Art Contest: February Stories

With cold February winds blowing through Cricket Country, everybuggy wanted to stay inside, all cozy and warm by the fire in Old Cricket’s library. While Muffin made cocoa, Cricket suggested that everybuggy would have fun creating art inspired by Cricket stories. Even Ladybug thought it was a great idea!

So, for the contest, we’d like you to create a work of art inspired by one of the stories in this month’s issue. Will you draw a scene of ancient China, inspired by “The Princess and the Golden Fish”? Or a lively street in Paris, inspired by “Surprise Pets”? Perhaps your art will tend toward the Roman setting of “The Dog of Pompeii.” Will you travel in your imagination to the dense African forest of “Magotu and the Leopard”; join a camel caravan crossing the vast Sahara, as in “The Drums Speak”; or will you find inspiration in the wise poetry of Lao Tse?

Whatever you chose, please send us you best work of art--just one, please--and title your artwork on the back, so that everybuggy will know which Cricket story most inspired you.
