Contests

Open Theme Art Contest

After reading this month’s Cricket, everybuggy suggested different ideas for an art contest. Pudding wanted to see your best art about the theater—like a poster for a school play, or funny backstage antics, or an ancient Greek amphitheater. Cricket longed for pictures of medieval castles and Knights of the Round Table on bold quests and jousts. Tater hoped to see diagrams of your best idea for a nap (er, an app). Muffin wanted scenes of England, but Old Cricket was more interested in ancient Rome. And Ladybug wanted pictures of . . . herself, advertising her “Pool of Wisdom” advice column. Everybuggy finally agreed to leave the choice to you, so for this month’s contest please send us your best drawing or painting of whatever inspires you.

If there’s some special work of art you’ve been longing to send us, this is your chance! The Brave Bugs of the Square Table (nobuggy could find a round one) will be clanking in their suits of armor around the Cricket Country mailbox, boldly questing to enjoy your best artwork of anything you want.
