memorize a few digits from there. I got to like 20 or 30 digits. That's why my first few dozen digits sound kind of irregular, because they were memorized a few at a time. In 6th, I began looking up pi online, and I tried for 100 digits by Pi Day. I memorized them ten at a time, in two groups of 5. From 30 digits on, when I recite, you can hear a pattern of fives, though I've tried to get it to be fluid. I didn't reach my goal, and gave up trying to learn 70, so my claim to fame was 60 digits of pi. I kind of let go of the last ten, so it was 50. I would recite them at random intervals, sometimes months apart. Which brings us to now. In earnest, I began to memorize them again. 60. 70. I wrote them on whiteboards. 80. 90. Almost there! I made it to 100 in early March this year, and I plan to recite them in my math class. I can recite 90 almost effortlessly, but I kind of have to mentally summon the last ten. Who knows what's next for this self-proclaimed Pi Master!

Oh wow, this was long. I mean, I don't know if anyone will read it but... Happy Pi Day!

Wow! That's a lot! I only know 15 of them. Throwing whipped cream pies at the teachers sounds a little crazy though.
